Synthetic Wizard - Chapter 82: Unknown Wizard Apprentice

Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Unknown Wizard Apprentice
Count Storm stared blankly at the scene before him, his mind completely blank, mouth agape and unable to speak.
Why did it turn out this way?
Didn’t Marquis Golden Rock say that these beastmen could easily suppress Sunan and restrain the wizard?
But what is happening here?
These beastmen, in whom he had placed so much hope, couldn’t even last a moment against Sunan!
This is too ridiculous!
He couldn’t understand!
The cold air cut through the space like a knife.
Looking at the dozen or so motionless beastman ice sculptures, a satisfied smile flashed across Sunan’s eyes.
Had it been the time he killed Hodge, he would have certainly fled in panic against these beastmen.
Marquis Golden Rock based his assessment of Sunan back then, using these beastmen as his trump card against him, which wasn’t entirely incorrect.
But times have changed, and now Sunan has more hidden cards. Marquis Golden Rock’s understanding of his power is long outdated.
Sunan shifted his gaze from the ice sculptures to Count Storm.
Facing Sunan’s indifferent gaze, Count Storm felt as if cold water was poured over him, instantly waking him up.
“Stop him!”
Count Storm yelled desperately, ordering his personal guards to block Sunan, while he fled backward in panic.
The guards, though terrified, did not dare disobey and rushed towards Sunan reluctantly.
What greeted them was a fiery blaze!
Burning Hand!
Intense flames erupted from Sunan’s palm, sweeping forward in a cone shape, engulfing an area of over a hundred square meters.
The rushing soldiers instantly turned into torches, screaming miserably as they fell, rolling and struggling, until soon all was silent.
Yet just after killing these guards, two commanders rushed over, hearing Count Storm’s cries for help.
Seeing the aura of fighting qi enveloping their bodies, it was clear they were Peak Knights.
“What a nuisance.”
Sunan casually tossed two gemstone runes.
Boom!
Lightning tore through the night!
The two furious Peak Knights, coming to protect their lord, hadn’t even gotten within five meters of Sunan before they dropped as charred corpses.
Sunan didn’t even cast a glance at the burnt bodies, his figure flashing as he swiftly pursued Count Storm.
Seeing this, Count Storm was terrified out of his wits, wishing he had another pair of legs to flee faster.
However, he was merely a Junior Knight, far slower compared to Sunan, who rivaled a Peak Knight. In an instant, Sunan caught up.
Whoosh!
A gray beam shot like an arrow through the air, striking the fleeing Count Storm.
Weakening Beam!
Suddenly, Count Storm felt a strong sense of weakness overwhelming him, his legs buckled, and he stumbled grotesquely to the ground, dipping his face in the dirt.
But he couldn’t care about the pain, struggling to crawl up again, fearfully looking back at Sunan.
“Please, please don’t kill me, spare me…”
Sunan raised a brow, a hint of disdain flashing in his eyes.
He had seen the previous Count Storm, a dignified, resolute Peak Knight.
In contrast, this man was a classic case of a tiger father raising a bearish son.
Without wasting words, Sunan cast a stunning skill to silence him.
How to deal with Count Storm would be left for Kei to decide.
Sunan looked around; under the slaughter of the Stone Golem, the Storm Territory’s soldiers suffered heavy casualties.
The few remaining stubborn resisters lost their will to fight upon seeing Count Storm captured, throwing down their weapons and fleeing.
Soon after, Kei and his men charged in.
To prevent accidents, Sunan had arranged the Hidden Dragon alongside Kei earlier.
With Hidden Dragon’s help, their charge was very smooth, meeting virtually no resistance.
Seeing Sunan safe and sound, Kei breathed a sigh of relief.
Although aware of Sunan’s strength, it was worrying to see him venture deep into enemy lines.
Now, seeing Sunan unharmed, all his worries dissipated.
Relieved, Kei couldn’t help but marvel; only Sunan could accomplish such a feat of crashing deep into enemy territory solo and defeating them unscathed.
Brad and others following behind soon noticed the icy terrain, jumping in surprise.
“What’s this?”
“Look over there, so many ice sculptures!”
“Did Lord Sunan make these?”
Looking at the area of ice spanning over a hundred meters, everyone swallowed nervously.
Only Lord Sunan could create such an astounding spectacle!
“This guy is the new Count Storm, handle him as you see fit.”
Sunan pointed at the unconscious Count Storm lying on the ground.
“Thanks for the hard work,” Kei said excitedly.
After tonight’s battle, the Storm Army was no longer a threat. Next, they could proceed to attack the Winter Frost Territory’s army and relieve the siege of Qilin City.
Once Count Frost was defeated, Flashing Territory could catch its breath.
Quick action could allow them to seize the Storm Territory and Winter Frost Territory, significantly boosting their strength!
The tide had turned!
“Take this guy away and lock him up.”
Kei ordered soldiers to drag the unconscious Count Storm away, then glanced at the nearby ice sculptures.
“What’s that?”
“Beastmen,” Sunan responded succinctly.
Kei was taken aback; why were beastmen here?
But soon he realized they were likely to guard against Sunan.
Apparently, Marquis Golden Rock greatly underestimated Sunan’s power; these beastmen served no use.
Kei thought this was reasonable, considering even he couldn’t fully grasp Sunan’s true strength.
Sunan had so many cards up his sleeve!
“Confirmed, it’s Marquis Golden Rock behind the beastification syndrome!” Kei frowned. “That old man is ruthless enough to sacrifice thousands just for his own gain.”
Sunan said seriously: “Marquis Golden Rock alone couldn’t cause such an uproar. I suspect there might be a Wizard Apprentice involved.”
“Wizard Apprentice?” Kei was shocked.
Given Sunan’s example, he understood the terrifying power of Wizard Apprentices.
If Marquis Golden Rock had the backing of a Wizard Apprentice, things would get very troublesome.
“It’s just a suspicion for now; we’ll have to study these things to find out.”
Sunan glanced at the blood-patterned bone fang in his hand and the ice sculptures nearby.
He planned to dissect these beastmen overnight to see if it’s truly the handiwork of another Wizard Apprentice.
“I still need those ice sculptures. Send someone to help transport them back to Firefly City.”
“Alright, I’ll arrange it right away.”
Kei nodded worriedly, turning to give orders.
