Chapter 1119: Journey To The West [Part 2]
“They didn’t take the bait,” Zed reported as soon as he landed on the peak of the mountain where the Guerrilla Fighters were stationed. “They are headed in our direction. By the looks of it, they have someone who specializes in tracking magic.”
“It must be the Nagas,” Zapar commented. “I have interacted with a few of them in Velmusa City, and they mentioned that their race was very proficient in tracking magic.”
“If they are very proficient in it, how come they couldn’t locate the Artemians?” Camazotz scoffed.
“It’s because the Artemians traveled underground, then destroyed all the tunnels they made,” Zia replied. “The Jinn Army is also not suited for underground battles. The Artemians have the upper hand over the Azothralls.
“Unless they commit to a war of extinction, they will not carelessly do that. Especially since they still have to fight with the Wanderers.”
“Then, what do we do now?” Commander Marion asked. “Should we continue to move west?”
“We can do that, but I don’t recommend it,” Zia replied. “I think it’s time for Camazotz to shine.”
“Hahaha!” Camazotz crossed his arms over his chest and laughed. “Finally. I’ve been waiting for this moment.”
Truth be told, Camazotz could single-handedly harass the Jinn Army given his unmatched speed and power.
No one among their enemies would be able to catch him, making him a very annoying enemy.
“We should also increase your prestige, so the Jinns following Prince Aurelion will know how strong you are,” Zia added. “So, when we do Plan R, the chances of success will be higher.”
Zia had created several plans from Plan A to Plan Z.
Plan R was the one they would execute when the time was right.
However, if Camazotz succeeded, they might be able to do it earlier than their original plan.
“Go, Camazotz,” Zia said. “Show them who’s Boss.”
The Death Bat grinned before soaring to the sky. A second later, a sonic boom was heard as the Majin Prince traveled at full speed, heading in the direction from which the Jinn Army was coming.
“What about us?” Zapar inquired. Are we going to leave everything to Camazotz?”
“Only for the first half,” Zia answered. “He will not be able to terrorize our enemies if he has to worry about us. You already know this, right? Camazotz is more dangerous when he is alone.”
Zapar nodded and looked in the direction where the Death Bat had gone.
Back then, he didn’t think much of Camazotz and even looked down on him.
In his eyes, Camazotz and Zion were the weakest members of the Order of the Apocalypse.
But that was all in the past.
The Death Bat had a fruitful encounter, and his strength had leapt drastically since then.
In fact, when Camazotz fought against Paimon and won, half of the members of the Order of the Apocalypse had no choice but to acknowledge that the Death Bat was no longer the weakling they secretly laughed at behind his back.
He was a changed individual, and the one who contributed to this change was Thirteen.
Their weakest member and yet had fought against a Majin King and a High Archon, winning both battles.
Thirteen could no longer be gauged using common sense since he would always surpass it.
Little did Thirteen, Camazotz, and Zapar know that the members of the Order were currently observing them.
Metatron was always watching Thirteen. At the spur of a moment, he decided to invite all the other members of the order to the conference room, where he played the live broadcast of Thirteen’s battle.
Zagan also momentarily stopped his operation to see his new partner in action, and was shocked to see that Zia managed to defeat a High Archon without anyone’s help.
The weapon their youngest member used wasn’t that giant staff that could increase its size and length, so some couldn’t help but wonder about it. Metatron then explained that this weapon was the one Zion chose when Metatron gave all the members an opportunity to select from the treasury.
After hearing that, Zagan and the others were a little shocked since they thought they had already claimed the best items during their turn. Thirteen was the last to enter the treasury, so they assumed that he wouldn’t be able to get something good.
Beelzebub asked what artifact their youngest member chose, and Metatron said that it was the Chains of Heaven.
It didn’t take long before they recalled seeing the Chains of Heaven when it was their turn to pick a treasure. It didn’t help with their confusion. After all, the description of the chains and their abilities was so mediocre, none of them gave it a second glance.
To that, Metatron replied that even if they were the ones who picked the weapon, they wouldn’t be able to use its powers the way Thirteen did.
The only reason the Chains of Heaven could show their full prowess was because of the conditions Thirteen used to bind their powers with him.
And now, they were looking at Camazotz, who was about to fight an army on his own.
They knew that the Death Bat had become stronger, but they had yet to see for themselves just how strong he really was.
Although they weren’t supposed to fight each other, they were still competitors and rivals aiming to be the one to open the thirteenth layer of the treasury, where Pandora’s Box was stored.
Last but not least, they would be able to ask any wish to Metatron, which the God of Apocalypse would grant, as long as he had the power to do so.
As the members of the Order of the Apocalypse observed the Death Bat, the Jinn Alliance was able to perceive a strong enemy headed in their direction.
Camazotz didn’t even bother to hide his strength and unleashed his power as a Majin Prince, announcing his arrival.
“Remember, you will only attack the Dragonkin Army. Ignore the other Jinns.”
Those were Zia’s words a day ago, and he would obey them perfectly.
“All hands, prepare for battle!” Prince Aurelion shouted before he and Dravon rose to the sky, intending to intercept the enemy coming at them straight on.
Seated on one of the dragons was a Majin Princess, who didn’t join her brother and the Commander in facing off against the threat that was headed in their direction.
Her goal had always been to protect the Dragonkin Army while letting her brother and the Commander handle other powerhouses.
But after sensing the strength of the newcomer, the beautiful dragon princess couldn’t help but frown.
’He’s strong,’ the Dragon Princess thought before summoning her spear.
She could instinctively tell that the two Dragonkins wouldn’t be able to block their enemy, which would likely force her to join the battle in order to protect her people from annihilation.
