System's POV - Chapter 1126: Just Try To Keep The Scandal To A Minimum

Chapter 1126: Just Try To Keep The Scandal To A Minimum
After leaving the camp of the Monarchs and Thrones, Zia raised her pinky finger.
With the technology rendered useless, Zia had no way to contact her lovers, so she could only track them through the strings on her finger, representing her connection to them.
After a quick thought, she decided to follow the blue thread, which represented Erica.
It had been a while since she last saw her, and truth be told, she missed her quite a bit.
The Wanderer Camp was vast, for tens of thousands of Wanderers had come to fight.
And wherever Zia went, gazes followed her.
The white military uniform she wore made her stick out in the crowd. Not to mention, the uniform enhanced her beauty even more, making her presence akin to a breath of fresh air. Wherever she passed, the originally tense atmosphere would somehow calm down.
Sherry and Princess Aracelle walked a few steps behind her.
They were both great beauties, yet all they got were brief glances, for most of them would immediately be stolen by Zia, who was walking ahead of them.
Several minutes later, they arrived at the Hero Camp, where most teenage Wanderers were located.
They were strategically stationed at the rear of the Wanderers Camp, so adults would be the first to bear the brunt in case of a sudden war breakout. That way, the young ones would have enough time to prepare before joining the battle.
As she drew close to the camp, Zia didn’t know if she saw Erica first or Erica saw her first.
Either way, the sorceress ran in her direction and hugged her tightly as soon as she came within range.
“I missed you,” Erica said, hugging Zia tightly.
“I missed you too,” Zia replied, hugging the sorceress and enjoying the feeling of their reunion.
“Maste—errr, Zia, it’s good to see you again,” Derek greeted.
The teenage boy planned to walk behind the young lady to give her a hug as well, but Sherry and Princess Aracelle blocked his path.
They could tell that the swordsman was up to no good, so they didn’t allow him to go near Zia and Erica.
Derek sighed before scratching his head. There was no way that he could force his way through Sherry and Princess Aracelle. Both of them seemed ready to bite him if he took another step towards their lover.
The Wanderers who followed Zia with their eyes saw her interaction Erica, which made them wonder if the beauty was friends with the Sorceress.
Some looked away with shy smiles, while others exchanged knowing glances.
There were many kinds of bonds among Wanderers, and more than a few recognized the depth behind that embrace.
“Well, well, what’s this?” a teasing voice called out.
Zia looked over her shoulder and saw Mildred, the archer of the Hero Party, standing on top of a supply crate with a mischievous grin. “You two being all cute together is gonna raise the temperature of the whole Hero Camp. At least give us a warning next time!”
“Shut up,” Erica retorted, cheeks flushed, though she didn’t pull away from Zia.
Mildred chuckled, enjoying her friend’s reaction. “Just try to keep the scandal to a minimum. This place is filled with hot-blooded teenagers after all. The two of you should find a room and… hehehe.”
The archer’s chuckle made the observing Wanderers understand the implication of her words.
“No way… so Erica swung that way?”
“Wait, isn’t she engaged to Zion Leventis?”
“Well… maybe she is trying to convince that girl to become Zion’s fiance as well.”
“What?! Ugh! Why is the world so unfair?! I want a beautiful girlfriend, too!”
“Zion might have saved the universe in his past life. His luck when it comes to relationships is off the charts.”
As the Wanderers spoke among themselves, Erica couldn’t help but giggle.
“If only they knew that Zion Leventis is the beauty I’m holding right now—I’m sure all their jaws are going to drop in disbelief.”
Zia smiled wryly at Erica’s words, nuzzling the side of her neck for a second before pulling away just enough to meet her eyes.
“Let’s keep that secret a little longer,” Zia whispered. “It’s more fun that way.”
Erica blushed, but nodded, her hand lingering on Zia’s waist as if reluctant to let go completely.
Vincent and Penny, who had also come to the Hero Camp, couldn’t help but whistle at the public display of affection that Zia and Erica were showing everyone.
“Damn, I wish I could tap that a*s,” Penny said with regret.
“Are you mad?” Vincent asked his partner in crime in disbelief. “You’d be dead without knowing how you died if you dare do that.”
“Of course, I won’t do such a stupid thing,” Penny stated. “But if you didn’t know that she’s ’you-know-who’, I’m sure that you will also try to take the initiative to approach her, right?’
Vincent neither confirmed nor denied Penny’s words.
Of course, knowing that Zia was Zion, he didn’t have any intention of doing anything.
But without this knowledge, he believed that Penny was spot on the mark.
Vincent might just have tried to strike a conversation with her, and if possible, get to know her better before asking her hand in marriage.
However, when the thought of marrying Zion appeared inside his head, Vincent felt a shudder run down his spine as if he stepped on something taboo.
“Bro, you need help,” Vincent said to Penny seriously, while trying to erase the thought that he had entertained inside his head a few seconds ago.
Zia glanced at her surroundings and saw familiar faces gathered in the distance.
Roland, Diana, Joshua, Clark, Char, and a few other Wanderers whom she had met in both Pangea and Solterra.
She acknowledged their presence and shared the news that the Jinns would be arriving tomorrow at noon.
After hearing this information, their faces became solemn, but it didn’t last for long.
They had come here to fight the Jinns, and knowing that the battle would take place tomorrow, allowed them to prepare their body and heart for the inevitable.
Zia looked at these teenagers, knowing that many of them might die in the upcoming war.
They no longer had the power of technology by their side, and everyone was reduced to purely relying on their skills and combat experience.
Some of these Wanderers would have no choice but to fight the Jinns up close and personal, which raised the danger that they would face considerably.
“Come,” Erica said before pulling Zia to her tent. “Let’s spend our time wisely. After all, we don’t know what will happen tomorrow.”
Her voice was firm, and yet, it didn’t hide the anxiety that she felt.
This was war.
Even if she did her best to keep herself safe, there was no guarantee that she would be able to survive the battle.
Zia wanted to assure her that everything was going to be fine, but she understood that Erica didn’t need her to say anything.
What she needed was his touch.
The warmth of his skin.
The beating of her heart, right next to her own heart.
And the feeling of being with the person whom she had chosen to spend her lifetime with.
“Let’s go somewhere more private,” Zia said because Erica planned to take her to her tent. “I know a place.”
“Okay.” Erica nodded because there were things that even she didn’t dare to do in a camp filled with Wanderers.
Sherry summoned her Adamantium Falcon, who took them up to the mountain, where Zia’s personal quarters were located.
Knowing that Sherry and Princess Aracelle also wanted to bond with him, Zia locked her room firmly and allowed herself to be pulled onto the bed, where her lovers were waiting for him to calm their wildly beating hearts.
