System's POV - Chapter 1136: Calamity’s Descent [Part 3]

Chapter 1136: Calamity’s Descent [Part 3]
“A beast dares to roar at me?” King Astrion sneered. “Courting death.”
He then summoned his sword and was about to slice the pesky monster in half when a clawed hand appeared a meter away from his face.
A second later, Cranky swatted the Artemian King from the sky, making him crash on the ground.
It didn’t end there. The Honey Badger, whose movements seemed to defy the laws of physics, stomped on the bastard who indirectly hurt its best friend, creating a crater that expanded hundreds of meters wide.
While this was happening, the Tigerkin King, King Atlas, raised his hand.
“Warriors of the Valbarra Archipelago, the time has come to return the favor to our savior!” King Atlas roared. “Defend his world! Defend his people! Defend those whom he holds sacred!”
The Ogre King, who was the most bloodthirsty of them all, raised its club and charged forward while shouting.
“Death!”
“”Death!””
“”Death!””
“”Death!””
All the warriors of the Valbarra Archipelago rushed like a mighty wave, targeting only the Artemian Army right in front of them.
From amidst this overwhelming stampede, a powerful roar was heard.
“Roland! That girl Zia is hot! Introduce me to her later!”
The one who shouted was none other than Taiga, the Hero whom Thirteen had been raising.
Roland, who had briefly returned to Pangea to share Zia’s picture with Taiga, couldn’t help but chuckle.
Taiga had fallen head over heels with Zia, even declaring that he would marry her and Shasha together.
As if confirming his thoughts, Taiga’s roar once again reached his ears.
“Shasha! My Love! I am here!” Taiga roared. “I will meet your family later and ask them for your hand in marriage!”
Arthur, who was hovering in the sky, locked his gaze at the Tigerkin, who was mounted on a Sabertooth Tiger, charging at the enemy’s camp.
A part of him wished to pinch Taiga to oblivion and end the troublemaker’s life.
But he held back.
Seeing that they had come to help them against their enemies, Arthur decided to let the Tigerkin live for a while… The castration could be done after the war was won!
A sudden chill ran down the back of the Tigerkin, who wondered what made him feel that way.
From the Wanderer Camp, all of Shasha’s admirers, including Kane Stallard, who had pursued Shasha for many years, gazed at the bastard Tigerkin with bloodshot eyes.
“You’re dead!” Kane growled as he, too, urged his flying mount to head to Taiga’s direction.
He would make sure that his love rival wouldn’t be able to live to see the sunrise the next day, especially after his bold declaration!
The Jinn Alliance, who found themselves at the center of this carnage, all gazed at Prince Aurelion, who was still in his Dragon Form for orders.
The Dragonkin Prince didn’t even think twice as he faced the Artemians with the intent to battle.
“The Artemians are the enemies!” Prince Aurelion ordered. “Eliminate them all!”
“”Kill!””
“”Kill!””
“”Kill!””
Commander Dravon and Princess Fiora both sighed in relief, earlier worried that the Prince would order them to fight the Wanderers at this time.
It was very obvious which side they should side on, especially since the Artemians had brought a High-Archon with them in this battle.
They knew that if the Honey Badger failed to defeat the King of Artem, it would be their heads that would roll on the ground next.
A beautiful Phoenix flew towards Zed, accompanied by two giant Peacocks.
“How is she?” Princess Aracelle transformed to her human form and looked at the young lady inside the capsule.
“I don’t know,” Zed replied. “I just took her away. We should find a safe place first.”
Princess Aracelle nodded and followed Zed to the peak of the Planar Mountain Range.
The ground shook as if an earthquake was happening, but this was only the side effect of two High-Archons fighting against each other.
The princess glanced at the battlefield for a few seconds before shifting her attention back to Zia.
She then placed her hand over her chest and channeled her divine power to heal her beloved.
As the power of divinity entered the young lady’s body, the Chandrean Bloodline inside of her also stirred.
The two divine powers merged together, rapidly healing the injuries that Zia received during the time she had been used as a power source to open a dimensional gate that led to the Kingdom of Artem.
While this was happening, Cranky and King Astrion were still engaged in a deadly dance of sword, and claws.
Cranky had managed to deal the first blow at the King of Artem, who didn’t know that the giant Honey Badger could move as fast as lightning!
“You mongrel…” Astrion growled, his voice no longer calm or regal. “You dare lay a filthy claw on me?!”
Cranky didn’t respond.
Instead, the Savage Lightning Emperor crouched low, sparks crackling along his body like a living storm about to be unleashed.
His snout wrinkled, baring fangs that seemed to thirst for the blood of kings.
King Astrion shot skyward, with Cranky blurring in pursuit.
Their clash ignited another thunderous collision in the skies above.
Each exchange between them shook the heavens.
Claws met blade.
Red lightning met Golden Lightning.
King Astrion’s red lightning was the power he inherited from the previous King of Artem. It was formed after he became the only powerhouse of the world during his era.
Cranky’s golden lightning came from the tribulation that he shared with Camazotz when Zion crafted his legendary armor, which was made from the scales of a Majin King!
Both lightning possessed a power that far surpassed the norm, and their collision made those who watched from below think that Gods were fighting above their heads.
For every strike Astrion unleashed, Cranky retaliated with a savage blow, each one more primal and more brutal, as if the Honey Badger was carving through not just flesh and armor, but through Astrion’s very arrogance.
On the battlefield below, the Valbarra Warriors had turned into a relentless tide.
Their war cries shook the morale of the Artemian Army. Simultaneously, the Wanderers, Jinns, and even Shasha’s fan club surged forth, overwhelming their enemies in a unified front born of shared fury.
Prince Aurelion, soaring with other Dragons, led a dive attack, his massive dragon form smashing into the enemy’s center with devastating force.
The enemies that he was fighting against earlier were now fighting alongside him, making him feel bitter.
But he understood that he must adapt or be destroyed by the changing times.
As the battlefield turned into a hotpot of chaos, a young lady slowly opened her eyes.
She still felt weak, but she understood that her strength was recovering at a decent pace.
“What’s happening?” Zia asked Zed, who was standing guard beside Princess Aracelle, who was busy healing her.
“The Artemian King has crossed over,” Zed reported. “But Cranky also appeared. He is currently fighting against the Artemian King.”
Thirteen didn’t look too surprised about the news since he understood that the God of Wanderers wouldn’t watch idly as the balance of the world he was guarding was broken.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
Even if The One would have to pay the price for his actions, it believed that it did the right thing, for the Wanderers had shown their bravery, gaining its recognition.
Zia took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
Right now, she needed to focus on her recovery. As soon as she recovered, she would join the battle, for this was a battle that she couldn’t afford to miss.
