System's POV - Chapter 1140: Abrupt Ending

Chapter 1140: Abrupt Ending
“We need to close that gate somehow,” Zia said with a serious expression on her face. “As long as it’s open, the Artemian Army will pour into this world endlessly. We might have the upper hand now, but once their Archons start appearing, we will be in big trouble.”
Everyone around him had the same thought. But was there really a way to close the dimensional gate?
While other people had no idea how to do it, Zia knew what could be done to close the gate.
After all, the gate used the power flowing inside her veins.
What did this mean?
This meant that she alone had the power to close it as well.
But to achieve that, she would have to move close to the Dimensional Gate. The problem was, she had to get really close, which would put her in danger.
’I have no choice,’ Zia thought. ’I have to do this.’
After steeling her resolve, Zia looked at Zed and ordered him to protect her no matter what.
“Erasmus, please accompany me to the Dimensional Gate,” Zia said.
“Understood.” Erasmus nodded as he urged the Wyvern King to fly to the peak of the mountain.
The Lord of Death trusted Thirteen completely.
If his friend wished to go to the Dimensional Gate, he would take him there with him without question.
Thirteen also vaguely understood that Erasmus was under some kind of blessing, allowing him to fight stronger opponents than himself.
While he believed that it was impossible for the Lord of Death to kill the Artemian King, he had a feeling that it was impossible for King Astrion to kill Erasmus as well.
At least for now.
Summoning all the Undead Army that could fly, Erasmus and his undead legion soared towards the dimensional gate, scaring the defenders who knew what the Lord of Death was capable of doing.
They no longer stayed to protect it, but fled, knowing they couldn’t do anything to stop the undead.
A few of their comrades had already died in that manner, and the last thing they wanted was to be among the Lord of Death’s minions after death.
Sherry and Princess Aracelle followed the Undead Army. Both of them were determined to protect their lover no matter what.
If possible, Zia wanted them to stay at the safety of the mountain, but she also understood their personalities. They truly insist on fighting alongside her despite the danger.
This made her more determined to close the dimensional gate no matter what.
If Zia didn’t close it soon, more Archons would follow.
More Azothralls like Azoh’Ran and Azoh’Karn would descend to their world.
More powerful beings they could not fight forever.
With the Wyvern King and Erasmus at the lead, an Undead Flying Horde flew in a tight-knit formation.
Below them, the battlefield trembled.
Retreating Artemians left trails of broken banners and bloodied steel as the Wanderers and the Jinns pushed them back.
But this victory was temporary.
Zia knew that.
And now, so did everyone else.
King Astrion also knew that once his generals arrived at the location of the Dimensional Gate, the tide would tilt to their favor.
He didn’t know what Zia and the Undead Army were planning to do, but he felt that they should be eliminated before they could do something funny.
However, Cranky sensed that Zion was within the Undead Horde that was flying toward the sky.
Because of this, it screeched loudly and attacked King Astrion more savagely, forcing the Atemian King back.
Despite his massive size, Cranky was as fast as a lightning bolt because he was now a Savage Lightning Emperor Honey Badger!
As the Artemian Army helplessly retreated, the Artemians who had just crossed over the dimensional gate were massacred without mercy.
Azoh’Ran had brought Lucan to Camazotz, who was currently injured, before joining its new Master, Erasmus, to the sky.
In fact, it was Azoh’Ran who took care of the Artemians who were crossing over the gate, as if venting its frustration for being betrayed by their King!
Zia stood at the back of the Wyvern King and took a deep breath.
The bloodline power in her body started to stir, making it glow in a golden light.
The young lady then started to write runic symbols in the air, which flew toward the edges of the Dimensional Gate after they were written.
At first, nothing happened, but as more runes stacked up around the dimensional gate, golden lightning once again streaked across its surface.
Some of these lightning bolts even turned the Artemians that just crossed the gate into ash, not even giving them time to scream in pain.
Prince Aurelion, Commander Dravon, and Princess Fiora had also flown to the sky in order to protect Zia. They had no idea what was happening, but they had a feeling that the Princess’ move was to their benefit.
The Undead didn’t attack the Jinns because they were temporarily on the same side.
As the young lady continued to fill the dimensional gate with runes, she could feel her heart beating quickly inside her chest.
A moment later, her body started to release golden particles of light that slowly floated to the gate.
Zia understood what was happening, but she had no time to stop what she was doing.
In fact, she even sped up because she could only use the power of the Chandrean Bloodline as a girl.
Her long hair slowly shortened, making Prince Aurelion, who was paying close attention to her look at her with wide eyes.
As the final rune she had written flew at the center of the gate, Zia raised both of her hands as if in surrender and spoke a single word.
“Skip.”
All the runes then glowed brightly, forming countless magic circles that intersected with each other.
“Nooooooo!” King Astrion shouted in anger as he unleashed his full power to head in the direction of the dimensional gate.
Cranky let out an ear-splitting screech as it clashed against the Artemian King, pushing him aside.
While this was happening, Zia’s transformation finally became undone.
“No way…” Prince Aurelion muttered when he realized that the young lady whom he had fallen in love with was none other than the person whom he couldn’t forgive the most!
“Zion Leveeeeeeeeeeeentis!” Prince Aurelion roared in anger and disbelief as the young man glanced in his direction with a faint smile on his face.
A moment later, the entire battlefield was covered by a blinding golden light, which expanded outward.
When the light receded, everything and everyone within a five-mile radius of where Zion was standing disappeared completely.
The red dimensional gate was no more, and the first all-out war between the three factions came to an abrupt end.
