System's POV - Chapter 1149: A Prince’s Melancholy [Part 2]

Chapter 1149: A Prince’s Melancholy [Part 2]
No one cared about the unconscious Tigerkin who suddenly got heartbroken after realizing that the person he wanted to marry alongside Shasha was actually his supposed-to-be brother-in-law!
Everyone was more curious about Prince Aurelion, who was demanding that Zion transform into Zia to prove that they were one and the same.
“I don’t understand,” Thirteen said. “You already saw me return to my original form when I closed the dimensional gate. What more proof do you need? Lastly, what do you want to do even if I transform into Zia?”
The teenage boy shook his head helplessly before continuing what he was going to say.
“Let’s say that I can transform into Zia at will, so what?” Thirteen crossed his arms over his chest. “Do you think I will marry you or something? I’m sorry, but not only can I not transform into Zia ever, I don’t plan on marrying you either.
“It’s time to move on, Prince Aurelion. How long will you be trapped in the past? We are currently at war, so pull yourself together.”
Prince Aurelion clenched his fists because he, too, didn’t understand why he was clinging to this delusion of his.
He already knew that Zion is Zia, but he was still unwilling and not ready to move on from his infatuation.
She was not only beautiful, but also extremely powerful.
Who could possibly not fall in love with such a lady?
Even now, he had constantly checked Zion’s Rank, and from what he could tell, the teenage boy’s strength was similar to that of a Champion.
However, all the Wanderers stated that Zion’s Rank was that of a rookie.
But Prince Aurelion no longer cared about that.
The only thing he cared about was Zia, whose true identity was Zion.
He was stuck and didn’t know what to do.
During the meetings, he even had the strong impulse to demand that Zion marry him to solidify their alliance.
Although he was a boy right now, he believed that there was some magic or other artifacts that could transform him into a girl, allowing him to once again see the lady he loved.
In fact, the Velmoria Royal Family was capable of doing such a thing.
They could turn guys into girls using their bloodline magic, but there were conditions that must be met to make it work.
One of those conditions was that the man should be willing to become a lady without any form of manipulation, charm, or any mind control powers.
They must agree to it wholeheartedly, or else, the ritual would fail.
“Zion…”
“No. Prince Aurelion, I like being a man. I won’t become a girl for your sake. We have nothing more to discuss. Please leave.”
Prince Aurelion clenched and unclenched his fists as if fighting an internal battle. He was very tempted to kidnap Zion right now, but he knew that this was impossible since Cranky was present.
Also, even if Cranky weren’t there, the Death Bat, Camazotz, was stronger than him.
Last but not the least, he saw how Zia killed Lucan when he had the power of a High-Archon.
The Dragonkin Prince believed that since he could do it once, he could do it again if he pushed Zion to a corner.
The Dragonkin Prince exhaled sharply through his nose, forcing himself to step back.
“This isn’t over,” Prince Aurelion muttered, though even he wasn’t sure whether it was a threat, a promise, or just a stubborn refusal to let go.
Zion didn’t even glance at him. “It’s already over. Stop living in denial.”
The Majin Prince’s pride told him to stay and fight for what he wanted, but instinct told him that staying one second longer would end with his body embedded in a nearby wall.
He turned on his heel and left, each step more reluctant than the last.
A faint chuckle came from the side. It was Shasha. She seemed to have watched the entire thing while leaning casually against a pillar. “You do know that turning down a prince is going to make him chase you harder, right?”
“I’m not a rabbit, so I don’t care,” Zion replied. “You’ve been chased by countless suitors as well, Shasha, but you’re still single.”
“Mmm.” Shasha smiled faintly. “Just don’t be surprised if one day, he tries to show up with flowers, a ring, and a magic ritual to turn you into his dream girl.”
Zion gave her a flat look. “And if that happens, I’ll give him the same answer I just gave him: No. And then I’ll ask Cranky to give him a thrashing.”
The Honey Badger seemed satisfied with Zion’s words and even nodded his head in agreement.
Shasha then walked toward her brother, who had been busy since the day he returned to Casimir City with Erica, Hans, Cristopher, Vincent, and Hugo.
“Grandpa wants us to have dinner together as a family,” Shasha whispered. “He said that you can bring your fiancees with you.”
“Okay.” Zion nodded. “Where will we meet later? Do we need a dress code?”
“No need for a dress code,” Shasha answered. “Grandpa knows that you don’t care for trivial things like this. He just wants you to be there. The reason why I am the one asking you is because he is worried that if he personally invites you, you will turn him down.”
“He’s right, you know?” Thirteen smiled faintly.
“Make sure you go, okay?”
“Mmm. I’ll be there.”
After delivering his message, Shasha walked away. But when she passed Taiga, the Tigerkin immediately regained consciousness and greeted Shasha. He then chatted with her, but the young lady would at most answer with a word or two.
Thirteen watched his sister and the Tigerkin like a hawk until they disappeared in the distance.
The Wanderers, the Solterrans, and the Jinns had formed an alliance, and frankly, he believed that even if they won this war against the Artemians, the world of Pangea would never be the same again.
Some things were irreversible, but it wasn’t all that bad.
Zion’s goal was to let the Wanderers and the Jinns co-exist with each other.
It might be hard at first, but it wasn’t impossible.
Time was all they needed, and as long as they could defeat the Artemians, a new era would dawn.
It would affect not only the Cygni Continent but the Rigel Continent as well.
As for the Antares Continent, the first continent to fall into the hands of the Jinns, Zion already had plans for them.
But for now, his main focus was defeating the Artemians, who were currently preparing for a war they believed they could win using their advanced technology and cunning.
