Chapter 1432: Thirteen’s Strategy
A certain someone had been over the moon ever since he heard Shasha was in the Valbarra Archipelago.
The person in question was none other than Taiga, also known as Percival by his family.
He urged his father to hurry to go to the Heroes Monument, but when he arrived, he saw Shasha sleeping with Remi on Cranky’s chest.
The smile on the Tigerkin’s face stiffened upon recognizing the affectionate gaze Cranky gave to Shasha.
It was then that Taiga realized—in order to win Shasha’s affection, he must first defeat Cranky… which was probably not possible in his lifetime.
With a heavy, deep sigh, his gaze landed on Remi, who was sleeping right next to her sister. While she wasn’t as gorgeous as his first love, Remi had the makings of a future beauty.
And for some reason, seeing her sleep peacefully made his heart skip a beat.
Suddenly, Thirteen sensed something, prompting him to glance in Taiga’s direction. He then followed where the Tigerkin was looking at and understood everything at once.
“I guess it’s time to invite Taiga to go fishing,” Thirteen muttered. “But I must make it look like an accident, so his family won’t suspect anything.
At that moment, Taiga felt a chill run down his spine, as if a predator had locked on to him. He looked at his surroundings to check where this feeling of dread was coming from.
To his dismay, he didn’t find anything that could pinpoint the reason why he suddenly felt anxious.
“Um, Zion?” Dantanian patted the teenage boy’s shoulder. “Do you have a plan to give us an advantage in this battle?”
Zion looked at him. “That depends on the time they’ll take to reach the Fortunate Isles. If Forneus helps, I can create a formation that can help us a bit in battle.
“Wormwood also has to dig his roots deep on the island and become a fortress. Forneus will fight them at sea and summon his Sea Monster army to deal with the small fries.
“You will have to deal with the others. As for Cranky, it will take him at least one month to fully recover. The only strategy I can think of right now is for us to constantly move to different locations. I believe we can throw them off long enough for our allies to prepare for battle.”
Dantanian’s eyes widened in shock. This strategy was indeed a good one.
Since their enemies could track their location, what better way than to take them to a wild goose chase, which would annoy the living sh*t out of their enemies.
“But the success of this strategy heavily depends on you, Dantanian,” Thirteen stated. “You will hold the keys in your hand, and travel around the world. Go as far as you can, then continue to travel to random places. Don’t let yourself get surrounded.
“As long as you can buy us time, I will definitely create a place where we can fight to our heart’s content.”
Forneus snorted, but he had to admit that he was lucky to have Zion on his side. The strategy of the teenage boy was on point, and this would indeed make Zaphiel and his Celestial Army very frustrated.
“I understand. So I’ll take Wormwood’s Key, your Key, and Stella’s Key,” Dantanian clenched his fists. “I can do this. Leave it to me!”
“No.” Thirteen shook his head. “You will only take Wormwood’s Key and Stella’s Key. I can hide my own key. Don’t worry, I’m confident no one will sense it.”
Thirteen didn’t plan to put all of his eggs in a single basket. There was a possibility that Zaphiel and his Allies could find a way to corner Dantanian and steal the keys from him.
To prepare for any threats, Thirteen planned to hand the key to someone who could keep it safe for his sake.
And that person was none other than Metatron.
As long as the Key of Pride was in his hands, no one would be able to take it.
The God of the Apocalypse lived in a separate dimension. Even if the Celestials were to force themselves into the Domain of the Apocalypse, the only thing they would find there was a Sadistic God who would happily play with them in his own nefarious ways.
“Are you sure the key will not be found in that location?” Dantanian asked, half in doubt. Although he understood that Zion was very smart and mysterious, he felt a little anxious since he didn’t know Zaphiel’s method to pinpoint the location of the keys.
If Zaphiel decided to hunt a stationary key instead of following Dantanian around, Zion and his allies would be in danger.
“You should worry more about yourself,” Thirteen said. “We should always have a backup plan in case they find a way to catch you.”
“Well, you’re not wrong,” Dantanian admitted.
He was indeed fast—extremely fast. However, that didn’t make him invincible. If the Celestials had indeed found a method to trap him in place, his speed alone would not help him escape from their encirclement.
“Very well. Starting tomorrow, I’ll take them on a wild goose chase,” Dantanian promised. “And when I feel like I’m cornered, I’ll head straight back to the Fortunate Isles, okay?”
“That’s fine,” Thirteen nodded. “As long as you can stall for a month, then the place where we will make our last stand will be ready.”
“I sure hope so.” Dantanian sighed. “Hah… this reminds me of the time when the Celestials and the Fiends had a great war against each other. Back then, we thought there wouldn’t be a second time. Zaphiel’s ambition really breaks the balance.”
“Zaphiel might not be entirely responsible for all this,” Thirteen replied. “If there’s a mastermind hiding behind his back, they wouldn’t be easy to deal with.”
Forneus arched an eyebrow. He never thought of this possibility.
In his eyes, Zaphiel was prideful and arrogant. It was difficult to imagine that he’d lower himself to be someone else’ s subordinate.
But Thirteen knew that there was one faction out there in the void who liked to promise people that they could grant any wish they wanted as long as they collaborated with them.
While he only had suspicions for now, he believed that the Infernals might have a hand in Zaphiel’s search for the keys.
This was their usual Modus Operandi—find a willing ally in a distant world who would help them open a gate, then bring the entirety of their race to descend and conquer the world through sheer strength.
