System's POV - Chapter 1434: You’ll Get Used To It

Chapter 1434: You’ll Get Used To It
“I’m finally back.” Dantanian smiled inwardly as he stood atop the cliff overlooking the place once called “Fractured Heaven.”
The Wanderers who had been with Zion back when he was here shared his stories a lot, eventually reaching Dantanian’s ears. Out of curiosity, he had come to confirm those rumors.
Fractured Heaven was located at the easternmost-edge of Solterra. The land used to be completely separated from the main continent due to a seal that prevented the rampage of Jinns hundreds of years ago.
Now that they had once again joined the bigger world, its inhabitants started to expand outward, meeting other races and claiming territories that had yet to be claimed.
“Now I just need to stay here for a while.” Dantanian rubbed his chin. “Am I right, Zion?”
Coiled around his neck was Tiona’s clone. This allowed him to talk to Zion anytime. The teenage boy deemed that he needed a way to communicate with Dantanian at all times, allowing both sides to understand their current situation.
Thirteen would update Dantanian about the state of their island fortress, while Dantanian would update him if Zaphiel’s Army had appeared at his location.
“Yes,” Thirteen replied. “Act like a proper bait. Don’t talk to me unless it’s absolutely important. I’m concentrating here right now.”
“Oops, sorry!” Dantanian. “You do what you need to do, I’ll just explore a bit here.”
Tiona’s clone then stopped the exchange in communication and waited for its next instructions.

Somewhere in the Fortunate Isles…
Thirteen was currently in one of the houses abandoned by the Beastkins who once lived on the island.
“You said you are concentrating right now,” Stella said with a blush. “But why are you… you know? Doing that with Tiona?”
The young lady couldn’t help but complain because the young man’s face was currently resting on Tiona’s chest.
She had taken her Demihuman form and was taking care of her Master’s needs at the moment.
Thirteen was too sleepy to reply, so he no longer bothered and simply closed his eyes.
Tiona moved a bit to make his sleep more comfortable on the bed.
“Master used a lot of mental power after creating runes earlier,” Tiona explained. “He needs time to recover. Since you’re now his girlfriend, why don’t you learn this as well?”
“I-I’ll think about it!” Stella replied.
Tiona smiled faintly as she continued to lightly brush Zion’s head with her hand, as if helping him calm down so he could peacefully sleep.
She hadn’t lied when she said that Thirteen was currently exhausted. However, she was the one that took the initiative to let her master cuddle with her.
Tiona deliberately did this until Stella found it normal and natural when they were together. That way, when only Stella was left with Zion, she’d know how to help their lover recover as fast as possible.
Just the thought of letting the teenage boy rest his head on her naked chest was enough for Stella to turn beet red.
Still, after everything that happened in Hestia, she would be lying if she said that she wasn’t interested in him.
Someone who had been able to fight on par with his father, and even beat her, and her mother’s record in Archery was no ordinary person.
Her sisters back in her homeworld were asking her if she didn’t want Zion because they were very interested in taking her place.
Of course, she told them that he was off limits because Zion had already proposed to her… well technically had proposed to her.
Since the battle between him and her father stemmed from his intention to have a relationship with her, Stella couldn’t possibly say she wasn’t moved by his actions.
But there was one thing that bugged her.
The sudden shift in Zion’s interest in her.
She knew for a fact that the teenage boy only treated her as a friend. Even during the time when they were soaked in Aphrodisiac, he didn’t make any move on her.
That proved that his will was strong and that he wouldn’t easily bend.
Unfortunately, the Key of Lust seemed to have awakened something inside of him that should have been left alone.
Even so, Stella was wondering if Zion would have pounced on her, while he was still under the effects of the divine key’s power.
A part of her felt anxious, while the other part seemed to be looking forward to it.
He wondered if he would treat her the same way as he treated his other lovers.
“He really looks tired,” Stella said softly after observing Thirteen’s face that was resting on Tiona’s chest. He was sleeping quite peacefully… like a baby.
“You’ll get used to it,” Tiona replied.
Unlike Thirteen’s other lovers, Tiona could now see the threads of destinies that fluttered on her Master’s finger.
Since the golden thread connected him and Stella, she understood that the young lady shared a special connection with Zion that would last for a lifetime.
“…You say that this is a daily routine?” Stella asked.
“It is,” Tiona replied calmly.
Stella nearly choked. “W-What?!”
Tiona tilted her head slightly, her long silver hair cascading over her shoulders. “Master often overuses his mind. When he does, physical contact helps stabilize his thoughts. It grounds him.
“When he was preparing for war against Arundel, he had it tough. He had no one to help relieve his exhaustion, and he was like a zombie moving on autopilot. It almost broke my heart back then.”
No one had worked harder than Zion during the battle against Arundel and his army.
Since he was the only one who knew how to use Rune Magic back then, he had to do everything himself.
Anyone else would have collapsed from exhaustion, but Zion persevered. The most amazing part about all that was that during that time, Zion was only seven years old.
Tiona looked at his Master fondly. Right now, he was once again about to fight beings stronger than his current rank.
She wished she could help him more, but she understood that if she tried to help him, she would only get in his way.
This was why she decided to help him during the time when he was off work and ensure that he was resting properly.
She also understood that time may not be on their side. Although Dantanian was the fastest Fiend in Solterra, she still felt anxious for some reason.
’I hope I’m just overthinking things,’ Tiona thought.
She didn’t know that somewhere out there, the Celestial Army was working day and night to create an inescapable net for the Fiend of Many Faces.
