Chapter 1440: The Final Boss Of The Trial Of Courage [Part 3]
Belial looked at his reflection in the mirror and confirmed that his eye had fully regenerated.
One of the reasons he dared to act however he wanted was his Unique Ability, Hyper Regeneration.
No matter what injury he received, as long as it wasn’t fatal, it would regenerate immediately. Of course, this skill wasn’t omnipotent.
Although he could heal in just a few seconds, he had to pay for it with his stamina. The only saving grace was that he didn’t lack stamina.
Even Forneus didn’t want to fight against Belial for this reason. Although not completely the same as him, the other party was nearly immortal.
Pharzuph was a good distance away, seated on top of a rock and seemed to be meditating.
They were already outside of the arena, having decided to stop fighting against each other, as well as against Zion.
Of course, neither had the humility to admit that they had mainly quit out of frustration.
Their opponent was simply a very slippery eel that couldn’t be caught. Landing a hit didn’t even seem possible.
Zaphiel’s outburst was the perfect opportunity given to them to call it quits. This excuse prevented them from losing face, which they had already lost earlier.
“What are we going to do now?” Rahab asked.
“What else?” Zaphiel asked back. “Challenge this trial one more time.”
“I’ll pass,” Rahab crossed his arms over his chest. “I’m only here because I have a beef with Forneus. Unless we’re fighting Forneus, I’ll just sit back and watch.”
Zaphiel nodded. “Don’t worry. You don’t have to do anything but watch.”
He gathered the Fiends and Celestials because he believed he was doing the right thing.
For them, Solterra was a cage that was keeping them from going out to a bigger, wider world.
Zaphiel believed that the other Fiends, and Celestials also wanted to try their hands in conquest.
They were now the rulers of Solterra, so why not conquer other worlds outside of it?
This notion caught Belial’s interest, for he was indeed seeking a new challenge. Pharzuph was also curious about the culture of other worlds, so he also decided to join the bandwagon.
But there were those who were content with the status quo, namely Dantanian and Wormwood.
As for the rest… they just moved according to what they believed in was right.
Zaphiel glanced at the gate of the arena and took a step forward. This time, he would be the one taking the challenge.
Since the trial was “fair,” he decided to fight alone, allowing him full control of the situation.
When the message of whether they wanted to join the battle or spectate appeared in front of Belial and Pharzuph, both didn’t hesitate to click spectate.
They wanted to see if Zaphiel would fare better compared to them. But deep inside, the two Fiends wished the teenage boy would also knock the arrogant Celestial off his high horse!
When Zaphiel regained his senses, he was already in the arena, facing the same young man whom Belial and Pharzuph had fought earlier.
He glanced at the audience stands and saw Belial sneering at him, while Pharzuph gave him a playful wave of his hand.
Rahab remained calm with his arms crossed over his chest. He wanted to see if Zaphiel would be able to triumph against the last hurdle that would allow them to claim the divine keys.
“Before we start, I would like to ask a question,” Zaphiel said. “Can you talk?”
“I can,” Thirteen’s clone replied. “What is your question?”
“Do you have the Divine Keys with you?” Zaphiel asked. “They are supposed to be in the possession of my colleague, Dantanian. He stole it from us, and we are pursuing him because of that.”
Thirteen’s clone smiled faintly. “Are you talking about these keys?”
He showed the Divine Key of Sloth and Divine Key of Lust to Zaphiel, making the latter’s gaze widen.
“Indeed, those are my keys,” Zaphiel stated. “Can I have them back?”
“No.” Thirteen’s clone shook his head. “But you can get them if you beat me. After all, Dantanian gave it to me as a prize for the next challenger who will pass the trial.”
After hearing the full story, Rahab, Belial, and Pharzuph had to admit that Dantanian managed to cause trouble for them in a different kind of way.
But as long as they were able to defeat their opponent, the keys would belong to them.
“Very well. Let’s fight,” Zaphiel declared before summoning two swords of light. “I will not go easy on you.”
Thirteen’s clone smirked, and took a pose with his twin daggers.
An eternity later…
“Bwahahaha!” Belial laughed out loud as he looked at Zaphiel, who couldn’t raise his head from shame and embarrassment.
“Bravo!” Pharzuph clapped his hands. “I never laughed so hard for the past hundreds of years. Thank you! I will remember this for the rest of my life!”
The two Fiends reveled in the suffering of others.
Zaphiel came to the Colosseum brimming with confidence. But he left with a bruised pride.
“Shut up!” Zaphiel roared in anger. “The two of you didn’t do any better! In fact, you did worse than me!”
“Awwww, did we hit a nerve?” Belial chuckled. “Oh dear, what should we do? Do you want me to lend you my shoulder, so you can cry on it?”
“F*ck off!” Zaphiel hatefully kicked the annoying Fiend, who was sent flying.
But instead of being angry, Belial only laughed, still lying on the ground. Clearly, it found the entire situation extremely funny.
Only Rahab didn’t laugh. He had watched the battle from start to finish, learning the teenage boy’s attack patterns.
However, just when he thought he had predicted the young man’s next move, Thirteen would use something unexpected, throwing Rahab’s and Zaphiel’s prediction in disarray.
Even Zaphiel had to admit that he had never fought someone as sly and slippery as the human boy he faced.
Although Thirteen’s clone seemed like he could easily perish with a single hit, that single hit seemed impossible to land.
“What do we do now?” Rahab asked.
He asked a simple question, but the answer to that wasn’t that simple.
In the end, the two Fiends and Celestial decided to fight together at the same time. They hoped that their combination and coordination would allow them to get the upper hand.
But that was a mistake.
They only made Thirteen’s Clone stronger, and with such power, he didn’t have any trouble in wiping the floor with his opponents, who were now starting to curse Dantanian for the trouble that he had brought them!
