System's POV - Chapter 1460: Zaphiel’s Desperation [Part 1]

Chapter 1460: Zaphiel’s Desperation [Part 1]
A tiny mistake could cost Camazotz his life. He knew that very well.
Despite knowing that his opponent was a Celestial, one of the Apex Beings in the world of Solterra, he still resolved himself to fight.
The previous him wouldn’t have done such a dangerous thing. But after fighting alongside Thirteen and Cranky against the Majin King, something in him changed.
Perhaps it was the sight of Cranky fearlessly sacrificing himself to protect Thirteen. Or maybe it was the teenage boy’s touching display of fighting against the Majin King to avenge his friend.
Witnessing both scenes had moved him. Since then, Camazotz longed to experience the same thing, even pestering Cranky to be his sworn brother.
In the end, the Honey Badger had been pestered into agreeing. If it had a choice, it didn’t want to. But the Death Bat was too annoying, and Cranky wanted his peace back.
Surprisingly, it didn’t take long for Cranky to appreciate Camazotz. The Death Bad had grown bolder, always present whenever he needed help.
The Celestial, Dumah, might surpass the Death Bat in strength. However, Camazotz had something the Celestial didn’t—extraordinary speed.
He was probably the fastest being in Solterra, right next to Dantanian.
When Metatron had opened the treasury, allowing them to pick any item they wanted, the Death Bat asked the God of Apocalypse if there was any item there that could further increase his speed.
And he got the answer he wanted.
“The Pill of Flash,” Metatron said before presenting Camazotz a small, ornate box that contained a single red pill. “If you consume it, you will be twice as fast as you are now.”
The moment Camazotz consumed the pill, his speed instantly doubled, giving him the confidence to face off against one of the strongest beings in the world.
Right now, he was a glass cannon. With the help of his two Divine Artifacts, he was able to punch and deal damage to the Celestial of Silence, Dumah, despite the difference in ranks.
Divine Weapons were truly powerful. It allowed even a Majin Prince to have an edge against an opponent several times stronger than him.
But Zion knew that Dumah had yet to fight at full strength.
The same could be said for the other Celestials and Fiends. Once they were truly pushed into a corner, they could unleash their seals and forcefully raise their strengths to that of a Demigod.
And once that happened, the Forces of the Apocalypse would be as good as wiped out before they could regret their decision to aid Thirteen.
Fortunately, the Celestials and Fiends were too prideful to do that. They didn’t want their colleagues to think that a bunch of insects could force them to go all out in a battle.
Little did they know that Thirteen was using his formation to strengthen his allies in battle.
The members of the Order of the Apocalypse felt their strength drastically increasing. The three Majin Kings even thought that they were about to break through the Fiend Rank thanks to the boost they received from Zion.
But becoming a Fiend wasn’t that easy.
In any case, they were much stronger than before, which boosted their confidence.
“Aren’t you going to join them?” Mammon asked Apollyon in a teasing tone.
“How about you join them instead?” Apollyon replied with a smirk.
“No thanks.” Mammon snorted.
Apollyon didn’t make any further comment and simply watched the battle unfold.
They were outside Dumah’s Domain of Silence, but they could clearly see what was happening inside.
Some Jinns had appeared to help Zion face off against the Celestials, and a glance was enough to tell that they were able to fight on par with their strength.
Barman was facing three Majin Kings, and their coordination was truly annoying.
Two of them dealt damage to him, while the third one focused on defense.
To his surprise, even when he stopped holding back on his blows, the Shieldbearer of the three Majin King party could still neutralize all of his attacks.
If not for Dumah’s Domain of Silence, he would have already asked Baal what kind of shield he was holding.
To make matters worse, Beelzebub’s sword attacks were also putting great pressure on him.
The Sword of Freyr was a Divine Weapon that would automatically attacks it enemies. It only needed someone to hold its handle, and they would become one with the sword.
Beelzebub had never even wielded a sword before, yet he fought like he had been using the sword since the day he was born.
Sparks flew as the sword and Barman’s spear clashed repeatedly. If this was a one on one battle, or even two versus two, the smartest of the Celestials might have gotten the upperhand.
But Zagan was wielding the Storm Mace of Enlil. Each of its strikes carried the force of a tempest, forcing Barman to be on the defensive!
Anael, the Celestial of Love, Passion, and Sexuality, was facing off against Kamrusepa, Paimon, and Zapar.
Kamrusepa held a mirror that absorbed the Charm Skills and every single debuff Anael unleashed on them, frustrating the Celestial to no end.
Paimon held a torch that amplified the power of her flames.
As for Zapar? His ability was the most annoying to Anael since they shared the same origin.
The power to charm the opposite sex. But Zapar had long created a skill that made those who were immune to his powers feel an itch in their skin that wouldn’t go away.
This ability was more irritating than deadly. However, it didn’t change the fact that Anael was so annoyed with Zapar that he focused his deadly skills in his direction.
Unfortunately, Zapar had already expected this, so he repeatedly hid behind Kamrusepa, who was holding a Divine Mirror.
Not only could it absorb magical abilities, it could also reflect attacks back to their owners.
Metatron had briefed them who to fight the moment they helped Zion. The other members of the Apocalypse were on standby, protecting the teenage boy just in case Apollyon or Mammon made a move on him.
Zaphiel didn’t expect that Forneus’ side would suddenly have reinforcements that could fight on par with Celestials.
While this had put a dent on his plans, he still had some other trump cards that he could use to tilt the situation to their side.
However, he was hesitant to use them because a price must be paid.
After a brief internal battle, Zaphiel greeted his teeth and backed away.
“You all forced me to do this!” Zaphiel took out a red orb from his pocket and threw it up to the sky.
Thirteen narrowed his eyes because he was expecting that something like this to happen.
“I see… So you have joined hands with the Infernals,” Thirteen said calmly.
Zaphiel was surprised that the human knew about the Infernals, but that was no longer important.
The red orb had shattered and summoned a red portal that expanded at a rapid rate.
The same thing had happened in the world of Artem, so Thirteen already knew what was going to happen next.
The young man immediately sent a retreat signal to his allies, telling them to return to his side and prepare themselves for a defensive battle.
Suddenly, a gigantic hand passed through the hundred-meter portal. The hand was so big that it was the only thing that could pass through the portal!
Sensing it couldn’t bring its entire body through the portal, it withdrew its hand.
A moment later, a pair of hands grabbed the edges of the portal, forcing it to expand further.
The sound of countless glasses breaking reached everyone’s ears as the red portal formed cracks in the sky.
“What have you done?!” Rahab shouted at Zaphiel, momentarily stopping his clash with Forneus. “Have you gone mad, Zaphiel?!”
“I should have done this in the first place,” Zaphiel replied with a sneer. “This would have made things easier!”
The other Celestials and Fiends stared in horror as a giant’s face peeked out from the red portal that was now at least two-hundred meters wide.
“Um… Thirteen, can we go back to the Domain of the Apocalypse now?” Camazotz asked anxiously. “I-I think this is getting dangerous.”
“You think?” Paimon glared at the Death Bat, whom she thought had stopped being a scaredy cat.
However, deep inside, she also wanted to escape back to the safety of the Order.
The giant was emitting a power that surpassed even Celestials, making her feel weak.
One of the Great Warlords of the Infernals had answered Zaphiel’s call. But a Warlord never fought alone.
It had tens of thousands of subordinates, all bred to conquer worlds and make them their own.
From within the Domain of the Apocalypse, a God leaned on his throne. He then rested his head on the palm of his right hand and drummed the armrest of his throne.
“So it has begun,” Metatron muttered. “I hope you prepared enough, The One and Laplace Demon.”
The God of the Apocalypse had always known that this time would eventually come. And now that it was here, the world of Solterra was bound to face the first threat of many to come—invaders that had set their sights on their world.
