Chapter 1488: The Thirteenth Son Of Heaven [Part 1]
As the minutes ticked by, the faces of the Fiends and Celestials grew paler.
Zaphiel distanced himself from his colleagues, choosing a location with a great view of what was about to happen.
Suddenly, a sound similar to hundreds of thunderclaps booming at the same time reverberated in the heavens.
In fact, the sky surrounding the red portal now had thin cracks that spread like spiderwebs.
A moment later, pieces of the sky literally fell to the ground as the red portal expanded.
It was then that a powerful pressure descended from the void, forcing the Celestial and Fiends to their knees.
“Damn it!” Forneus tried to stand up, but it was simply impossible for him to even raise his head. The pressure was too overwhelming, pressing on his whole body.
However, a minute later, the pressure disappeared. Forneus anxiously looked up at the sky and saw countless Infernals pouring out of the giant portal like a waterfall.
He would have attacked them right away, but he didn’t dare to make a move after sensing the gaze of a powerful being locked onto his body.
The other Celestials and Fiends felt it too. None of them dared to make a move and could only watch helplessly as the Infernals covered the entire sky of Godfall Cradle.
“I will give you all a chance to submit and become my subjects.”
“A calm voice spread in the surroundings. All of you will enjoy the freedom of seeing countless worlds that will open your eyes. You will no longer be a frog in a well, who only knows what exists in your world.
“You can all travel to distant stars as long as you become part of my army. I will lead you to make everything in this universe our own.”
Zaphiel remained silent. He even had an amused smile plastered on his face as he watched his colleagues kneel in submission.
He felt no pressure landing on his body as he had already made a contract with a Warlord of the Infernals. Technically, he was now one of them, and the Supreme Commander paid him no mind either.
“So what are your answers?” the Supreme Commander asked. “Will you submit? Or turn to ash under the heel of my army?”
But before any of them could answer, someone else answered for them.
“The only people intimidated by your lofty speech are those who don’t know better. If you’re really as strong as you claim to be, why don’t you cross over to this side?
“If you can’t even do that, stop acting like you’re a big shot. I’m getting secondhand embarrassment listening to you, poser.”
Upon hearing his words, Forneus and Dantanian felt that the weight pressing down on them disappear completely.
They then looked at the teenage boy, who hovered between them and the infernal army.
Thirteen’s expression remained unfazed as he glanced at the enemy’s numbers.
“Oh… I’ve been dying to meet you, Thirteen,” the Supreme Commander of the Infernals, Azhuriel, replied. “I’ve been told so many things about you, and it seems that they aren’t mere exaggerations.”
“The only exaggeration here is the fact that you can talk smack and not feel embarrassed of yourself,” Thirteen replied. “Even my no-good father doesn’t act like a total twat the way you do.”
Dantanian took out a note from his pocket and started scribbling the words Thirteen was using. He intended to use them in the future so he would also look and sound cool like him!
“A mere mortal dares to challenge our God?!” a Demigod glared at the young man. “You’re courting death!”
“I’m not courting death,” Thirteen replied. “It’s you who’s courting death, you… F*cker.”
As if waiting for that moment, a portal opened behind the teenage boy, and Athena’s full-powered beam strike shot out without warning.
The Demigod who talked down on Zion, along with those behind him, was annihilated in an instant.
The other Demigods in the scene all looked at the “mere mortal” in shock, for this was the first time they had seen something as devastating as that attack.
“The next one who interrupts me will suffer the same fate,” Thirteen bluffed. “I can do this all day.”
Dantanian kept on scribbling while muttering things like, “damn that’s so cool!” under his breath.
The Fiend of Many Faces then tapped Cranky’s shoulder and asked Cranky if Zion had any other sister aside from Shasha.
The corner of Cranky’s mouth twitched. He refused to answer, pretending that he didn’t hear the Fiend’s attempt to court death.
Above them, the Infernal Army had gone silent.
A Demigod had just been erased.
Not injured.
Not just defeated.
Erased.
Even the Infernals who had lived for thousands of years had never seen anything like it.
Azhuriel, the Supreme Commander, didn’t look angry.
Instead, he started laughing.
“Hahahaha…”
The Infernal’s Supreme Commander laughed as if he found something truly amusing.
“So it’s true,” Azhuriel said as he lowered his hand. “You truly are… interesting. But the only ones who will believe your bluff are those who don’t know better. I dare you to do that again.”
“Okay.” Thirteen snapped his finger, and three portals appeared behind his back.
Countless beams shot past them, and the biggest one erased another Demigod from the face of the world.
When it was done, the proud Demigods at the frontlines all backed away and hid themselves among their minions.
At that moment, a scoff escaped Thirteen’s lips before he asked a question.
“What were you saying earlier?” Thirteen asked. “I think I didn’t hear you properly. Maybe you should come down here and talk to me personally. Maybe, just maybe, I can believe that you’re truly as omnipotent and omniscient as you claim to be.
“Or are you saying you can’t even kill a mere mortal like me? What kind of pathetic excuse of a God are you?”
“Oh… My… God.” Dantanian was “fangirling” right now. He was even half tempted to start a religion, enshrining Thirteen as a deity.
The beams that came out of the portals behind him earlier weren’t Athena’s beam strike.
They were Nautilus full-powered beam strikes, which he had enhanced by ten times when he was still in Pangea.
Of course, Nautilus could only use that attack once and would revert to its regular beam strike. It was still strong, just not enough to insta-kill a Demigod.
Even so, he had already made his point across, making him look like some powerhouse that could talk to their Supreme Commander in even terms and kill two Demigods right under Azhuriel’s nose.
