System's POV - Chapter 1491: Ride Of The Valkyries [Part 1]

Chapter 1491: Ride Of The Valkyries [Part 1]
“Shields up!” the officers of the Central Government shouted at the same time.
Force Fields rose and blocked the incoming attacks from the Infernals. To their surprise, the shields held and endured the punishment.
They were powered by the special ores that mined from the Rigel Continent, and they were now being put to use for the first time in history.
Thirteen had long expected this war. As part of his preparation, he had shared the blueprints for equipment and items meant for large-scale battles like this.
He had asked the Central Government and the Leventis Family to create as many weapons as they could regardless of the expenses.
And now, they were benefiting from following Thirteen’s orders.
The Demigods knew this couldn’t continue, so they made their move and ordered their subordinates to follow them to battle.
They could now understand why the weapons of their enemies could overwhelm them despite the difference in rank.
However, this must not continue!
“Thirteen, can you handle those Demigods?” Camazotz asked.
“I can’t,” Thirteen replied. “Although they are called Demigods, they don’t actually possess any kind of divinity. Also, I’m saving my strength for the Pseudo-Gods. You should handle them yourselves.”
“Hah… fine,” Camazotz scratched his head. “Go Paimon. Blast them. I’ll protect you!”
“Make sure to do that!” Paimon conjured her purple flames and transformed them into a sentient army. “Attack!”
She was a Majin Princess. Although the Infernals were numerous, those numbers were only made up of small fries!
The Pseudo-Gods, also known as the Warlords of the Infernals, numbered over forty. They remained by their Supreme Commander’s side and watched the battle with smiles on their faces.
They knew the moment they intervened, the resistance of the Wanderers would cease to exist. But where was the fun in that?
Since they were proud of their army, they would simply watch and see their enemies get swallowed up by a swarm that had conquered countless worlds!
Suddenly, they sensed several presences coming from the sky.
Countless shooting stars descended from the heavens, painting the world in streaks of blazing flames.
The sudden intrusion from outside forces caught the Infernals by surprise, with some of them instantly incinerated by the objects raining upon them.
Whenever these objects exploded, something would jump off of them and engage the infernals in battle.
“Azothralls!” The Grand Marshal of the Central Government, Lawrence, gasped in shock. No one had expected this development.
“Looks like my no-good grandson fared well in Artem.” Arthur smirked. “Now this is what you call a sight for sore eyes.”
The Monarchs by his side nodded in agreement. They were busy fending off the enemies trying to bypass their defenses.
The arrival of the Azothralls had helped them take a breather, while Laplace Demon, the Fiends, and the Celestials, fought against the Demigods.
More portals materialized in the surroundings, and the denizens of Solterra joined the battle.
The God of Wanderers, The One, had already sent a vision to the oracles of the various kingdoms, urging them to prepare for war.
And now that war had finally arrived, they, too, would join the Wanderers in defending their home world.
The battle turned fierce, both sides incurring countless casualties every passing minute.
This was the battle that would decide the fate of their world, and the Solterrans and the Pangeans had no intention of backing down.
The Azothralls continued to rain from the sky, and among the falling objects from the heavens, two of them were larger than the rest.
When they fell on the Infernal Army and obliterated everyone blocking their path, the surface of the falling object cracked.
Suddenly, it exploded into sharp shrapnels, shredding those nearby.
“I’m here, Thirteen!” Erasmus, also known as Cassiel, had come with the Army from Artem.
Of course, he wasn’t alone. Queen Miriamelle also arrived, not planning to stand idly as Thirteen fought the invaders who had once tried to take over her domain.
But even with the reinforcements from the Solterrans and the Artemians, the disparity in strength was still huge.
The Demigods killed people left and right, grinning at the fact that their enemies couldn’t stop them.
At first, they were wary of the beam attacks that had killed two of their people. But nothing as powerful as that came close since the battle started, giving them the confidence to move across the battlefield unhindered.
Still, none of them dared to come close to Thirteen because they felt wary of him.
“This is bad,” Camazotz commented. “If this continues, we are going to lose.”
The Infernals were simply too numerous, and the defenders were slowly losing their ground. A single look revealed the clear disparity between the high-ranking fighters of both sides.
Even though Laplace Demon could fight five Demigods on its own, the rest had free reign in decimating their forces.
Even Forneus had no choice but to use his serpent form to tank attacks to protect the defenders.
The pitiful giant serpent was now bleeding all over, as the Infernals focused their attacks on him.
“Help me, Zion!” Forneus shouted.
“Suck it up, Forneus,” Thirteen replied. “It will take more than killing you to kill you.”
“#$&#^$*&^#!” The Fiend could only curse out loud at the cold response that was coming from the young man.
But Thirteen wasn’t just watching the battle. He was carefully finding the right opportunity to strike.
And that moment had finally arrived.
“All of you stay here,” Thirteen then took out the pill Metatron had given him a long time ago.
This was none other than the Titan Pill. This pill would drastically boost the strength of anyone who ate it, surpassing their current rank.
Thirteen’s fighting prowess had reached the level of a Throne. After consuming this pill, his strength would rise to that of a Monarch, becoming one of the strongest existences in both Solterra, and Pangea.
That alone wasn’t enough, but he was fine with that.
A black armor covered his entire body, making sure to keep him safe. This was none other than his Soul Eater Armor, which he had customized over the years.
“The One!” Thirteen shouted. “Do it now!”
The golden sun unleashed a beam of light that struck the back of the teenage boy, making his lovers cry out in shock as they thought that the God of Wanderers had killed Zion.
But a moment later, a shockwave expanded outward, blowing away the Infernals that tried to attack him.
“Finally…” Thirteen muttered as he clenched his fist. “It’s time to fight seriously.”
Since the laws of Solterra had been broken, and The One knew he needed Thirteen’s help, he did the one thing that he was reluctant to do.
And that was to lift off all of Thirteen’s limiters.
The shackles that bound him since he woke up in Pangea were now gone.
What the enemies were facing was no longer just an ordinary mortal.
He might have been deprived of his senses, but he had still faced many world-ending battles in the past alongside his Hosts.
And now that he had regained his powers, the Pseudo-Gods and the Supreme Commanders of the Infernals finally took him seriously.
They could tell from the power oozing out of Thirteen’s body that he was closely approaching the power of a Demigod.
The young man then raised his clenched fists towards the heaven, and roared!
“By my name and authority, I hereby open the Thirteenth Vault of Heaven!” Thirteen declared. “Hear my call, Valkyries!”
The sound of angels signing reverberated across the battlefield. From behind Thirteen, a giant gate emerged which opened wide.
From it, thirteen beautiful women emerged. They were the legendary Valkyries of Asgard. They were the ones who brought the valiant warriors of the battlefield to Valhalla and fought alongside them during Ragnarok.
Now that a similar battle was taking place, they calmly stood behind their Master, looking at the Infernal Army in disdain.
One by one, they unleashed their powers. It was then that everyone realized that Thirteen invited Demigods to fight on their side, making the Wanderers cheer for their Supreme Commander who had joined them in battle.
