Taking the Mafia to the Magic World - Chapter 1115: Rescuing the Companions II

Chapter 1115: Rescuing the Companions II
In the blink of an eye, the Alpine Eye Family city was surrounded by undead, creatures of at least 15 races, former local specialists who took over the local streets and alleys at Vicente’s command.
Vicente walked with his main undead to the city core, watching the horror of the people in the streets. Manyu tried to hide, but others were frozen in horror where they stood.
People fell to their knees as they paled severely, at a loss for words as they felt a suppression greater than anything they had ever encountered before.
High-level Sorcerers didn’t normally show themselves so oppressively in public!
They had unique and distinguishable auras of respect, but making the air so suffocating that everything around them lost its meaning and only one entity became the center of attention was not normal. This was only intensified by Vicente’s powers, which were not only unique by their very nature, but were more intense than any existing power in the area.
As quickly as Vicente called for the leaders of the local sovereign family, mid- and high-ranking Sorcerers appeared on the outskirts of the city’s main building. Naturally, each member of the group was tense, with ugly expressions on their faces as they focused on the demonic figure of the young human.
“Who are you? What differences are you looking to resolve?” An old local native asked Vicente, his wrinkles masking the horror of his feelings, despite his grimace.
But unlike the ordinary inhabitants of this town, such a man wouldn’t mistake the newcomer for a mere mid-level Sorcerer. The senses of this and other experts were not fooled by the 5-Star Sorcerer aura coming from Vicente. As they looked at the human with long black hair and dark-gold armor, they saw a quasi-Transcendent.
Vicente wasn’t really a Transcendent, but his powers could be compared to those of 10th stage beginners!
How had they got into trouble with an expert of such caliber? None of the important elders of the Alpine Eye Family knew the answer, but they all wanted to hear it from Vicente himself and not have to fight for something they didn’t know.
Vicente stopped his march a few dozen meters in front of the entrance to the most prominent palace in the city. He didn’t need more than a few seconds of careful observation to notice the many slaves on this property, identifying the local reality of much of the Inviting Isles.
As he stood in silence, with his hundreds of high-powered undead positioned on the outskirts, already blocking streets and surrounding the Alpine Eye Family’s seat of power, Vicente raised one of his arms in the air, forcing himself against the man who questioned him.
“You have acquired one of my companions as a slave. Hand her over immediately and accept your punishment!” Vicente said firmly, while an 8-Star Sorcerer struggled not to touch the cobblestones with his knees.
Despite Vicente’s aggression, no one moved. All the elders of the family wanted to move, but they stood still, sweating as they watched Vicente amid the tension of the moment.
“The senior really has splendid powers,” said the old man suffering under the influence of Vicente’s pressure, struggling to keep his composure while signaling his people to hold their positions. “But this old man has his tricks, too.” He stood up, shaking off the worst of Vice’s initial attack.
But instead of attacking the newcomer, this old man took a step back and said, “However, we will not fight. I don’t know who you’re talking about, but whoever it is, we’ll hand them over to you. Just retract your aura and give us a chance to talk.”
Vicente had already decided to punish this family after resolving Larissa’s situation. But for now, he retracted his aura, prioritizing information regarding his companion. ’She’s not in this city. I’ll have to play with these people for a while.’
With the locals feeling they could get out of this problem in a peaceful way, the tension in the city center eased several levels until a group of elders came closer to Vicente.
One of them said, “Senior, I’m sorry we got off to a bad start. In the Inviting Isles, we have the custom of trading slaves ingrained in our foundations. It’s not personal. It’s business.”
A woman continued, “We didn’t mean to offend you by acquiring someone who should never have been put up for sale. But we’ll certainly go all out to give this person back their freedom. Please, tell us what she looks like.”
Vicente described Larissa, showing with his mana what his companion looked like, from the level of cultivation she had when he last saw her to even her smell.
Vice had always been very attentive to detail, so he could describe her precisely.
It didn’t take long for someone to connect the description such an expert had given them with a slave acquired recently.
“I think I know how to get to this person,” said one of the weaker elders among the group speaking to Vicente, who couldn’t help but express concern in his face and tone.
“Where is she?” Vicente asked, making the man in question shiver as he felt threatened.
Something inside this old man trembled, making him certain that he would perish if he displeased this expert.
He couldn’t hand Larissa over to Vicente without his people having the chance to get rid of certain elements and change their position on the matter a little.
While silence filled the center of the city following Vicente’s question, the elders talked to each other through mental communication, understanding their companion’s hesitation and the problem they were in. They secretly planned a way to please the expert surrounding them with the undead, as well as to steer clear of worse consequences.
When they were ready to answer, uncertain of the future but determined to fool Vicente, one of them said the answer agreed upon by the group.
They made the mistake of mentally planning it between themselves in front of an expert in intercepting messages!
Using his electromagnetic powers, Vicente listened to the entire exchange of information and opinions involved in the quick scheme these locals had devised to get away from the consequences that would surely come when he discovered the truth.
But contrary to the locals’ expectations, Vicente remained calm when he found out how Larissa had been tortured and even lost parts of her body to give away the truth about her past.
Naturally, someone as young and powerful as Larissa had attracted attention when she was put up for sale at a local auction. Her buyers, ever since they acquired her, had been keeping her locked up in an external post, where they tortured enemies in search of answers.
Closing his eyes, Vicente agreed to go along with their plan, pretending to be ignorant.
’For trying to trick me, you’ll pay twice as much as I originally planned!’
He secretly clenched his fists, finding it a little difficult to control his anger, even with the help of the Infernal Crown.
Despite everything, he overcame his feelings, acting with the coolness expected of a Devil while letting the elders of the Alpine Eye Family dig their own graves!
’Hopefully, I’ll restore all your strength, Larissa. After that, we have a lot to talk about. I have a feeling that Infernal monster is the same old friend you were looking for.’
