Taking the Mafia to the Magic World - Chapter 1128: The Real Importance of Theloria

Chapter 1128: The Real Importance of Theloria
Over the next two days, Vicente kept a low profile so as not to attract unnecessary attention. Instead of dealing with opponents as he had done on his arrival in the Red Enclave, he took detours on his way, avoiding new entanglements.
He could fight if he had to. He was confident and wouldn’t hesitate to kill on his way. But acting discreetly paid off and by the end of his group’s second day on the island, they had entered the central region of Red Enclave, the ancestral home of the demons, but also the area most dominated by vampires!
In this part of the island, day and night hardly existed. If it hadn’t been for the watch that Vicente was used to wearing on one of his wrists, he would have had no idea that it was still late in this region.
Surrounded by fog on all sides from a kilometer from their position, they couldn’t see much beyond the black forest they were passing. Luckily, their maps and senses were working, otherwise it wouldn’t have been difficult to get lost, even if one of them was already as powerful as any of them.
In this situation, Rex couldn’t help but comment, “This place really is everything the stories say. Even being here now, I can hardly believe I can be so vulnerable to this environment!”
“The Red Enclave goes beyond the rumors. The island is home to all kinds of dark creatures, sought by both the entities of Hell and the beings of Argardus—because of the massive presence of beings opposed to the Deities,” Kong said as he jumped between the black branches of the trees in his path, a little behind Vicente, side by side with Rex and Larissa.
“Really terrible,” Larissa muttered, with an interested look on her face. “I wonder how much Hell will surprise us when we get in there?”
Vicente looked back towards his companion and said, “A lot, believe me. The Hell probably won’t catch your eye in terms of creatures. But the scale of opportunities there is totally superior… although the Red Enclave is really impressive.”
Kong commented, “The Red Enclave is said to be one of the five most powerful islands in Anicane. Number one of all, it is perhaps the place most like Argardus or Hell in our entire world.”
“I look forward to visiting such a place one day,” Vicente said as he finally saw something beyond the black forest they had been passing through for the last 30 minutes.
The rest of the group saw what looked like an official road and some vehicles coming and going not far ahead. They let the previous topic die down, becoming more serious and attentive.
Kong said, “This is the Blood Avenue. It leads to the heart of the Red City.”
“The biggest vampire city?” Larissa asked, as she looked at her map.
“Exactly,” Kong said as the group continued to move forward.
Rex looked at his master and inquired, “Shall we make our attempt at the vampires now?”
Vicente looked with interest at the movement ahead, seeing a bit of his old continent on that path. He had business to settle with vampires that could bring him closer to his big plans for Anicane. But he didn’t rush at the opportunity.
“We’ll ignore the city ahead as soon as we find its boundaries. First, we must meet up with Theloria. We shouldn’t be far,” he said before looking at Kong inquisitively.
“The first tribe of demons after the Red City should be within a few minutes of our position. If Theloria hasn’t moved since I heard from her last time, we should reach her home in no more than two hours.”
Vicente was satisfied with the dragon’s answer. “That’s good enough. Let’s get going. I’m looking forward to meeting your succubus friend.”
Kong was also very interested in this reunion. “Back then, she was already stronger than me. She saw and took part in fights that I’ve only heard about… If she’s still around, there’s certainly a lot she can tell us and contribute.”
“I thought you and she had been closer,” Larissa said, as she understood the situation better.
“Theloria was a friend. I always had contact with her during our years fighting for the alliance. That was from our time in Polaris Realm until we parted ways here in Anicane. But she was always a few steps ahead of me.” He paused for a moment, thinking of Vice and Larissa. “Speaking as you humans do, you could say she was my senior.
In the end, there are things that she knows much more deeply than I do, even if they are related to events that I have some information about. And as I’ve already said, the issues she has to deal with are much more complicated and difficult to forget. If she’s here, she’ll listen and help us.”
“I hope so.” Vicente commented, seeing the outline of the vampire city, immediately putting into practice the plan to outline the area to continue avoiding problems. He said, “But, Kong, there’s a possibility that she’s reached the 10th stage… In that case, she might not even be here.”
Kong smiled as he shook his head negatively. “It’s not that simple. Perhaps because of how disproportionate your powers are, you think that a newly promoted Transcendent can go out and challenge the world. Theloria has always been impressive, but she’s more like me than you, Vicente. She wouldn’t be so careless just for that.”
“Couldn’t she have grown up more and already be a relevant Transcendent?” Rex asked the dragon.
“Unlikely. But if that happened, then we won’t find her anywhere. She’d probably be dead by now.” Kong spoke frankly, absolutely confident that, without the Celestial King, any level of strength Theloria might have achieved would be insufficient.
He continued after a moment’s silence, “But don’t think about it. Theloria has always been intelligent. Succubi, after all, are famous for their tactics and not for direct attacks. Even if she got past the final bottleneck, she would hardly be rash. Our chances of finding her are not small.”
“I hope so. Having a Transcendent at our side would help.” Larissa said excitedly.
“Would it?” Kong muttered to himself, laughing. “That’s the least of it, young woman. Everyone who knows about the Nine Paths truths is at or near that level. The most valuable thing about Theloria is not her power, but her knowledge. We mustn’t let ourselves be fooled by cultivation. Information is what can save us!”
