Taking the Mafia to the Magic World - Chapter 1151: Facing the Enemy

Chapter 1151: Facing the Enemy
The core of Barraz’s territory was like any other in Hell.
For reasons that Vicente still didn’t understand, every territory in Hell had a palace in its core area, which could vary, sometimes being at an equidistant point from the borders, sometimes even on one of the edges.
What was constant was that there would always be an ancient structure, immemorial ruins, seemingly artificial, but so historic that they seemed made by nature itself, where the center of power of a territory and a Reincarnation Wheel would be.
The focal point of this territory of Barraz was near its western border, in a small depression between empty plains, devoid of reliefs, plants, or anything to distract tired minds.
Hell was like that.
Empty.
Wide.
Lifeless.
But in Barraz’s palace, powerful 10th stage auras filled the four corners of the ancient structure. Five black guardians stood in front of the entrance steps to the palace, while the undead, divided into battalions, seemed ready for something.
Vicente and Kong were not surprised. Naturally, Barraz was prepared for a surprise move by Mylecent against them. Or perhaps he was the one preparing a move at any moment?
Neither of the two companions could say for sure. But it made no difference. A Devil was a Devil and they wouldn’t be so careless as to think that their enemies wouldn’t act.
Their attention was drawn away from this when they saw a tall, strong, heavily muscled man with red skin and charcoal-colored hooves leaving the entrance to the ancestral ruin in this area. On his head was a crown of light brown horns, while in the center of his forehead, two extra eyes caught the eye.
Barraz was as ugly as the worst of the monsters in Vicente’s nightmares.
Nowadays, of course, Vicente wouldn’t fear anything because of their appearance. But seeing Barraz appear to greet them was strange, to say the least.
Yet, the most striking thing about Barraz was definitely his high-level 10th stage cultivation!
As a 7-Star Transcendent, the Devil commanded respect, capable of having his own field of magical influence around him.
Vicente could feel as if a grandiose sphere of mana and elements surrounded Barraz’s body, making it as if a unique atmosphere of its own existed between the Devil and the world around it. This atmosphere was extremely rich in the same elements as the four-eyed man’s aura, but it was mainly focused on the element of darkness.
’Is that Barraz?’ Kong asked himself, feeling his dragon scales tremble in response to that Devil’s superior existence.
Vicente thought of something else. ’It seems that Mylecent’s suspicions are correct. The darkness around this Devil is the most intense I’ve ever felt in my life! Even Qhava, Senior Minos and his women didn’t have that much of the element themselves!’
Vicente, of course, didn’t compare Barraz to himself. Firstly, because it was difficult to analyze himself. Secondly, he wasn’t even a Transcendent. And thirdly, his darkness was based on his natural essence and not on something he had conquered over the years. He had certainly strengthened the Throne of Light and Darkness on his journey, but from the beginning, his purity and affinity to darkness were predetermined.
Even after absorbing an Infernal Crown, his powers had ’only’ improved from one level to the next, having evolved the qualities he already had, without transforming into something entirely new. This was clearly not the case with Barraz, who had reached a very high position, but had not had darkness as his fundamental magical base for his entire journey.
’But he really hasn’t conquered the Law of Darkness yet!’ Vicente narrowed his eyes cautiously. ’I can’t fail. As soon as we act, I have to find the source of this power and put myself in the position of challenging for control of the law!’
According to Mylecent, laws had no specific form in Hell.
Normally, they were Reincarnation Wheels that had formed erroneously, like a mutation. Things in Argardus were supposed to be different, but in Hell the laws were integrated into some Reincarnation Wheels. In some domains, these ’mutations’ were stronger and one could achieve mastery over certain absolute laws, thus achieving much more power than with other Reincarnation Wheels. This was the case with the Law of Life, the Law of Death, but also the Law of Darkness, the three main pillars of the dimension.
Mylecent’s plan was for Vicente to obtain the Law of Darkness. But how would he do that?
Mylecent had given them the information she had about such a thing before they split up. The process was relatively simple.
Reincarnation Wheels could usually be taken by those with power and potential. By connecting to one of them, it would be enough for one to overcome the wheel’s ’will’ and then the process of domination would continue until the end, when one would have total control over that power.
Things were a little more complex for those wheels with absolute laws connected to them. In these, the challenger would have to pass a compatibility test.
In short, other Reincarnation Wheels could be conquered by anyone with strong cultivation and growth potential. But not those with absolute laws.
It was therefore no surprise to Vicente to see that, despite having access to the supreme law of darkness, Barraz had not yet conquered it.
The Devil didn’t know what Vicente had in mind. But he looked at this prodigy climbing the stairs of his palace with a peculiar look on his red and black face.
’This magical density and affinity with darkness…’ He remembered the rumors about the chosen one of Hell and couldn’t help but validate some of his more pessimistic thoughts.
’This person is someone I must subdue or kill! Today he won’t leave my domain without being committed to me!
“Vicente Fuller,” Barraz opened his mouth, forming a smile as he gestured with his large hands. He was over three meters tall, so his arms were as big as Vice’s own body. “Welcome to my territory. I’ve heard from my men that you’re looking for growth opportunities, right?”
Vicente greeted Devil, while Kong made a gesture of greeting, saying nothing.
“Yes, Senior Barraz. I didn’t know I was entering your domain, otherwise I wouldn’t have been so bold.”
“Haha, that’s nothing.” Said the being as he stood only 4 meters away from the two ’guests.’ “But since you’re here, why don’t we help each other? As it happens, I’m also on the hunt for something and perhaps together we can achieve both our goals.”
“Oh? It’s not for nothing that the Senior seems to be preparing for something.” Vicente smiled as he looked at the battalions of the undead. “I just don’t know if I could keep up with you. Despite the rumors, I still have a long way to go before I’m able to help someone of your stature, Senior.”
One of Barraz’s underlings said good-humoredly, “Young Prodigy Fuller is a humble fellow. But I believe he can make a difference, my lord.”
Barraz shook his head, moving a little closer to Vicente. ’That’s something I need to check. Before I act against this brat, I need to understand the extent of his powers.
Vicente saw Barraz’s hand coming towards him and couldn’t help but stare into the black eyes of the creature in front of him.
’If I follow what he plans, I may not have a chance to act later. The difference between us is simply immeasurable. I can only…’
He felt sweat forming on his body as his mana connected to something in one of his spatial storage items.
