- Chapter 405 405: A World Built by Will

The hover limo approached a small, glowing holographic gate floating just above the road. As the vehicle slowed to a stop, a soft blue light scanned its exterior from front to back. A moment later, the gate flickered, then projected a large green symbol in the air.
With a low hum, the limo resumed motion, gliding forward.
Beyond the gate, the road extended into what seemed like an endless bridge, suspended above rippling waters. It was reinforced with energy barriers lining its edges, pulsating faintly with a neon blue glow.
Ahead it was connected to a massive turtle shaped island city.
Alister’s gaze drifted over the scenery, his brow furrowing in curiosity. He hadn’t known such a place existed in this sector. His arms remained folded as he finally spoke.
“I’ve never heard of this place before,” he admitted, eyes still scanning the horizon. “How does something like this even exist in Sector III?”
Galisk, seated across from him, smirked slightly.
“Back in the day, I built this place because I wanted a private island—somewhere apart from the main city, a place to give it this… vacation feeling. I ended up making the land really large because I wanted a place where your mother could spread her wings once in a while,” he explained with a hint of nostalgia.
“Though, I’ll admit, getting all this water in here was a real pain.”
Miyu perked up, her eyes widening in awe.
“You built this?”
Galisk blinked at her, then let out a small chuckle, as if genuinely surprised. “Wait… you didn’t know?”
Miyu folded her arms. “How was I supposed to know? I never even knew you existed until today. All I know is the stuff Alister taught me… and that’s mostly about combat.”
Galisk sighed, shaking his head. “Well, it seems you don’t know just how amazing your father is.” He leaned forward slightly, eyes gleaming with amusement.
“Listen well, little star,” he murmured.
“Your father is the one who built all the megacities.”
“From I to X.”
Silence filled the limo for a brief moment.
Alister’s expression changed. His arms uncrossed slightly, his composure faltered.
“Seriously?”
Galisk leaned back, smirking. “Why else do you think I’m the Union President?” He pointed casually to himself.
“I wasn’t elected or anything.” His gaze turned sharp, piercing. “After the world crumbled, I ensured humanity’s survival. That’s why I’m the world’s number one.”
The voice of Alameck echoed within Alister’s mind, laced with amusement and a hint of greed.
‘What a wonderful place to build my castle, don’t you think?’
Alister remained silent, gazing at the vast island city ahead.
Alameck’s tone turned sharper. ‘If he really claims to be your father, then why not ask him to give it to us?’
Alister ignored him.
Alameck gritted his teeth in frustration but said no more.
Instead, Alister focused on something else—curious, he turned to Galisk.
“How exactly did you manage to build the megacities? All of them?”
Galisk smirked, lifting a hand. “Like this.”
A pulse of golden mana radiated from his fingertips, condensing into a brilliant crown of pure mana. It shimmered for a moment before solidifying into a deep golden hue.
He reached over and placed the crown gently on Miyu’s head.
Miyu blinked in surprise, her hands immediately reaching up to touch it. Her fingers traced over the smooth, cool surface, her eyes widening. It felt real. Heavy. Solid.
Galisk chuckled. “That’s a construct made of mana,” he said.
“My talent allows me to solidify my mana into all kinds of physical objects. Buildings, weapons, entire armies… all made from my will and energy.”
“So with a plan and creating an unbelievable amount of manpower, I built shelter after shelter, city after city, until Mega City X was complete. And so I continued to explore, daring myself to build even larger structures.”
Galisk simply leaned back, a satisfied smirk on his lips. ‘And that, my dear children, is how I built the world you now live in.’
Miyu was stunned. “Wow… that sounds amazing. It must have been a lot of work.”
Galisk chuckled. “A hellish amount, Little Star, but your father is strong, so it wasn’t a problem.”
Alister’s eyes narrowed slightly, taking in the implications of such an ability. It looked similar to what he used in the mind space to bind Alameck.
Alameck chuckled as he said, ‘You sensed it, didn’t you, brother?’
For the first time, Alister responded, ‘Yes… yes, I did… that was a piece of my authority.’
⫷『Your trait: Fateless is reacting slightly.』⫸
Alister saw the notification at the corner of his vision and sighed, his thoughts receding further.
‘This must be part of why I was told not to let him die, because there are beings after that power. But he is currently by far stronger than me. If something can be a danger to him, then it would be a challenge to me.’
Alister could hear Alameck chuckle, making him glance at him as he hovered with his hands behind his head.
‘What is so funny, Alameck?’
Alameck glanced at him with a sharp look in his lifeless gray eyes.
‘Brother, has living with humans made you blind to your own power, or is it due to the fact your memories are still incomplete? Since when does the Overlord question his own strength?’
‘What do you mean?’ Alister narrowed his gaze.
For a moment, Alameck looked shocked, disappointed even. He gritted his teeth, then suddenly leaned in, locking his eyes with Alister’s.
Alameck’s voice echoed in Alister’s mind with intensity.
‘Sonoris.’
‘You are supposed to be the Overlord—not just because of your overwhelming strength, but because of your absolute confidence. Regardless of what the future holds, you are always certain you will be at the top. It’s that will to dominate, that unshakable certainty that you will dominate.’
‘The heavens do not look down, but upon you with fear, the celestials do not dare utter your name, for they know death shall be the least of their worries.’
