“Fine, no more drinks.” Sara leans in and whispers, well whisper shouts to be heard in the busy bar, “I have a date with Drew Young next Saturday.”

My mouth drops open. “Seriously? After he fucked two women behind each other’s backs?”

“Only one was behind the other’s back.” Sara shrugs. “I’m moving on and he’s funny. I’m done waiting for Wyatt to come to his senses. To realize we’re perfect for each other. I’m done waiting. Period. After everything you two went through, waiting for something that will never happen is ridiculous. Wyatt’s not going to notice me, so instead of pretending to be with someone else, it’s time to actually be with someone else.”

She wiggles her eyebrows and Kayla laughs.

“Gonna get some vitamin D. Nice.” Kayla lifts her soda glass and clinks it on Sara’s water. “See if he has a hot sister to set me up with.”

“Is Bea still not coming with you?” Hope’s wide blue eyes meet Kayla’s.

Kayla’s smile falters. She swirls her straw in her drink and shakes her head. “I’m trying to convince her, but she says she can’t.”

Hope rubs Kayla’s back. We’re all excited about Kayla moving here. The choice is her career or her girlfriend, which sucks.

“What about you, Hope? Are you dating anyone?” I ask, hoping to keep Kayla from sinking into too many drinks.

Hope’s cheeks flush red, but she shakes her head. “After the last few blind dates, I’m taking some time off. It’s just so pointless.” She sighs. “If I need to get off, my BOB is better than anyone else I’ve been with.”

Kayla pats Hope on the back. “Since I’ll be a free agent when I get here, I’m willing to help with that anytime you need it. I got any size dick you could want.”

Sara, Hope, and I bust out a laugh. Kayla is still trying to convert us. Sara is the first to stop laughing.

“Okay, it’s been months since you came out as dating four guys, so what’s with the ring still?” Sara raises an eyebrow as she holds my hand up to the light. The diamonds sparkle and warmth floods me.

I shrug. “Coop likes that I wear it. His parents feel that if he’s going to be with me and the guys, then he should at least consider marrying me so our children will have their name.”

“Seriously?” Hope’s mouth drops open.

I smile and run my finger over the ring. “It’s not like I can legally marry them all, but Seth has been working on figuring out a way to bind us legally together and Noah’s been looking into ceremonies.”

“For real?” Sara beams. “This calls for a toast.”

I laugh and wave off the toast. “Not for a while yet. They’re just preparing for the future.”

Sara is already talking to the server though.

“Good, because I want it to be official that you’re my sister-in-law.” Kayla squeezes my hand. “And all those cute little babies you have with Coop are my nieces and nephews.”

“Mine too.” Hope grins. “I’m going to be the best aunt.”

Sara passes out the four shots. “To being aunties.”

Fuck it. I take my shot, knowing Blake’s picking me up and the ride home is going to be awesome. The punishment is always worth it.

A year after that

“Dammit.” I suck my throbbing finger after crushing it in the drawer.

Coop steps up behind me in the mirror and draws my finger out of my mouth to examine it. “Calm down, sweetheart.”

His hands guide my hips back against his. I’m wearing my bra and a half-slip, while he’s in his boxers. His erection presses against my ass.

“This is my first day at a new job.” I glare at my reddened finger. “It has to go perfectly.”

“You always have a job with us.” He lowers his chin to my shoulder and meets my gaze in the mirror. “I’m not sure how we’ll do with Trevor.”
