Tease Me - Page 183
“No need.” Her voice floats down to us. Six babies and years of being with her and I’m still caught off guard by this beautiful woman who I call mine as she comes down the stairs. She’s lost most of the baby weight. She says she still has more to lose, but to me, she’s just as stunning nine months pregnant as the day she first walked into our lives.
Her red dress dips in at the waist, showing off her hourglass figure. This woman is everything I need, everything I want. She stops on the landing and looks down over her dress.
“I should change.” She turns but I catch her hand. Her blue eyes are wide and uncertain.
“You look perfect, princess.” It’s taken me years to convince her that it doesn’t matter what flaws she thinks she has, to me she’ll always be perfect.
She softens and nods. “I do love the dress. Thank you, boss.”
She closes the distance and kisses me on the cheek. “I love you, Seth.”
“I love you.” I capture her chin and hold her close, dropping a kiss on her lips. Her smile is soft and that’s all I need. This life is exactly what I need. Having her and my friends and sharing our children. Her blue eyes sparkle up at me.
“Do you want to say good night to the kids?” I ask.
We can all hear the kids chatting away at Nan and Kayla.
Madison smiles. “Give me five minutes.”
It never takes five minutes, but I humor her.
Madison
It took fifteen, but we made our reservation. Dinner was amazing as always. We love what Chef Matthews creates. We celebrated my promotion to CEO and Deidre’s retirement with champagne and chocolate cake.
When we get into the limo to head to the hotel, Noah takes my hand in the car and lays a blindfold across my palm.
I arch an eyebrow. “Now?”
“It’s a surprise, kitten.” He smiles.
Turning my back to him, I hold the blindfold up to my eyes so he can tie it behind my head. This whole night has been planned meticulously by the guys. Blake and Noah made sure the kids would be taken care of. Seth picked out my fabulous dress. And Coop was in charge of picking our hotel for our first night out in a while.
Our first complete night off since the twins were born. Fortunately with five parents, we’ve been able to find time to spend with each other, but not all together. There’s always a baby that needs changed, or a diaper, or a nightmare. I’ve missed being able to be with my guys all together. I miss our Sunday afternoons and stolen moments in the middle of the night.
Tonight is about us. Not being Mommy, Daddy, Dada, Papa, and Pop Pop.
But being just us.
The limo comes to a stop and I move to take off the blindfold, but Coop grabs my hand to stop me.
“Not yet, sweetheart.”
I smile a little uncertainly, but I trust them to get me wherever we’re going. Even if it looks odd. They help me stand and guide me across the sidewalk. A snick of a lock fills the silence before we’re inside. My heels click against the floor and there’s no sound beyond their softer footsteps. Wherever we are, there aren’t other people.
“Where are we?” I ask softly. “I thought we were going to a hotel.”
“Patience, tiger.” Blake chuckles.
They guide me into an elevator and something smells familiar. We haven’t been to a lot of hotels, especially recently. The goal tonight is to reconnect and not make another baby. I love my children, but six is definitely enough.
Though the guys seem to want more. As much as I love being pregnant, I’d just like to get my figure back for a while.
Coop draws me back against him and murmurs in my hair, “I love you, sweetheart.”
“I love you.” I lean my head back against his chest and place my hands over his around my waist.
The elevator stops and they lead me forward. Another click of a door unlocking, and then we’re inside a darkened space. Someone turns on some lights and Noah takes my blindfold off.
