The Academy’s Weapon Replicator - Chapter 394 Part 2 - The Academy’s Weapon Replicator

Frondier was still deep in thought.
He was like that even during his first class.
He was currently copying the lesson material onto the blackboard and conducting a class no different from any other teacher’s.
The students, who had high expectations after hearing about his appearance and the story of how he designed the three-dimensional map, soon looked at the blackboard with disappointed eyes.
Well, that’s what theory classes were like. Just because the teacher changed didn’t mean the class would change.
‘Is it really right to keep doing this?’
Frondier thought as he conducted the class.
He knew that this continent was lacking in magic theory. In terms of knowledge, he had already thought about how to teach it.
However, there were two things that made it difficult to proceed easily.
One was that, as he had initially thought, it would not be good for him to stand out. He had come to Atlas to investigate other Gods and Heracles, not to put all his effort into teaching.
And the other was that Frondier himself had not learned any magic.
‘The current lesson material can be done verbally, and if so, there is no need to show magic. I’m not the only teacher who teaches theory without using magic.’
Of course, he could learn a basic spell or two if he put his mind to it. With most of the theories in his workshop, Frondier could imitate most magic if he wanted to. He just hadn’t done it yet.
However, in order to move in the improved direction that Frondier had in mind, it would be less persuasive if he himself could not use magic.
‘Let’s take it easy for now. I can always change the way I conduct classes later…’
“Teacher.”
At that moment, someone raised their hand.
Before Frondier could even answer, the student stood up from his seat.
Looking at him, Frondier said,
“Yes, Basileo. What is it?”
Basileo was a little surprised that Frondier had immediately remembered his name without even trying, but he hid his surprise and said,
“I have a question.”
“Yes, what is it?”
At Frondier’s words, Basileo raised both hands. He soon began to chant a spell.
“I gather the wind in my hands…”
A sudden magic chant. The surrounding students were surprised by Basileo’s actions, but Frondier watched in silence.
Soon, Basileo completed the spell and cast it.
“Gather Wind!”
Then an arrow of wind was created, connecting his two hands in a single line.
Frondier thought,
‘The chant, the formula, and even the activation words. A textbook manifestation.’
A teacher would have praised the magic Basileo had completed.
And Frondier was a teacher now.
“Excellent. A Gather Wind with wonderful completion.”
Of course, he praised him. For now.
“But is your question about that?”
“Yes.”
Basileo nodded.
Frondier’s eyes drifted down slightly.
‘It’s magic that has nothing to do with the magic theory I’m teaching right now. Magic that is separate from the lesson content. And…’
As he was thinking, Basileo spoke.
“Is there a way to simplify this magic?”
‘…A question that seems to be testing me.’
Frondier thought for a moment.
He was being doubted. He didn’t know why, but it was certain.
Then what was he being doubted about? His ability as a teacher? Or his true purpose? Or had he received some kind of hint because he had divine power? Was God interfering with him again?
Unable to be sure of either, Frondier decided to try to clear their doubts for now. If he couldn’t give a proper answer here, the other students would start to doubt him too.
“Simplification, you say.”
Frondier briefly looked at the Gather Wind that Basileo had completed, and then used his ability, ‘Weaving’, which allowed him to replicate something while the other party was casting it.
“Like this?”
“…..!”
The exact same thing that Basileo had created appeared in Frondier’s hand.
Not only Basileo, but all the students were amazed and watched the scene.
“The, the formula….!”
“Not just the formula, but no chant or activation words either!”
“At almost the same speed as drawing out Mana!”
The classroom instantly became noisy.
Basileo, in particular, was shocked by the sight before him and trembled.
“Ho, how, at that speed…”
Basileo had seen Elodie cast Gather Wind right in front of him.
She had also completed it much faster than Basileo, but what Frondier had just shown was not at that level.
It was as if he had completed it with the push of a button, a level that far surpassed his formula speed.
“No, no way, I couldn’t see the formula…”
And in his panic, his Gather Wind visibly shook. Basileo had forgotten that he was still activating the magic.
‘Oops.’
Frondier saw this and released the Obsidian.
“Ah, oh no!”
Basileo realized the danger and tried to control the magic, but it was too late.
Whoosh!
His arrow shot towards the inside of the classroom. Although it was slower than Elodie’s, it was a textbook wind magic. Naturally, its power was more than enough. It was not magic that should be fired inside a classroom.
“Eek!”
The wind arrow shot towards the group of students. They were not prepared.
However,
Swoosh!
A black wave filled the space in front of them. The wave enveloped the fired Gather Wind and settled into a sphere.
Thud!
There was a sound like an arrow exploding from within, but the black sphere completely suppressed the magic without a single leak.
Wheeew–
Then it scattered again and returned to where it had come from, to Frondier.
The students watched the scene in a daze.
The arrow Basileo had shot was covered by something, lost its power, and disappeared. It had been a black liquid, then a solid, and then back to a liquid before returning to Frondier. Naturally, it was something they had never seen before.
Was that magic too? Could such freely manipulated magic exist?
As everyone was stunned, Frondier spoke.
“Basileo.”
“…”
“Basileo.”
“Y-yes!”
Basileo came to his senses and answered only after being called twice. Especially the second time, the voice was terrifying.
However, Frondier just returned to his usual voice and tone.
“Tell me, what did you do wrong?”
Frondier had just asked one of the three most difficult questions to answer in the world.
