Chapter 450 (2) – The Academys Weapon Replicator
Basileo went to the faculty office, filled with all sorts of worries.
As expected, the most likely reason was the last question on the final exam.
‘Is he angry?’
Did he write an answer so preposterous that it offended Frondier?
As the instructor for theory classes, perhaps he couldn’t stand it when someone said something so far removed from the established theories.
─How strange. I was under the impression that what sits atop your neck is a head. Are you defying the very laws of biology that should apply to you as a human being?
Basileo could already imagine Frondier’s cold gaze piercing him.
“E-excuse me…”
Basileo entered the faculty office and approached Frondier with timid steps.
“Ah, come in.”Frondier greeted him warmly.
Basileo felt relieved for the moment, but he couldn’t be sure. He had already witnessed Frondier’s demeanor change in an instant. Perhaps this warmth was just a precursor to something else.
“Good. Then let’s go.”
Frondier stood up.
“Ms. Elodie, he’s here. The student I mentioned.”
Frondier suddenly addressed Elodie, and Basileo’s eyes widened in surprise as he looked around.
“Uh, y-yes?”
“I never thought you’d actually bring him.”
Elodie, with her characteristically stoic demeanor, approached the two.
Basileo felt twice as nervous as he had when he was alone with Frondier.
‘I-I heard the two of you don’t get along…’
Basileo had heard rumors about their relationship.
Although nothing had erupted directly yet, it was said that they exchanged barbs whenever they encountered each other in the faculty office.
A difference in values as mages, perhaps. It was said that their views clashed head-on.
‘Why Ms. Elodie all of a sudden…’
Basileo swallowed nervously and looked at Elodie.
Elodie’s beauty and skill naturally attracted many admirers among the students. Of course, Basileo was one of them.
He was caught in a complex mix of emotions, with both the teacher he admired and the teacher he respected standing before him, and the two of them apparently at odds with each other.
“Let’s go then. The sooner we get this over with, the better.”
“Indeed.”
With that, the two packed something into their respective bags and stood up.
“W-where are we going?”
Frondier answered Basileo’s inevitable question.
“Well, to the Combined Use Of Magic And Combat classroom, for starters.”
…Combined Use Of Magic And Combat?
For starters?
“W-why there all of a sudden…”
“You’ll find out when we get there.”
Unlike the kind and approachable demeanor he displayed to the students in the classroom, Frondier was merciless towards Basileo here.
‘No, maybe it’s not the place that’s the problem, but me.’
Maybe he was kind to other students but not to him. The thought made Basileo feel inexplicably depressed.
“Let’s go. We don’t have much time.”
“Y-yes, sir.”
Basileo had no choice but to follow behind Frondier.
No matter how complicated and gloomy his feelings were, he had no other option.
