The Broken Halo - Chapter 286: Currencies & Exchange Rate

Chapter 286: 286: Currencies & Exchange Rate
[A/N: If some of you are confused because of the last Chapter, I changed Bone Kingdom to Nether Kingdom. I explained it more in the Author’s Thoughts box.]
—-
When it came to the six main kingdoms, that was where Simon was truly lost because in his time, there was only the Kingdom of Death.
Back in his tribe, he knew about the six main kingdoms from his mother since they were very popular, but it was better to confirm this information from a more reputable source.
’The Infernal Kingdom is unsurprisingly a kingdom ruled by Infernals. Those berserkers are rulers of a kingdom now?’
Simon raised a brow at this, then he moved to the other kingdoms.
’The Abyssal Tide Kingdom is a kingdom that rules over the seas of the demon realm. Unlike the Infernals who rule the Infernal Kingdom, the Abyssal Tide Kingdom can be ruled by any demon specie.’
’Then the Titanfall Kingdom. It’s a kingdom that rules over mountains and metals, and the demons that rule the kingdom are the Horned Giants.’
’I guess that’s where the crazy Instructor Emith comes from. But Horned Giants do not have Royal Bloodlines, or did something change?’
Simon tilted his head slightly with slightly furrowed brows.
A few seconds later, he moved on to the next kingdom.
’The Nether Kingdom. Hmm… That kingdom should be related to the Kingdom of Death.’
’Let me see.’
’Hmm? The Nether Kingdom is ruled by Nether Demons? What? What are Nether Demons?’
’Are there liches? Death Knights? Arch liches?’
’Strange.’
He flipped through the pages of the book as he looked for more information on the Nether Kingdom.
’The Wildlands is in the territory of the Nether Kingdom, and some minor tribes who live in the Wildlands like the Duskfang Tribe are under the Nether Kingdom.’
’I guess that’s why we used Bone Coins back then. But wait…’
Simon suddenly frowned as he realized something.
’Back in the tribe, our currency was Bone Coins, but I also know that the Nether Kingdom used Infernal Shards and Infernal Crystals, after all, my mother betrayed for a mere twenty low grade Infernal Crystals.’
’And now that I think about it, it wasn’t even Hell Stones she betrayed me for. Does she even know about hell stones?’
Simon shook his head as he decided to shift his thoughts from his mother to what he found strange.
He grabbed the book on the demon realm’s economy.
’If the Nether Kingdom uses Infernal Shards and Infernal Crystals as their currency, then what does the Infernal Kingdom use?’
’And what of the Ashborn Tribe?’
’Ashborn demons are a tribe that mainly uses fire, and they should be in the Infernal Kingdom, not the Nether Kingdom. So, why are they in Nether Kingdom?’
Simon opened the book on the general economy of the demon realm, and some minutes later, he stopped reading.
A slight furrow of his brows could be seen on his face as he was pondering on some things he just read.
He then went back to the book on the geopolitics of the demon realm.
’The Storm Kingdom is a kingdom that has demon species like the Stormspawns, demon beasts that can control lightning, thunder, and the wind element, and a few other species.’
’This is surprising. A child of the Storm Kingdom is in the academy of the Shadowgrave Clan. I’ll need to read or find out why the Shadowgrave Clan accepts anybody into their academy and clan.’
’But for now, let me read about the Darkness Kingdom.’
He flipped the page of the book, and his eyes moved across the book as he read it at a fast speed.
He opened the page once again, and he continued doing this for about ten minutes before he stopped.
He closed his eyes.
’I see… So, the Darkness Kingdom is actually the strongest kingdom of the demon realm. And the demons in charge of the Darkness Kingdom are Two Horned Winged Demons.’
’That is not so surprising when I think about it. They have a Royal Bloodline after all.’
Simon exhaled deeply, then he recalled a few things he just read.
’I have not completely read the book, but the economy of some kingdoms are truly strange.’
’The Nether Kingdom is actually the weakest kingdom, and it’s a kingdom that’s ruled by one of the Demon Princes of the fallen Kingdom of Death.’
’Not only are they the weakest, they are the poorest amongst all the kingdoms. None of the six main clans are under them, and the territories they own have no valuable resources.’
’It also seems that the Infernal Kingdom might actually be the true rulers or controllers of the Nether Kingdom behind the scenes, because that can be the only reason why the Nether Kingdom is using the currency of the Infernal Kingdom.’
Simon paused for a moment, then he frowned.
’The Titanfall’s Kingdom’s currency is Bronze, Silver, and Gold.’
’The Darkness Kingdom’s currency is Abyssal Crystal.’
’The Storm Kingdom’s currency is Thunder Shard.’
’The Abyssal Tide Kingdom currency is Abyssal Pearl.’
’The Infernal Kingdom’s currency is Infernal Crystal.’
’And the Nether Kingdom’s currency is Bone Coin.’
Simon paused for a moment after recalling the currencies of the six kingdoms.
’Each kingdom has their own currency just like how the countries on earth before the apocalypse had their currencies. But at the end of the day, the most important currency is Hell Stones.’
’And there’s an exchange rate between a kingdom’s currency and a single hell stone.’
He looked down at the book of the demon realm’s general economy, and he furrowed his brows slightly.
’The exchange rate between one abyssal crystal and one hell stone is 1:1, but the exchange rate between one peak infernal crystal and one hell stone is 10:1.’
’These are the two most valuable currencies amongst the kingdoms- an abyssal crystal and an infernal crystal and the least most valuable currency are bone coins.’
’I don’t even want to think about that right now or the other currencies.’
’What I’m more curious about is the currency of the Shadowgraves.’
’Ten peak infernal crystals can be exchanged for a hell stone, but a single merit of the Shadowgrave Clan can be exchanged for a hell stone.’
’That’s… very strange.’
