The Broken Halo - Chapter 287: Share Them With You

Chapter 287: 287: Share Them With You
’I feel like the Shadowgrave Clan is at the top of the mysterious organizations among the main clans and kingdoms.’
’They are the only clan with a currency, and though it’s not physical but virtual like the currency of the kingdoms, it’s a very important factor nevertheless.’
Simon furrowed his brows slightly in thought.’
’The Shadowgrave Clan are a clan of assassins, but they can also accept a member of the Martial Clan which is a main clan, along with several other demon species.’
’Their currency is also on par with the Kingdom of Darkness’ currency… I guess they hold more power than one might think.’
’And I wonder if I’ll eventually know about the true power play that’s occuring behind the scenes for the Shadowgrave Clan and the kingdoms.’
There was one other thing that bothered Simon, and it was something he had nearly forgotten… The words of Zaglur regarding the Shadowgrave Clan.
’Zaglur said that the Shadowgrave Clan desires to become the seventh Kingdom or they plan on overthrowing and taking the place of one of the kingdoms.’
’The Devourer’s blood essence is meant to play a big part in doing this…at least I believe so.’
’If my theory is right, then what would happen if the Shadowgrave Clan becomes the Shadowgrave Kingdom?’
’And what of the Night Sovereign of the clan? Is he a Demon King? Or is he not actually a Demon King?’
’If my balance theory is right, then he should not be a Demon King. But if he’s actually a Demon King, then that means my balance theory is either incorrect or that Earth also has more hidden Demi-Gods.’
He let out a tired sigh while rubbing the space above his eye lids.
’There’s a lot I don’t know. I can’t just keep on having these thoughts. I’ll tire myself out eventually.’
He looked at his Grave Mark, and he saw that he had about fifteen minutes left before their next class.
He decided to leave the library and settle down in class till Instructor Valdin arrives.
’The next class is on Chaos Runes…hmm…I’m not talented when it comes to runes. I tried it in my past life, and it was one of the most difficult things I had to learn.’
’I wonder how it’d go this time around.’
He returned the books to their rightful place, then he went to the exit of the library.
His trip to the library was a good thing since he got to learn quite a lot of things.
The only bad part is…
“See you next time, Broken Halo.”
Ari’s sweet and charming voice drifted into his ears as he walked out of the library, causing a shiver to run across his spine.
He knew that she had just used a fraction of her ability to seduce him, but unfortunately for her, it could only caused his skin to have goosebumps and nothing more.
’Hopefully she doesn’t take things too far.’
He released a soft sigh, then he went to the classroom.

Meanwhile, in the Second Year classroom, Akaza stood and leaned on a desk with his arms crossed, and his cold eyes staring at the three initiates who also sat on different desks not too far away from him.
These three Initiates were the leaders of three other gangs of bullies amongst the Second Years.
The Initiate to the Akaza’s far left was the leader of the Viper’s Nest.
On his face was a sickly, translucent green mask that was shaped like the skull of a king cobra.
It had long fangs, and the eyes were narrow slits that glowed with a faint, toxic yellow light.
In the center was the leader of the Stone Crushers.
His mask was a heavy, oversized slab of dark granite, carved into the likeness of a roaring gargoyle.
It lacked eye holes, and it was replaced by deep, jagged cracks that emitted a pulsing red glow.
To the right, was the leader of the Black Thorns, a gang of female bullies.
Unlike the others, she was a female, and her mask was like the mask of a face made with thorns.
She had the strangest mask amongst the three, and her eyes were dark green as she looked at Akaza through the eye holes of her mask.
All three leaders stared at Akaza, and the leader of the Viper’s Nest could not help but mock Akaza.
“Yo, Akaza. I heard you’ve become the dog of a First Year slave. Why don’t you bark for me?”
The other two leaders stifled their laughters the moment they heard this.
Akaza clenched his right hand, but he did not give a response.
He already knew that he was going to be mocked, so he was prepared for it. However, it still stung, considering the pride he had in himself.
“Why are you here, Akaza?” The leader of the Black Thorns asked with a voice that instantly lowered the tension in the classroom.
Akaza inhaled deeply.
“I’m here to make a deal with you.”
The leaders raised their brow, and the leader of the Stone Crushers spoke.
“We’re listening.” His deep voice reverberated across the room, containing just a little bit of curiosity in it.
“I know something you guys don’t…”
He deliberately paused for a moment, causing the trio to be even more curious.
“Many of the First Years are rich. When the Iron Fangs extorted some of the First Years, we got to know that a lot of them have more merits than even some of our classmates.”
“That fool of a slave called Broken Halo is actually fearful and worried about the academy’s retaliation, which is why he only told the Iron Fangs to take half of the weekly stipend of his classmates.”
“Over ten of his classmates had five thousand merits, three thousand merits, and two thousand merits in their accounts.”
“More had over a thousand merits.”
“Because we only took half of the weekly stipend of his classmates, we did not even get up to two thousand merits in total.”
“In my own opinion, we made a huge loss, all because of that bastard’s cowardice.”
“The First Years are a walking gold mine, and I want to share them with you.”
