The Broken Halo - Chapter 306: Beast Tamer?

Chapter 306: 306: Beast Tamer?
The silence that ensued after Agramormos punched Ice Tyrant was loud.
The First Years stared with stunned expressions as the eight rank of their class was on the floor…unmoving.
After all the barking, the arrogance, the vicious words sent at the Second Years, a single punch was enough to send him unconscious.
The First Years could not believe it, but the smart and calm ones were not surprised.
Even though the Ice Tyrant was a Frost Demon with physical capabilities that could rival an average Minor Archfiend, Agramormos was a Supreme Archfiend, and there was no way Ice Tyrant could contend in terms of physical strength.
What did they expect?
For Ice Tyrant to suddenly find a way to defeat Agramormos?
When he was not Simon?
The hope in the hearts of the First Years was extinguished and the momentum Ice Tyrant brought was shattered.
Three seconds later, Belafar burst into laughter.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!”
“He couldn’t even last a single punch?! What a fucking weakling!”
He held his stomach and laughed to the skies with reckless abandon.
Agramormos shook his head slightly, but he did not laugh like Belafar because he knew why Ice Tyrant fell from just a single punch.
The book he bought from Akaza did not only contain the abilities of some of the First Year initiates, it also contained tips on what they should do and not do.
And one of the things the book said is that if anybody that chooses to fight the Ice Tyrant should knock him out as quickly as possible because of a unique ability of his bloodline.
’Ice Tyrant’s bloodline has the ability to freeze the flesh and blood of demons who touch it. Even Supreme Archfiends are not an exception, but it doesn’t work on Greater Demons.’
’If I allowed the battle to be a prolonged battle where I toy with him and show him who’s the stronger demon, my hands and several parts of my body would feel numb after some time.’
’It’s not an extremely dangerous ability, but it’s an ability one should be wary of at the same rank.’
’I guess the gauntlets weren’t necessary.’
Agramormos shook his head slightly, but just as he was about to turn, his right hand suddenly appeared beside his head, protecting it.
A second later…
Bang
“Fuck! My leg!”
A kick landed on his gauntlet, and a curse resounded across the causeway.
Agramormos looked at Tempest Strider who just screamed.
The demon attempted to kick his head, but Agramormos’ instincts were very sharp despite his size.
Tempest Strider was already on the ground, hopping on one leg and holding the other.
Kicking Agramormos’ gauntlet was not part of the plan.
“Pest.”
Agramormos was about to punch and send a compressed air at Tempest Strider, but Storm Reaper suddenly attacked like lightning.
Bang!
This time around, Agramormos could not defend and he was punched in the head by Storm Reaper.
Agramormos was forced to take several steps to the back. He growled and was about to run toward the trio, but Flaming Star suddenly appeared with a sword covered in flames.
Clang!
Agramormos raised his hands and used his gauntlets to block rhe burning sword with a cold glint in his eyes.
Flaming Star decided to back away when he saw that he could not overpower Agramormos, but frustration and dissatisfaction could be seen in his eyes.
The moment he stopped jumping backward, a hand held his shoulder and his heart jumped.
He swung his arm backward, or at least he tried to, but the hand suddenly moved and held his wrist tightly, preventing him from swinging the sword.
“Stop struggling. I’m not your enemy.”
An unfamiliar voice drifted into his ears from the back, and Flaming Star frowned.
He wished to fight back since he felt threatened and his instincts were telling him that the demon behind him was too strong and dangerous.
Fortunately for Flaming Star, the demon behind him let go.
Flaming Star held his wrist in pain, frowned, then he looked at the demon.
His brows shot up when he saw Jorra and Merath standing together.
“Dusk. Dawn.”
Neither of them replied, their gazes landing on Agramormos, Belafar, and Tibat.
“What’s going on?” Merath asked with a slight frown behind her mask as she shifted her gaze to Flaming Star.
Flaming Star’s eyes lit up with hope at the prospect of the Merath and Jorra joining them to battle the three gangs.
“We’re being bullied, and they want to extort us like Broken Halo. They want us to pay an exit fee before we can leave.”
“An exit fee?” Merath raised a brow.
Flaming Star nodded. “Yes. That’s what they called it.”
Jorra immediately scoffed.
“Bullshit.”
He walked forward, causing Merath and Flaming Star to look at him.
“I can smell that bastard’s scheme from a mile away. Since he doesn’t want to use the Iron Fangs, he’s using another bunch of wastes so that he can ’protect’ us and win the bet.”
Spit
“Fucking disgusting pieces of shits.”
Those who heard him frowned and their expressions became dark.
Some of the First Years began to wonder if this was actually the case, but if it was, they couldn’t help but wonder how Simon was able to have not one, not two, but three gang members working for him.
This meant that the slave of their class had nearly a hundred Second Year Initiates under his command.
Nearly a hundred Archfiends under his command.
What kind of power was this?
What kind of authority was this?
Was Simon actually a slave or was he just pretending and he actually had a more terrifying identity?
Many of the First Years who thought deeply about the current situation were confused, but none had the answers to their questions.
As for the Second Years, they were angry at the fact that their mere juniors were insinuating that they were working for a mere slave who they believed was weaker than them.
First it was Ice Tyrant.
Now, a fucking small demon who was wearing a plain grey mask was saying such things.
Why wouldn’t they be angry.
Belafar could no longer take it, and in the next moment, he dashed toward Jorra with killing intent in his eyes.
He intend to kill Jorra, and Jorra sensed this.
His eyes flashed with a cold light.
At a very fast speed, Belafar appeared in front of Jorra with a dagger in his hand.
His hand moved, slicing the dagger toward Belafar’s neck, but in the next moment, Belafar’s instincts screamed at him, and he quickly jumped to the side, completely stopping his attack.
Bang!
Belafar rolled multiple times on the ground, then he jumped to the back and looked at Jorra with wide eyes.
Behind Jorra was a scorpion the size of an adult elephant.
“You’re a beast tamer?”
