The Broken Halo - Chapter 345: I’m Right Here

Chapter 345: 345: I’m Right Here
Dust, stone, and debris flew everywhere the moment the large war hammer crashed into the ground.
Simon quickly looked up after dodging the hammer at the last minute, and just as he expected, there was a Bulwark Demon in front of him.
When one sees a Bulwark Demon, the first thing they think about is a living fortress.
An average Bulwark Demon is usually between 8-9ft tall. They had broad and heavily built bodies with thick limbs.
Their skin looked like a fusion of flesh and stone with slight cracks running across the surface along with small, natural protrusions across their shoulders, spine, and forearms.
They had crimson eyes, and their faces looked like carvings rather than naturally grown flesh.
Their hands were large and could crush the skull of two average sized humans. Their hands were clearly built for crushing.
The Bulwark Demon in front of Simon emitted the aura of a Minor Archfiend, but his physical presence was far more than a Minor Archfiend and was bothering to that of a Supreme Archfiend.
“You bastard assassins will pay.” The Bulwark Demon growled while emitting a dense aura of killing intent.
Simon stood, then he slowly observed the Bulwark Demon from up to down.
The Bulwark Demon was wearing beast clothing to hide his private part, but he only had a dark silver chest plate strapped around his left chest to protect his heart.
’So this one is one of the smart ones who don’t completely believe in their physical defenses.’
It was normal for a Bulwark Demon to not wear any upper clothes but some can also choose to wear parts of armors to protect their bodies.
“Are you all bark and no bite?” Simon smirked behind his mask and the Bulwark Demon frowned.
“Do you want to die?” He growled.
Simon nonchalantly shrugged, then he attacked.
His right foot glowed with a dark emerald-orange demonic light, and he slammed his foot on the ground.
Bang!
The ground cracked, and pieces of stones and rocks around him jumped into the air.
Simon’s eyes landed on one, then he spun and kicked it at the Bulwark Demon.
As the rock flew toward the bulwark, he raised a brow and tilted his head slightly.
He did not dodge and he just stood there, allowing the rock to hit him.
Bam!
The rock shattered to pieces, and there was no injury or mark on the Bulwark.
“Are you dumb, assassin?” The Bulwark asked with a tilt of his head and Simon shrugged.
“Well, you’re the one that looks like all muscles and no brains.”
The Bulwark Demon smiled, and his smile was extremely weird.
In the next moment, he flung his massive war hammer at Simon.
WHOOSH!
The speed of the war hammer was completely beyond Simon’s expectations and he quickly jumped to the side.
Bang!
The hammer crashed into a building, and Simon looked at it before he perceived the shadow of the Bulwark Demon and he quickly rolled to the side.
“Why are you running away?”
Bam!
Bam!
Bam!
Bam!
Simon kept on rolling and dodging the punches and stomps of the Bulwark Demon, and the Bulwark Demon was furious the longer Simon dodged his attacks.
“I said why are you running away! This is why I hate assassins. Fucking cowards all of you!”
Simon tried to roll but he found out that he could not.
He took a glance behind him, and he saw that there was a building behind him.
His eyes flashed with a calculating light, then he quickly jumped to the side.
Whoosh!
BANG!
A familiar war hammer slammed into where he was and crashed into the building, completely destroying the building.
Simon landed far away from the Bulwark Demon, his eyes as calm as a peaceful lake.
The Bulwark Demon removed his hand from the debris of the building, and with anger and frustration in his eyes, he looked at Simon.
“You’re pathetic. All assassins are pathetic.”
Simon exhaled softly, then he stepped down from the debris he was standing on.
“Hmm. I think I’ve seen enough.” He said softly.
The Bulwark Demon raised a brow. “What are you talking about?”
Simon slowly approached the Bulwark Demon, then he turned his head to the left and right hand side, causing cracking sounds to drift around in the air.
“I wanted to see how strong you actually were and my surroundings. You see… Bulwark Demons are a little bit tricky after all.”
The Bulwark Demon snorted. “Bug.”
Without giving Simon time to rest, he dashed toward him at a very fast speed, then he swung his hammer down with a single hand.
“I’ll crush you.”
Simon’s lips curled up into a smile.
“I don’t think so.”
He raised his right hand, then he coated his fist with demonic energy.
The Bulwark saw this, but he sneered and was not bothered in the slightest.
Even though Simon was wearing the robes of the Shadowgrave Clan, he was still an assassin.
And he was also a mere Fiend.
What damage could he possibly cause to him?
And that was where the Bulwark got it all wrong.
BAM!
Simon’s fist connected with the stomach of the Bulwark Demon, and before he knew it, he was sent flying.
BANG!
He crashed into the walls of an already ruined building, causing more damage to the building.
A few seconds later, he pushed away the debris and stood with a grimace on his face.
He held his stomach where Simon had punched, and he quickly took a glance at it.
Despite the fact that his body was very durable and was also a combination of flesh and stone, an imprint of Simon’s fist could be seen on his stomach.
It was severely bruised, and the Bulwark felt an intense pain coursing throughout his body.
“What kind of strength was that?”
He looked up, and he tried to find Simon, but he couldn’t.
“Did he run away?”
He was extremely baffled, but in the next moment, he felt something land on his shoulders.
“I’m right here.”
Simon’s familiar voice drifted into his ears, and before he could react, Simon dug his demonic energy coated extended claws inside his eyes, causing the Bulwark to nearly scream in pain.
Nearly, because Simon swung his other hand at the Bulwark’s mouth, cutting his mouth and part of his tongue.
The Bulwark tried to scream, but he could not.
Simon pierced his lower jaw with his claws, and his other claws were still in his eyes.
Both holes were filled his claws, and Simon pulled apart with all his strength and with the help of his demonic energy.
The Bulwark Demon trembled and he tried to attack Simon sensing the threat to his life, but he was not fast enough.
Not only was Simon stronger than him without him choosing to enhance his physical strength with demonic energy, using demonic energy made it worse for the Bulwark Demon.
Rip
Rip!
RIP!
His lower jaw was ripped off his head and the upper part of his skull was partially ripped open.
Thud
The Bulwark Demon fell to his knees and died, and Simon stood behind it with a totally indifferent gaze.
