The Broken Halo - Chapter 433: Honourable Sonya

“Alright, little kitty. Let’s go play in the sandbox.”
Simon’s lips could not help but twitch when he heard this little runt call him a little kitty for the second time.
’Maybe I’ll teach her a lesson during this spar.’
While he had this thought, Sonya cracked her knuckles as she walked deeper into the training ground, her bare feet lightly tapping against the rocky floor.
Tap
Tap
Tap
Each step of hers was soft.
Too soft that if not for Simon’s wind affinity, he would barely hear the sound of her steps.
Simon narrowed his eyes slightly.
This was not something strange to him because there were many demons in the clan who barely made sounds when they walked.
This was a clan of assassins, and walking silently was a skill that every Initiate would learn before graduating from the academy.
However, such skills usually requires the use of demonic energy to be done perfectly.
Though, the talented ones would be able to learn how to walk silently without the use of demonic energy.
And Sonya had it easy because the earth itself made it easy for her to walk without making a sound.
Despite her tiny body, each footstep carries a strange rhythm through the ground. It was subtle, almost impossible to notice, but Simon could feel tiny vibrations spreading outward from beneath her feet.
He could feel the vibrations passing through his body, and he understood two things.
The first is that this was Sonya’s way of seeing.
She was reading the terrain.
And the second is that she was reading him.
These vibrations created an image of his body size, structure, and even internal structure in Sonya’s mind.
’She’s a talented Kragh.’
Sonya stopped nearly fifteen meters away from him, then rolled her shoulders lazily.
“So.” She tilted her head slightly beneath her mask. “How do you wanna lose, little kitty?”
Simon folded his arms and looked at her from top to bottom.
“With your height and long, pointed ears. You look more like the little kitty to me.”
Sonya chuckled with a dangerous and threatening tone as she stretched one arm over her head.
“I guess you don’t know me, cause if you did, you wouldn’t dare to insult my height.”
Simon tilted his head slightly and looked at her with an amused expression.
“And who are you?”
Sonya smirked beneath her mask, then she placed her hands on her waist and raised her chin up slightly.
“I am the Unshaken One, the Groundbreaker, the Living Mountain, the Queen of Tremors, and the Tyrant Beneath The Sky.”
She pointed at Simon dramatically.
“And you shall call refer to me from now on as Honourable Sonya.”
Simon blinked and looked at Sonya with an incredulous expression.
“What’s with all the titles? And why Honourable Sonya?”
Sonya lowered her hand and placed it on her hips.
“For I alone am the honoured one beneath the skies of the Demon Realm.”
Simon blinked, then he looked to his left, then to his right, then he looked up, then he covered his face with his hand, and shook his head.
“Yeah. You definitely have a problem. Ninth grade syndrome?”
Sonya scoffed, completely ignoring the fact that she didn’t understand what Simon meant by ninth grade syndrome.
“I will ignore your impudence for now.”
Simon’s lips twitched.
“And don’t think I’m going easy on you because master brought you here. If you’re weak, I’m beating your ass and telling master that he shall not waste the time of this honourable.”
Simon shook his head, choosing to completely ignore her words.
He calmly got into a stance.
“Likewise.”
The air became still.
Then…
BOOM!
The ground beanyh Sonya exploded.
A crater formed where she had been standing as her tiny figure shot toward Simon like a cannonball.
Simon’s eyes sharpened.
’She’s fast.’
He shifted sideways instantly.
Sonya’s fist tore through the air beside his face.
Boom!
The shockwave alone blasted his white hair violently backward.
Her eyes flickered slightly when she realized that she missed.
It seems Simon was not a complete weakling.
Though she missed and had this thought, her other hand was already moving as she slowly fell to the ground.
But it was not a punch.
It was a palm strike aimed at his ribs.
Simon twisted his waist and blocked with his forearm.
Boom!
The impact blasted him backward several meters, and his boots scraped violently against the rocky ground as he stabilized himself.
’What a heavy strike. It was just a palm strike but it felt like I was hit by a mountain. Her physical strength is high, but it also carries the weight of the earth with it… And this is without her using demonic energy.’
Because this was just a spar, Simon had no intention of using his demonic energy because using his demonic energy would not help Sonya to accurately gauge his capabilities and see his problem.
For Ormon to tell this little runt to teach him, it meant that she was capable.
However, he was beginning to wonder if his body would be able to endure her strikes because every strike from her tiny body felt absurdly dense.
Meanwhile, Sonya grinned beneath her mask after landing on the floor.
“Oho? You didn’t go flying?”
She stomped once.
Crack
The ground beneath Simon suddenly rose upward, and Simon’s eyes widened when he saw a jagged spike of rock erupt toward his chin.
Simon immediately jumped backward, but Sonya was already there.
She had predicted where he would land, and she had used to earth to move at a very fast speed.
Her small fist swung upward in a brutal uppercut and the ground rose beneath her fist, shortening the distance between her and Simon’s chin.
Who said because she was short she would not be able to land an uppercut on?
The earth was her domain, and height was definitely not a hindrance to her.
Simon’s pupils shrank when he saw this, and he quickly crossed both arms.
BAM!
The impact echoed across the training ground.
Simon was launched several meters into the air before flipping and landing on his feet.
He looked at Sonya with a frown.
“Why are you using your chaos? Isn’t this meant to be a spar where we only use our fists and physical body?”
Sonya sneered and pointed dramatically at him.
“I am Honourable Sonya, and I can do whatever I want. Do not lecture me little kitty.”
