The Broken Halo - Chapter 500: Abyssal Mirrors

After enslaving Lucien by placing the Will of two demonic wolfs specie and over a dozen gnawers Will in Lucien’s sea of consciousness, he moved on to Ymir.
What he did was to infuse more of his mental energy inside Ymir’s sea of consciousness so as to strengthen the ’enslavement technique.’
He also placed the Will of a dozen more gnawers and the Will of a demonic bear specie in Ymir’s sea of consciousness.
Unlike Lucien, Ymir did not resist and because Ymir’s sea of consciousness was already corrupted by his mental energy, it was an easy thing for Simon to infuse more of his mental energy into the Winter Monkey’s sea of consciousness.
After Simon finished enslaving the two demons to his satisfaction, he took a step back, withdrew his Chaos Wraps, and released a deep sigh.
’I really need to find a way to increase the regeneration rate of my mental energy.’
He placed his hands on his waist, released another sigh, then he looked at Ymir and Lucien.
Aside from his previous injuries, Ymir was okay and his actions did not cause any harm to him.
As for Lucien… His head was hung low and he was barely moving even while kneeling.
Simon frowned.
“Hey… Snap out of it.”
Lucien did not respond, and Simon held the bridge of his nose and clicked his tongue in annoyance.
“Tch.”
He knelt before Lucien, then he patted his face.
“I don’t care about how you feel, but I need you to answer my questions or I might do worse things to you.”
Simon’s voice was deathly cold, and it carried a chill that was different from the coldness of the environment.
A few seconds later, Lucien slowly raised his hand and looked at Simon.
His beautiful cyan glass eyes were no longer so beautiful. They were stained with blood and filled with anger, hatred, and resentment.
Simon however, was indifferent to it at all.
“Much better.” He indifferently said.
Lucien’s eyes flickered with killing intent for a fraction of a second before it vanished.
Simon raised an amused brow, then he stood to his full height.
“You said a lot of things about Caesar. I want you to tell me what you know about him, what you took from him, how you met him… Basically everything you know about Caesar.”
This time around, Lucien had a different expression and it was confusion.
“Are you not working with Caesar?” He asked with a suspicious tone.
Simon shook his head.
“I am not.”
Lucien became even more baffled.
“Are you not from the Shadowgrave Clan?”
Simon nodded.
“I am.”
Lucien was taken aback because he did not expect Simon to admit so easily that he was from the Shadowgrave Clan.
“Then-”
Simon raised a finger, signalling for Lucien to stop.
“According to what I was told, my late ’comrades’ and I were sent to kill you by House Mercer.”
Lucien became solemn at those words, and his eyes flashed with thick murderous intent.”
“Although that was the information given to me, I have a hunch that Caesar is also involved with this mission, and I need you to tell me what you know about him.”
Lucien frowned deeply after hearing Simon’s words.
“What is your relationship with Caesar? How do I know that you’re not just trying to trick me into telling you something that could help that bastard.”
To Lucien and Ymir’s surprise, Simon chuckled.
“Trick you?”
He chuckled for the second time.
“I don’t need to trick you because you’re already my slave.”
Lucien’s expression darkened, and Simon pointed at Lucien’s forehead.
“If you try anything funny or if you have any funny thoughts, the beasts in your sea of consciousness are going to detonate.”
“That would either completely destroy your mind or make you a retard for life.”
Lucien’s expression became ugly the moment he heard this, and Simon scoffed.
“Why do you think that I told you that I was from the Shadowgrave Clan? Or I’m telling you all these things?”
“You can’t tell anybody, not a single soul, that it was the Shadowgrave Clan that attacked your city. Just tell your parents and anybody that asks that House Mercer did it.”
“When I need you to tell your family that the Shadowgrave Clan are the true culprits, I’ll let you know.”
Simon’s eyes gleamed with a cold light as he said these words, and for some reason, Lucien had a bad feeling about them.
“So, do you understand me Lucien? When you get back, think of a suitable lie to tell your family and people, but don’t tell them about me or about what happened here… Unless I reach out to you and tell you to do so.”
“How will you reach out to me? Nobody knows where the Shadowgrave Clan is, but I’m very sure it’s not in the north.” Lucien asked.
Simon snapped his fingers, and two floating mirrors appeared in front of him.
The moment Lucien saw the mirrors, he was intrigued.
“What are these mirrors?”
Simon gestured with two of his fingers, and one of the mirrors moved toward Lucien.
“Abyssal mirrors. They’re communication devices I bought from the clan. They’re quite expensive.”
Lucien grabbed the abyssal mirror with a fascinated expression.
The mirror’s was black and had faint crimson lines streaming across it, and the glass itself was not like normal glass.
It was black, completely black.
It was an utterly strange mirror.
In the demon realm, there were several means of communication, and Lucien just discovered another means.
“As long as they’re not damaged and you infuse your demonic energy and mental energy into it, you’ll be able to communicate with me.”
“My abyssal mirror is going to vibrate if you try communicating with me, and even if it’s in your spatial ring, you’ll still feel the vibration.”
Lucien’s gaze flickered, then he infused his demonic energy and mental energy into his abyssal mirror.
Simon’s abyssal mirror vibrated, then he placed a finger on it and sent his demonic energy and mental energy into it.
Both mirrors rippled, and Simon saw Lucien’s image on his abyssal mirror while Lucien saw Simon’s image on his own abyssal mirror.
“Fascinating.” Lucien mumbled softly.
Simon ended the connection, then he sent his abyssal mirror back into his spatial ring.
“I can also reach out to you through the beasts in your mind. So, we have two methods of communication.”
Lucien’s expression became thoughtful, but Simon did not allow the young prodigy to delve into his thoughts.
“Now that that is out of the way, answer my questions about Caesar. And the fist question you should answer is what you took from him.”
Lucien looked at Simon for a few seconds before releasing a tired sigh.
“It’s in my spatial ring. You have it, so you can check it out.”
