The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System - Chapter 589 - The Cosmic Dawn Sect (02)

Chapter 589 – The Cosmic Dawn Sect (02)
As he looked at the young people’s eyes, brimming with excitement, the old man’s lips curved into a gentle smile.
Most of them were still in the realm of the astral body and had a long way to go.
The Astral Blood Realm.
The Celestial Ascension Realm.
The Celestial Origin Realm.
The Cosmic Dominion Realm, and finally, the First Step of the Path of Extinction Realm, Where they might even become elders of the sect. There were many other cultivation realms beyond these, but he did not believe any of those young people had the talent to go beyond that.
How could they?
The current sect leader was a genius born once every thousand years, and yet, he had never managed to take a step further after surpassing the first step of the path of extinction and reaching the realm of the Stellar Sovereign.
Sighing and pushing those thoughts aside, the elder observed the face of each of the young men and women.
His gaze lingered on one of them for a moment longer than on the others.
‘A dragon, huh?” He scratched his beard.
Even here, dragons were rare, especially purebloods.
‘And a black dragon, of all things. This year’s selection is going to be very interesting!
Qingyi felt the elder’s gaze rest on him for a moment.
Lifting his face, he stood silently beside Chen Wei.
“The selection will be based on three tests.” The elder cleared his throat, coughing lightly. “The first is a test of perception. The second, of Qi manipulation. The third, of individual combat.”
“Any questions?” he asked, more out of habit than anything else.
He knew no one would dare open their mouth.
With a faint smile, he waved his hands.
“Form a line, in an orderly and silent manner.”
No one dared make a single sound or break formation, slowly entering through the portal that would lead to the selection hall.
Chen Wei was among the last to enter, side by side with Qingyi.
Behind him, he felt two burning gazes laden with murderous intent, the young heir of the Luo family and his younger brother, fixing their eyes on him like a thousand daggers.
Forcing himself to be strong, he took a step forward.
The elder and the ten inner disciples waited until the last of the youths had crossed the portal, then closed it immediately.
“Let’s go.” With a smooth movement, the elder’s body vanished, followed by the other ten disciples.
He was eager to see who would be the first to complete the trials and if there were any youths with real potential in that batch of talents.

The moment Qingyi stepped through the portal, he felt the space around him tremble. A powerful spatial blockade surrounded him on all sides.
“I can’t break through this…” he muttered, looking around.
He was in a closed, dark room.
In front of him stood a single, massive steel door, over twenty meters tall and weighing dozens of tons.
Qingyi pressed his palm against it and pushed.
His feet sank into the floor and his muscles trembled, but the door didn’t even budge.
“It’s no use…” Ruxue murmured, appearing at his side. “This test cannot be overcome with brute force. You need to sense the flow of Qi and use it to unlock the door.”
She could do it for him, but she doubted Qingyi would want to go that route.
“Hm… okay, thanks, honey.” Qingyi kissed Ruxue’s lips and gave her huge tits a gentle squeeze.
“Nghnnn~~ Come to the mind world when you’re done; the girls are excited to see the celestial heavens. Ruxue returned to the mind world, drawing a smile from Qingyi.
Using his draconic eyes, he studied the flow of Qi at the door intently.
It was… strange.
The Qi moved chaotically, but not completely chaotically. There was order there, the Qi didn’t flow like a river, but rather like small
spheres.
These spheres traveled along predefined paths, but there were so many that the trajectory seemed random, constantly shuffling. “Ten thousand spheres of Qi…” Qingyi counted, channeling all his draconic Qi into his mind and memorizing the positions and routes of
each one.
That was the hard part. What remained was something any cultivator of the Astral Body Realm should be able to do.
Aligning Qi flows.
When he felt ready, he moved his Qi toward the door, without any
resistance.
Dividing it into ten thousand threads, he began to work, aligning each
individual thread with one of the Qi spheres.
Soon, patterns began to emerge on the steel door, following the
spheres’ route and forming drawings.
A woman holding the moon, each Qi sphere moving like the stroke of
a brush.
At that moment, Qingyi understood.
The locking mechanism of that door was, in reality, a painting.
The correct way to solve it was not to memorize it, as he had done,
but rather to understand the painting and use Qi to draw it on the
door.
Fortunately, his method worked as well and, with a click, the locking mechanism opened.
Pressing both hands against the door, Qingyi opened it easily and stepped forward, entering the second test, a trial of Qi manipulation. He was eager to see how this would work, and as soon as the metal door closed behind him, his lips curled.
An overwhelming pressure fell upon his body, as if a thousand elephants were pressing him down.
Before him lay a corridor stretching about a hundred meters, with a
door at the end.
When he took a step forward, the pressure immediately doubled.
The basis of that test was the efficiency and skill with which one manipulated Qi.
Only with perfect and efficient use would it be possible to reach the end. Otherwise, the cultivator would run out of Qi halfway through, and with that terrifying pressure, he would likely be crushed to death.
‘This is a test where I don’t even need to break a sweat! Qingyi shook his head, summoning his lineage projection.
The moment the head of a massive black dragon appeared behind him, the pressure ceased, the formations collapsing with the dragon’s
roar.
