The dragon's harem - Chapter 1290 - 1290: Devil Rain

It was going to take Arad and Tempo quite a while to liberate the whole Volcanic Titan’s kingdom from the clutches of Damnation. Arad wished that he could just pop out his expansion and erase all of the Lava Spawns in a single swoop, but the moment Damnation learns about him, she’ll flee.
Raptur had only stood and fought him because he wasn’t aware of Arad’s power until the last second, but even with that, he still managed to flee. This time, Arad won’t make the same mistake. He might be one of the most powerful living beings in this world. His mission might be to liberate whole worlds, but that didn’t mean he was beneath playing a stealth assassin when he needed to.
Damnation won’t flee, and Vorvadoss won’t get the kill this time.
As he started planning on how to attack Damnation and hopefully kill it before it could understand what was happening, Arad’s incarnation in the Storm Titan’s Kingdom was in the feast with Tyal and the others.
The food was nice, the Titans were happy, and everything was going according to plan.
Tyal had taken the throne, Gale and his wives were alive and well, and no one wanted to kill them. It actually worked perfectly, and Arad couldn’t believe how smooth it went. Except for the problem of Raptur, nothing went wrong at all.
Arad had even made a new friend, or was it a student? Euri, the brat with a tongue longer than most snakes. While waiting for the feast to start, he fought Arad several times to learn how to control his devil’s blood better. The two even found a quiet corner to drink in.
Euri still didn’t like Arad marrying Tyal because he was a dragon, but at least now he has more than reason to get over it. Arad was the one teaching him how to control his devil powers. Tyal was the one covering up for him, and Zeus had even promised to take care of Euri and teach him well in Arad’s absence.
“You’ve had everyone fooled. How did you do it?” Euri looked at Arad with a calm face.
Arad shrugged. “Which part are you talking about?”
“The part where no one found out about your power, the part where he managed to plan all of this perfectly and even fit an abomination hunt in the middle of it.” Euri sighed.
“I only planned the outer edges, a rough sketch. When something unexpected happened, I had to improvise. Plans never go the way you’d want.” He sighed.
“I really didn’t expect Raptur to be here. Well, that’s a lie. I expected that a powerful abomination would be sealed beneath the chasm. I just didn’t expect it to escape when I was here.”
Euri laughed, “Must’ve smelled you from ten thousand kilometers away. I don’t know much about abominations, but they are supposed to be creatures beyond our understanding and limitations, right?”
“Technically, you’re right. The abominations were born outside the universe. They aren’t bound by the same laws we are bound with.” He looked up. “For example, the goddess of magic can’t prevent them from casting magic powerful enough to rip the fabric of mana. Death can’t claim them, and their interference twists fate.”
“So they must be stopped. Killed or not, they shouldn’t be allowed into the universe.” Euri stood, and Arad did the same with a nod, “Not quite. I’m sure there are many exceptions to that rule. Nothing is ever black and white.”
“Shit! No joke. The Undead even slipped between life and death. So why would other things be so easily separated into black and white?” He laughed, and the two moved away as the feast was about to start.
The feast was nothing special, especially since Tyal still wasn’t feeling the best. Arad sat with her the whole time, trying to look the part and not let any harm come to her. Zeus warned him that there might be some fools who try to use the feast to assassinate her. Titans were just like humans. After all, not everyone followed the rules.
After the feast, everything calmed down, and it was time for Arad to leave. He wanted to get this incarnation to help with the Volcanic Titan’s kingdom. Like, leave one to act as the female Titan Hero that came with Tempo and sneak after Damnation with the second one.
“Are you leaving so soon?” Tyal’s mother looked at her.
“She is right. Stay here for a while.” Another of Gale’s wives looked at her with a smile.
“I have to go. Well, not me. Arad has to go. I’ll be going with him.” Tyal shook her head.
Arad looked at her, “I can get here with ease. You can stay. You’re their queen now. I’ll pick you up whenever you want.”
Zeus approached Arad and smacked him on the back, “What are you saying, kid? She is your wife. Take her with you. Leave the work here for me. I’ve got more experience.” He smiled and glanced at Tyal, “Go have your honey decade.”
Arad blinked twice, “I thought it was a moon, a month?”
“Yeah, little humans don’t live that much. But do come visit every now and then. The people need to see their queen and king.” Zeus looked at the throne, “And so, we’re now officially a vassal of your empire. Funny, when I first saw you, I thought we’d be the ones taking you in, not the opposite.”
Since Arad could literally travel between the kingdoms in minutes, if not seconds, they only said a short farewell, and Arad flew away with everyone, making a huge show with a roar so the Titans could see them taking off.
When Arad was a suitable distance away from the Storm Titan’s Kingdom, he teleported the carriage and everyone inside it through his stomach and back to Alina. He then dismissed this incarnation and summoned it beside the one in the Volcanic Titan’s kingdom. With that, he set an end to the events of the Storm Kingdom, or so he thought. Later that night, just six hours after Arad left, Zeus was enraged. Gale, the little bastard, was supposed to help him deal with the cleanup after the feast. He’ll snap his back in half when he finds him.
“GALE! You little SHIT! Come out here. Stop hugging your wives, or I’ll lock you in the office to work for a year straight!” But no one replied for a while.
It was then that Zeus’s eyes shot open as a familiar smell washed over his nose. Blood and rain. He kicked the door down and jumped inside, finding Gale and his wives dead, their heads severed and lined on a table.
Behind the table, Euri was sitting with bloodied hands.
Blood rushed to Zeus’s head as he roared, his whole body crackling with lightning enough to shake the whole castle. “You swine! Even your own mother!”
“Traitors shall die. I don’t discriminate based on personal feelings.” He looked at Zeus with a cold, emotionless face. “All those who planned this charade are dead as they should be.”
Zeus didn’t waste a second and lunged at him, swinging his fist to rip the bastard’s head off.
Euri easily dodged the attack. And spoke in a calm tone. “That’s it, hate me. It was the same for them. I only needed to kill one to get enough power to finish the rest.” He then kicked Zeus away.
“The power I get is proportional to the power of those that hate me, higher risk, higher reward. But you aren’t my target.”
“You waited until Arad left! Just wait until he comes!” Zeus growled.
“You’re smart. Arad is indeed a strange person. I doubt I could face him no matter how much hatred he’ll harbor against me.” Euri smiled, “May the Storm Titans prosper now that the ancient law has been upheld. See you later, old man.”
Euri then disappeared into a cloud of rain, his aura shifting devilish before he was no more.
