The dragon's harem - Chapter 1531: Eris Vs Gamond: A Divine Spark

Chapter 1531: Eris Vs Gamond: A Divine Spark
Denki had already lost to Claug, and Balina had been beaten to a pulp by Gamond, which only left Eris and Gamond to fight, a fight that Arad didn’t recommend.
Arad’s wives had combined their power to defeat Gamond, but they lost.
She had managed to put Eris, Aella, and Merida all down at the same time. But today, Gamond found herself standing face-to-face with Eris.
So what did change today? Nothing, absolutely nothing had changed. Eris was her same old self, standing in front of Gamond, ready to fight her once more.
For some reason, the world had gone silent, and the storm raging outside to protect the Star Mountain had calmed, allowing the two to enjoy a moment of silence.
Hold and cold, purple and white, plasma and ice, watching them standing in the middle of the arena, even Arad felt that something bad was about to happen.
“Are you sure about this? I won’t go easy on you.” Gamond smiled as she took a step forward, confident in her power. Unlike all of Arad’s other wives, she was built differently.
She was the only drakaina here to have surpassed twilight and achieved the rank of an Elder Dragon. Her cold magic was powerful enough to freeze a whole world. She had once fought her entire world, killed everyone there with her claws, dragons, demons, and humans alike.
If Isbert hadn’t come and caught her, she would’ve lived for thousands of years and died with her world of starvation, sitting on a frozen throne of a dead world.
It takes a lot of power to challenge one’s whole world and win, but Gamond had achieved that, and doing the same here wasn’t impossible.
It won’t matter how much heat Eris can conjure; Gamond’s cold would absorb it all and shoot right back at her.
That’s why in this fight, Gamond approached first with measured steps. She was the dominant fighter, and by this moment, it was clear to everyone that she was the superior drakaina, with everyone else having to bow to her will.
The ranking of Arad’s wives, the drakainas present here at least, was clear. Gamond was at the top, followed by Claug, Balina, Eris, Betty, Kory, Ryan, Denki, and then Zul.
This ranking would change a bit when Grace recovers from whatever mental damage she received from getting treated by Elis. Judging by her power, Grace would sit between Claug and Balina. While Zul, when fully recovered, could overthrow Kory and Ryan with ease, dealing with Betty might be a bit too hard for her.
This meant the gap between Eris and Gamond was massive, far too oppressive, and she didn’t want Arad to think she bullied the other wives. That was the reason she didn’t join the earlier fights and waited until the finals, but here she is, facing Eris for a change.
This fight won’t take long. Eris would fall, and Gamond would finally take her seat next to Arad, with everyone else beneath her.
But what was this strange feeling she was getting? Looking at Eris, some of her senses were tingling.
Gamond is an Elder dragon; she had surpassed her limits, and so did her senses. She knew about everyone else here more than they knew about themselves.
Gamond knew that Claug hid a superweapon that might even kill her; she could just smell the danger around the ancient drakaina, fully understanding that if the two of them were to seriously fight, she must kill Claug instantly, not allowing her a second to approach, like killing a snake with a fireball from range.
For Balina, freeze her soap to win.
For Claug, blast her from afar and never get close to her corpse.
For Betty, freeze everything to catch her when she stops.
For Zul, freeze her.
For Kory, smash her down.
For Ryan, rip her body apart before she could counter.
For Denki, one kick would be enough.
For Grace, potent cold magic would eventually catch her off guard, and she would freeze to death.
But for Eris, many things didn’t add up. Can she really freeze her? A purple dragon with enough plasma and sun magic fueled by Amaterasu? Can her blood control be a threat? What about the Murder Portfolio?
Gamond knew that Eris was a threat, but she couldn’t guess how much of a danger she really is. That’s why for this fight, she decided to take things seriously and be careful.
Gamond took a stance and looked at Eris, lifting one hand and getting ready. “Come, let’s see how much stronger you’ve gotten in the past days.”
Eris took a deep breath, leaned back, and plasma exploded beneath her feet, propelling her forward like a rocket. She reached Gamond in the blink of an eye and swung her fist down with a burst of purple light.
Gamond grabbed Eris’s fist and tried to freeze it, quickly failing as the plasma generated enough heat to resist Gamond’s cold magic.
Gamond’s palm started smoking in that fraction of a second, but she immediately let go and swung a kick at Eris’s stomach, sending her flying back. “You’re hot, but slow.”
Eris didn’t hit anything or even land; the plasma burning beneath her feet stabilized her mid-air, and she changed direction, flying right back at Gamond with a burning kick.
Gamond ducked beneath the attack and swung at Eris’s back, only to get flashbanged with radiant purple wings. [Death Butterfly]
Eris’s whole body exploded into plasma, her clothes shifted into a dress of liquid fire, and two massive, butterfly-like wings flapped behind her back as she rapidly turned around and flew behind Gamond, her foot coming down as spears of blood burst from the ground.
Gamond looked back, only to see a purple sphere falling on her, followed by Eris’s foot.
[Purple Sun]
Eris had created a one-foot-wide purple sun, made from compressed plasma, and pushed it straight onto Gamond’s face, initiating an explosion at the moment of impact.
The entire arena was washed with purple light, bursting into flames just a second later. But even with all of that power, Gamond didn’t fall, and Eris found herself standing on Gamond’s face.
The purple sun had failed to do any damage beyond burning Gamond’s eyebrows and eyelashes away, and the spear of blood coming from the ground had shattered on her solid scales.
“If you want to scratch my scales, then you’ll need to hit at least with enough power to rattle a small kingdom.” Gamond pulled Eris down and punched her in the guts, sending her flying back with a trail of blood and sparks.
“Your purple sun can level a mountain to the ground, but to me, that is like hitting a human with a decently powerful firecracker.” She wiped her face and smiled, “It hurts, burns a bit, it can even blind me… But it isn’t enough to kill me unless you’re extremely lucky…” Gamond laughed and coughed a mouthful of blood.
“Or, if you’re a demigoddess of Murder and infuse your killing will into your attacks. I see, this is the threat I felt.” She licked her lips, looked at Eris standing up, then back at Arad. “See her? Her divine portfolio allows her to deal more damage and kill anything she touches.”
Eris took a step forward, her toes melting the ground beneath them. Her eyes flashed red and purple, the air around her superheated until it burst into flames, and her butterfly wings expanded to grow bigger with purple scales emerging on her body.
Two massive draconic wings burst from her back, followed by another pair of bat-like wings, giving her a total of three pairs. A butterfly pair from her magic, a draconic pair, and a vampire pair.
The Murder Portfolio burned with malice, and her draconic heart rumbled like an engine, forcing her dormant draconic fundamentum to awaken and turn her eyes into slitted draconic eyes.
No, in fact, she had grown two more pupils inside her eyes. The slitted, cat-like draconic eyes, the red vampire eyes, and a pair of golden divine eyes.
Those three pupils merged together and turned into crossed eyes, radiating with enough light that telling which color they were was almost impossible.
Eris roared, and the ground around her all melted and splashed forth like a raging wave, reaching Gamond in the blink of an eye.
“Oh, my.” Gamond took a deep breath and then unleashed a powerful draconic breath, freezing the plasma back into obsidian.
“I’d say you’re about the level of a wyrm… a great wyrm if I counted all of that divine magic.” Gamond disappeared and then appeared behind Eris, “How long can you maintain this state?” She grabbed Eris from the back of her neck and threw her into the sky.
“We’ve got a lot of space, so let’s use our wings a bit!”
