The dragon's harem - Chapter 1532 - 1532: Eris Vs Gamond: Merging

Eris flew into the sky, her plasma burning the air as Gamond flew at her, swinging a punch.
The air around Gamond’s fist condensed into liquid before bursting into flames the moment she got close to Eris, exploding into a radiant purple rose of fire.
Eris caught the punch with her hand and swung back, her fist flashing brightly with each hit. She put her whole back behind all of those attacks, overcharging them with her plasma and divine magic, trying to melt and shatter Gamond’s azure scales with each hit.
Gamond deflected the barrage of punches with relative ease, only bothered by the blinding light and lack of breathable air around Eris. She spun and grabbed her by the hair, pulling her down, and dropped a heavy kick on her.
Eris blocked the kick with both hands and flapped her wings, releasing a radiant wave of bone-melting heat that washed over the air, searing Gamond’s scales.
Gamond looked unbothered by the heat, as her cold magic was far more potent than anything Eris could throw at her, so she pushed her foot down with even more force, shattered Eris’s arms, and sent her spinning back to the ground.
Eris flapped her wings to stabilise her fall and glared up, seeing Gamond falling on her like a meteor. Being both physically and magically weaker, Eris had to avoid direct confrontations as much as possible, so she dodged the attack and conjured a massive spear of plasma.
Gamond missed Eris and hit the ground, instantly freezing the whole arena. “You’re a nimble one!” She glared at her with a mad smile, her blue eyes sparking with disturbing malice.
Eris gasped, but kept her cool, rushing in with her spear in hand. She swung at Gamond’s neck, but her attack got easily deflected aside. She felt as if she had tried to hit a moving carriage; her wrists almost snapped.
She tried to chain a second attack, but Gamond was already upon her, unleashing a barrage of punches that annihilated her chest and arms.
Feeling her ribcage shatter, Eris tried to take a step back, but was immediately caught by the neck.
“We’re dragons! So know your place and stay down!” She punched her in the face, neck, and chest again, and then with one powerful slap, she sent Eris spinning to the ground.
Eris hit the frozen ground face-first, bounced back, and got onto her feet, immediately screaming as loud as she could as she unleashed an explosion of plasma.
The ice around them melted, evaporated, and then turned into plasma. That plasma then turned into giant hands that clenched tight on Gamond, trying to both crush and cook her alive.
Eris knew that such an attack wouldn’t be enough to keep Gamond down, so she overcharged the plasma with divine magic and unleashed one powerful divine smite, trying to deal as much damage as she could.
As the massive hands flashed with divine light, a massive ice spear flew out of them and pierced Eris’s chest, pinning her to the ground, which immediately froze solid once more.
The entire arena froze, and Gamond shattered now solid hands to pieces and jumped down from them, looking at Eris with a grin.
“Aren’t you an energetic one? Not even Balina would’ve dared to keep fighting me. The gap between Great Wyrms and Elder dragons is just that massive, and you aren’t even a true dragon.”
The cat walk, the glowing blue eyes, the ice roses growing where she walks, the air around her condensing into liquid, and the frozen obsidian cooling to the point of shattering like dust behind her. Gamond was getting colder and colder by the second, slowly unleashing more and more and more of her power.
Eris wasn’t facing one of Arad’s wives now; she wasn’t even facing a normal drakaina or a monster. She was facing a frigid horror, a walking calamity that once obliterated a whole world.
The fact that Arad had managed to beat her was a miracle. But unlike Eris, he had countless [Ho-white Nova]s inside his stomach to give him enough heat to resist Gamond’s oppressive cold.
That gave Eris an idea, and she smiled, melting the spear impaling her chest.
As she fell and stood straight, she put her hands together and looked at Gamond with a smile, “I got it, it’s simple, really.”
As Eris opened her arms, a purple sun emerged between her fingers and started spinning rapidly, absorbing Gamond’s ice.
The plasma absorbed the water and air ice, melted it into a liquid, and then that liquid evaporated. Then it gets heated even further until its particles break apart into oxygen and hydrogen, which burns even hotter and fuels the purple sun.
Eris kept spinning the sun and compressing, and more plasma into it, devouring Gamond ice to empower her plasma even further.
This was the start, the catalyst, and it only took her a fraction of a second to tip over the edge.
Gamond saw Eris’s purple sun growing hotter, but she didn’t understand that her ice was the fuel. She thought that Eris was just using her magic to make the sun hotter, so she lunged forward and swung her arm, throwing a whole mountain of ice at Eris.
The mountain crashed down, burying Eris beneath it in the blink of an eye. As the massive cracks expanded through the whole Arena, Gamond noticed something strange.
The arena was growing bigger, rapidly, as if Lola’s magic was affecting it. She looked at the walls, seeing them flying away from the center of the arena at several tens of meters per second, and she could clearly see the patterns woven into the whole colosseum.
This whole place gets bigger or smaller based on the fighters inside. This was a dragon’s colosseum after all.
Gamond herself was still in her humanoid form, so the one that’s forcing the arena to expand wasn’t her.
She looked at her mountain of ice and saw it rapidly melting as fire burst from the cracked ground. A second later, the whole mountain exploded into a torrent of roiling plasma.
From the plasma, a massive Purple Drakaina emerged, at least three hundred meters long without her tail.
Gamond didn’t waste a second and transformed as well, but instead of turning into her massive draconic form, she chose to make herself smaller, the same size as Eris, so she wouldn’t become an easy massive target. It was clear that Eris’s strongest power was her wide area explosions, so being a massive target would be quite disadvantageous.
Gamond didn’t even think about it, but she was already acting like that because something in the back of her head could sense the rapid change. She had perceived Eris to be nearing a wyrm power level as a mere humanoid, but now, she was as powerful as a demigod great wyrm.
For the first time since her fight with Arad, Gamond felt that something was going against her will; her opponent, Eris, wasn’t going to fall as easily as everyone else.
Eris absorbed all of Gamond’s ice and disintegrated into hydrogen and oxygen to fuel her purple plasma, and using that power, she jumped forward in her draconic form, swinging her massive claw down at Gamond’s head with a blast of divine magic.
[Divine Cleaver]
Gamond lifted her wing to deflect Eris’s strike, getting ready to counter at the moment of the impact. She was planning to beat Eris enough to knock her out, but as it seems now, this fight won’t end without one of them being maimed to the bones.
It has been a thousand years since Gamond had to fight like this, not counting her fateful encounter with Arad. She was both happy and worried. Pleased that another drakaina in Arad’s lair was this powerful, this would mean that no matter who stays to guard their eggs, those little wyrmlings are going to be safe.
But this also means that Eris here threatens her spot as the first wife, which Gamond wasn’t going to easily let go of, especially with her being the eldest.
Eris’s claw came crashing down with divine light, and instead of bouncing off Gamond’s wing as expected, it cleaved right through, ripping the wing off with claws as hot as the core of the sun and as sharp as the will of Murder itself.
As blood splashed all over the place and evaporated. Arad stood from his chair and glared at the fight; his eyes could see the Divine Portfolio of Murder and Eris’s draconic fundamentum merging together, forming a new collective power.
She wasn’t going to remain a purple dragon any longer, but she was rapidly turning into something else, another kind entirely, fueled by her Divine portfolio of murder and Amaterasu’s sun grace.
