Chapter 1781: A Demonic Meeting
Arad shifted his head and then looked closer at The Demon Lord of Hope’s face, and then asked with a confused face. “What is a human doing here?”
All of the Demon Lords froze in place, and the Demon Lord of Hope screamed, “HAAAAAAA! What are you saying?!”
It has been such a long time that even she forgot, but indeed, she was a human, and is still a human. Her body might be dripping with demonic magic, and she might’ve lived for thousands of years, but Arad couldn’t be fooled. This woman he is now carrying was a mere human, a powerful one, but still a human.
“About her, Father gave her to me as my first worshipper when I was born. Since I got attached to her as if she were a toy that I didn’t want to lose, he used his power to make her indestructible.” Kali approached and gave the Demon Lord of Hope a glance. “Even till today, I still can’t understand how he cast such a magic.”
Arad slowly lowered the Demon Lord of Hope to the ground and gave her another look. “There are threads of demonic and divine magic linked between you and her, more than I have with you.” Arad reached into the thin air and touched those threads. “She is a powerful cleric, and I suspect that he bound her to you. Now, all damage she takes is negated by your destruction divine magic.”
Kali looked closer at the Demon Lord of Hope. “Aren’t those just the threads of divine magic she uses to cast her cleric magic?”
Arad looked even closer. “Yes, they are the same, but I suspect they are also used to maintain her invulnerability…”
“Are you two really inspecting her powers right now?” Lunara approached and stood between them and the Demon Lord of Hope. “One of you is a demonic goddess who can flip the entire abyss upside down, and the other is a dragon who fist fought a universal threat. You’ll scare and confuse everyone here.”
Hearing her, Kali sighed and walked away, stretching her arms. “You’re right. Let’s go, Arad, time to play a bit.” As she and Arad headed toward the throne, Lunara followed them to everyone’s surprise.
When they reached the throne, Arad sat on it, and Kali jumped to take a seat on his right leg. Lunara took a seat on the other leg and looked at the Demon Lord of Beasts and the Demon Lord of Harpies with a troubled face.
The demon lords were shaken, but they quickly returned to their places, hoping to get an explanation as soon as possible.
Kali looked at them with a smile and then spoke. “As you might’ve already guessed, I’m not taking Arad as my consort; he is the one taking me as his wife.” She looked at Lunara, “And surprisingly, she is also one of his wives, so I guess we two are equal on this front.”
Lunara looked at her. “Not really equal. She is far stronger than I am, so she gets to be with him in more critical moments than I could.” Lunara had to explain that unless one of those Demon Lords thinks they can match Kali’s status by just shaking their butt around Arad.
“So, I called you all here to inform you that you all are going to become his servants, and your job is to help rule the abyss.” She then waved her arm, “All of you, do you have any questions?”
The Demon Lord of Illusions spoke first. “What do you mean by servants? Like we serve you now?”
Kali smiled. “Arad here has wives, below them are concubines, then mistresses, then maids, and lastly servants are the lowest rank.” She leaned on Arad’s chest. “By servants I mean that rank, if we go now to his house, you all would be lower than a mere human maid, and if she were to ask you to kneel to her, you’ll have to do it with a smile and gratitude.”
The Demon Lord of Rot stared at Arad for a second, then asked as Kali finished talking. “That rank isn’t set in stone. I believe we should be able to rank up quickly thanks to our power, right?”
Lunara looked at her, then nodded. “That is true, as you can see, I’m a wife after all.” She then looked at Arad, “Of course, it won’t be as easy for you now that the ranks of the wives are filled and becoming a new one is harder than ever before.”
The demon lords looked at each other, then the Demon Lord of Ash asked with a worried voice. “Do we have a choice?” She looked around at everyone, “Are we allowed to say no to this?”
Kali looked at her with a smile, slightly disappointed. “Yes, but not all of you.” She then pointed at the Demon Lord of Hope. “You’re my cleric, and I’ll be taking you with me. So, you’ve got no choice.” She then pointed at the Demon Lord of Wrath, “And you are the second strongest Asura demon in the abyss after me, so I’m having you bear children to continue the lineage and prevent us from going extinct.”
She then cleared her throat, “Is what I would’ve said, but if I’m to force you, Arad here is going to shove his entire arm up my ass. So, all of you can say no and leave.”
The Demon Lord of Hope smiled. “Wherever you go, I’ll follow.” She was in.
The Demon Lord of Wrath scratched the back of her head. “If he can beat me, then I don’t mind. Count me in.”
“Does that mean I get to…” Before she could finish, Lunara replied. “Yes, but the lower your rank, the fewer chances you’ll get.” The large smile on the face of the Demon Lord of Lust was nothing but terrifying.
“One question from me.” The Demon Lord of Betrayal stared at them, then her gaze shifted sharply toward Arad. “Why do I smell Zephyr on him?”
Arad blinked, “Zephyr? Her herald is my wife, and she sleeps with her every night. Sometimes with me as well.” Hearing his answer, the Demon Lord of Betrayal frowned. “Count me in as well.” She then smiled.
Kali looked at Arad. “Careful, she plans on killing Zephyr.” And he smiled, “Let her try.”
The Demon Lord of Illusions looked at Kali, then asked a bold Question, “Would this mean I can get your blood easier?” To get Kali’s blood, a demon must be powerful enough to fight, survive, and make her bleed. Even the strongest of demons never managed to make her bleed, and all the few drops of blood that she gave out were out of pity.
“It’ll be easier, yes.” And hearing that answer, the Demon Lord of illusions was in as well.
The Demon Lord of Bursts spoke next, and she didn’t address either Lunara or Kali, but Arad directly. “What kind of woman is your favorite?”
“Tall, aggressive, and has wide hips.” Arad replied, and she smiled. “So basically me? Count me in.”
The Demon Lord of Rot was up next, and she addressed Kali. “Is there anything that I should know?”
Kali shrugged. “Nothing of importance. Just that I know you wanted to attack the fungus layer, and the Demon Lord ruling it now is one of the wives…” Before Kali could finish, Arad was gone, and the two fell on the throne.
The Demon Lord of Rot gulped, since she could sense Arad standing behind her.
“He might just kill you…” Kali finished speaking, and the Demon Lord of Rot slowly moved her hands down. She grabbed her pants and pulled them down, bent forward, and spread her cheeks open. “I’m in. We don’t have to fight. I was just asking…”
She did want to invade the fungus layer to expand her power and territory, but that was before she knew that the Demon Lord there was related to Kali or Arad. If she starts a fight with those two, then she won’t have a place in the Abyss anymore.
She waited for the painful thrust to arrive, but it never did. Arad stood behind her for a whole minute, contemplating whether to kill her now and get rid of a potential threat or leave her be. He wasn’t going to let her threaten Merida’s safety.
This reaction might’ve seemed excessive, especially since he didn’t react to the thread of the Demon Lord of Betrayal. But that was simply because the Demon Lord of Betrayal was a wind spirit, and Zephyr had power over them.
Arad teleported back to the throne, and the Demon Lord of the Rot lifted her pants up, looking at him with a sweaty face. “At least do something.”
The Demon Lord of Ash was next, and she looked worried.
At that moment, Lunara reached toward Kali and grabbed her by the face. Kali blinked, and Lunara spoke. “Open your mouth.” When Kali did, she spat in it. Kali was surprised, but she swallowed the spit nonetheless.
Lunara then did the same thing to Arad, and he too took it without asking any questions. While Kali didn’t know why Lunara did that, Arad knew since he could read her mind. The Demon Lord of Ash had sent her a secret message asking her to do that and show her how aggressive Arad and Kali could get.
“If I can one day do that safely, then I’m in.” The Demon Lord of Ash then explained that she is the one who asked Lunara to do that.
The Demon Lord of Harpies and the Demon Lord of Beasts both looked at Lunara, then sighed. “Since she is in, we’re joining in the fun.” The Demon Lord of Harpies looked a bit sad that Lunara went on without them, and the Demon Lord of Beasts looked excited to try reaching her.
The Last Demon Lord remaining was the Demon Lord of Carnage, and she leaned on her club. “Lunara, I smell blood on you. Where is that coming from?”
“Blood? Do you mean the Murder Portfolio?” She looked at her arms, and the Demon Lord of Carnage smiled. “Yep, that, as long as its owner serves me, I’m in.”
Lunara sighed. “Eris is one of Arad’s wives, and a higher-ranked one at that. If she wanted Kali to kiss her feet, then she would get her way. So, you’ll be the one serving her instead.”
The Demon Lord of Carnage shrugged. “Fine, I’ll serve her. But I want a lick of that Murder magic of hers.”
With all the demon lords having agreed, it was finally time to address some details.
Kali clapped her hands. “I know this is early, but I’ll rank up one of you.” She then pointed at the Demon Lord of Hope. “You’ll be a mistress under me. I already have an archon called Diana as a concubine, and you’ll serve under her directly. Learn how to tend to me, and show me your worth.”
Albeit being surprised and confused, the Demon Lord of Hope quickly knelt down and accepted her new role.
Lunara then spoke, looking at the Demon Lord of Harpies and the Demon Lord of Beasts. “I did talk to the other wives, and I managed to get permission to take you two as mistresses as well. I hope you don’t mind serving under me for a while.”
The two looked shocked, but then smiled. “You got us a quick rank up?”
