The dragon's harem - Chapter 1788: Kali’s Rules

Chapter 1788: Kali’s Rules
“Aloe!” The Demon Lord of Carnage, “Why do you care about her? You never show interest in anything besides expanding your domain in the Abyss.” Since Aloe was a spirit before, as a demon lord now, she was pretty reclusive. They didn’t know how she ended up in the abyss, or how she turned into a demon, but they knew she pretty much stayed out of everyone’s path.
“What are you talking about? If Zephyr is involved with anyone, they are bound to become monsters capable of shifting the tides of the world.” She flew around the crater, found a nice spot on the edge, and sat down, soaking her feet in the hot water.
“It is always a good idea to keep an eye on what Zephyr is up to.” She then threw a glance at the Demon Lord of Carnage. “Galleon, what about you?”
Galleon, the Demon Lord of Carnage, smiled as she leaned back, “Me? I can’t wait to see that Goddess of Murder, didn’t he just say that she is the sun of this world? A part of Amaterasu’s pantheon?”
She threw a glance at Arad. “Say, can I fight her a bit? I promise not to hurt her much.” She then giggled. “What am I saying? She is a goddess. I’ll probably be the one getting beaten.”
Kali looked at them and then switched her gaze to Galleon.
“Her name is Eris, and you’ll meet her later on. I’ll say this now, one-on-one, you can’t defeat her. Eris is the same kind of person as Arad. She doesn’t care about pain, exhaustion, or risk.” She then pointed at Merida who was still humping on Arad’s lap. She didn’t put anything in, but still relaxed there, allowing herself to enjoy him as she wanted.
Sally stared at her for a moment, then poked her. “Are you okay? Licking him like this and humping like a dog in heat, stop it for now. Leave it for later.”
Merida stopped moving, stared at Sally, then asked. “I’m his wife, Kali, and Lunara as well. And all of you here are either servants or mistresses. You’ll end up on his bed sooner or later, so where is the problem with what I’m doing now?” She turned and went back to licking Arad’s chest, then went to his arm, and ended up sucking on his fingers. “He is my man, and I’ll do whatever I want. If you don’t like it, then too bad.”
“She is right.” The Demon Lord of Lust butted in. “Let her do what she wants… if I could, I would’ve joined her.” She was already drooling, feeling a painful burn in her stomach just from watching.
Galleon sighed; she wanted to change the topic before it went too far. “I know she is a goddess and all, but I was hoping to at least fight her once and see what Murder was all about. The last god, what was his name again? Katal?”
Sally stared at her. “Katal, yes. But for a few seconds, someone called Vars had taken the throne, then ended his own life.” As she controlled zombies and undead, many of Vars’s undead had reported back to her.
News travels through dimensions, but it usually takes a lot of time, days, or even weeks before even the biggest of events become known. But most Demon Lords rely on their subordinate in the worlds to inform them. A demon gets summoned to do some tasks, and in the process learns of the current events and reports them back to their demon lord. This allows the demon lords to stay relatively up to date and have access to news that could allow them to better manipulate humanoids.
“Brother and I were in the fight. Vars was brother’s alley, but somewhere had turned on him. He looked to have betrayed us and was trying to ascend to godhood, but in the end, we learned that his goal all along was to kill Katal by taking his portfolio and then going down with it.”
“Heroes banding together to kill a god, a tale I haven’t heard in eons.” Galleon smiled as she leaned back and looked at the other demon lords who sat there, relaxing in the hot water. One hero tried to kill her before, and he died trying.
“It is strange, isn’t it?” The Demon Lord of Illusions looked at Kali, “A few hours ago, when you called us, I expected that one of us, or at least a few, were going to get axed. Last time you called a meeting, two demon lords died at your hands.”
Kali shrugged. “That’s a different matter. I got the demons of one to watch over an orphan, and the demon lord gave them an extra order to use the orphanage as a cult hole, which ended up in the kingdom burning the entire orphanage to the ground, with the children in it.”
She rubbed her eyes. “From the outside, it looked like a normal orphanage, but the idiot thought it was a good idea to use the basement for demonic rituals… he had to go.” She looked at them. “The other one, I didn’t tell any of you about. He made a deal with outer abominations, so I erased him.”
She smiled. “I’ve got two rules. Don’t get involved with the abominations, and don’t touch the kids. Otherwise, you are demons, so do demon things.”
“For now, you can be happy that you’re going to stand at the summit, or depth, whichever you prefer, of the Abyss. Joining me and Arad means you are now a cut higher than the other demon lords.”
“Forget about that…” The Demon Lord of Lust cut in. “I don’t care about expanding my domain or growing in rank. I’m pretty satisfied with my standing now.” She looked at Arad with glowing pink eyes. “What interests me more is him. I had never felt such a powerful lifeforce in my entire life.”
She then stood, looked at Merida, and called. “Come on, can I join you?”
Merida stopped licking Arad, looked back, and asked with a deadpan face. “You want to lick him as well?”
“Not just that, can I play with him a bit?” She licked her lips and hopped to their side.
Merida stopped looking at the Demon Lord of Lust and looked at Kali and Lunara. “Didn’t you two tell them?”
Kali rubbed the back of her head. “Thalia, wives go first, then the concubines, then the mistresses, then the maids, and lastly the servants.”
Lunara quickly added. “You’ll have to wait for your turn. Can’t skip the order, that’s the rule.”
Kali stood. “Let’s go then. We’ll have our fun in my inner heaven. Only Arad has visited it before with me.”
Outside the bath, inside the first room beside the entrance of Arad’s private royal quarter, a young maid stood, holding her suitcase in her hand, waiting with a pale and sweaty face. By her side, two other maids stood; they wore older outfits and stood just a step back.
Just like her, they looked worried, their faces pale, and their eyes darted around the room, hoping for any positive sign.
“Calm down. If you act normal, no one would suspect a thing.” One of the maids called to her. “We aren’t lying. We did sign a contract to work as your servants.”
She threw a glance at them, then whispered in a hoarse voice. “How come noble ladies are working for the daughter of a poor guard? They’ll kill us the moment they find out!”
^Hello, my name is Camilla. I’m the daughter of a humble guard who works at the royal palace. The registration for the emperor’s royal maids is over, and I’m the last one taking the special test. Those two by my side are noble daughters who missed their chance, and they are tagging with me in hope of getting in.^
She grew paler with each thought.
^I don’t know how, but I ended up agreeing to help. I might’ve been intimidated, deceived, or blinded by gold, but if the queens found out that they weren’t my servants before, and that they are tagging along to cheat the system… I’ll lose my head.^
The door suddenly opened, and the maids dropped to their knees. Queen Isdis had walked in, and she would be the one conducting the final test.
