The dragon's harem - Chapter 1831: Stand Proud

Chapter 1831: Stand Proud
Aella stretched her arms and yawned. She looked tired, but for some reason, her eyes weren’t sleepy at all, and they looked quite energetic in fact. Tired or not, she always had spare energy to play at night. She was more worried about Lexi, who was just a regular girl.
But when she looked at Lexi’s naked body, that thought quickly evaporated like a drop of water on a hot pan. Those toned muscles, abs, and well-defined shape. Even though Lexi was the weakest of them, she was still a well-trained and experienced ranger.
Even though her talent lay with magic, she had spent most of her younger years camping alone in the forest, hunting wild and deadly animals and monsters, and had boxed wolves more than just once. She would wake at dawn, cut trees for fire and shelter, then spend hours reviewing her spells, before embarking on hunts or dangerous reconnaissance missions.
Even now, Aella still couldn’t believe that Lexi here could probably bully a few trained soldiers with ease. Unlike them, she had to survive alone in a forest filled with harrowing monsters.
“Aren’t you tired?” Aella asked just in case, and Lexi looked at her with a smug smile. “I once spent a week without sleep, trembling beneath bushes in the snow. I was trying to hunt a white bear, only to find three of them and be hunted myself.” She stretched her arms, cracked her shoulders and back, then dropped on one of the chairs. “I was probably fourteen at the time.” She then smacked her chest. “Now, I still have energy in the tank.”
She then switched her gaze to Arad. “Say, which of us would you prefer, just look-wise. Me or Aella?”
Arad had to think about it for a while, but in the end, he couldn’t like. “If I have to be honest, it would be you. Might be a predisposition to power.”
Between Aella’s lean and soft-looking body and Lexi’s toned and sturdy muscles, Arad had to pick the latter.
Lexi threw a smug grin at Aella and got a shrug instead. “We already know that, just look at Mira or Eris.”
Arad crossed his arms and closed his eyes with a troubled face. “If I have to say, Aella is objectively more beautiful… but I can’t help but prefer the athletic look.”
Ganta laughed in the back as she dried her hair. “If that’s the case, what about me?” She stood, spread her arms and legs to show her body. “Look at me, I’m bigger, stronger, and far better built than those two. My chest is also bigger.”
Indeed, Ganta wasn’t just athletic; she was strongly built like a tank. Her shoulders were wide, her arms and thighs thick, and each of her muscles was clearly defined when he flexed them. She only had two problems, her skin was tough and made her body sound like wood when flexed, and from what the maids told Arad, she had a lot of body hair that she had to shave.
But to her luck, Arad didn’t mind or care for either.
The last to try and flex her beauty was Kaede, who looked as skinny as a broom and had eyes screaming that she lacked sleep, but still, her messy hair gave her some charm. Unlike Aella, Ganta, and Lexi, she didn’t actively try to show affection toward Arad, but instead kept her attitude reserved.
Arad didn’t read her mind, but he could tell how she was feeling and knew that she was just putting on a front. Those four were Arad’s partners for tonight, so, who is this fifth woman sitting naked on his lap?
“Zephyr, what are you doing?” Arad asked with a tired face, and she didn’t even look at him; instead, she threw a smug glance toward Aella.
“Of course, trying to have some fun as well. And mess with Aella a bit, I love seeing her annoyed face.”
Ganta scratched the back of her head and then looked at Aella while pointing at Zephyr. “She isn’t a part of this, right? She isn’t a wife, a concubine, a mistress, or even a maid.”
Aella sighed. “Zephyr… she just does whatever she wants. I don’t mind her, though, if I did, I would’ve minded you more.”
“Mind me?” Zephyr shrunk back to her small size, flew up and sat between Aella’s breasts. “I’m stronger than all of you combined, and I even have a daughter with him.”
Aella giggled as she rubbed Zephyr’s head with two fingers. “And sadly, if we declared to the world that you are marrying him or anything close, then Arad would be in trouble.” She looked at everyone. “While Zephyr is the Queen of the Spirit Queens here, she is also the heir of the elemental plane of wind.”
In reality, Zephyr had one reason why she couldn’t be officially with Arad. If the universe recognized them as such, then Arad, AO, would become the sultan of the air Djinns, and that might buff their wish-granting powers.
It was a whole can of worms, but in short, the Djinns use a flow of positive and negative energy to grant wishes, and if AO became their direct ruler, then the universe might stop imposing rules on wishes, giving them too much power. Unless she knew for certain that she could suppress the djinns, she won’t take such a risk.
Besides, her father wouldn’t leave Arad alone.
“Give up, Ganta.” Kaede sighed in the back. “No one understands what Zephyr wants or plans. She was always like this, the definition of a free spirit unbound by anything. She is like a breeze, goes and does whatever she wants.”
She frowned. “Besides, Mother warned me about her. Zephyr has always been right, so don’t test her. That’s what my mother told me.” She then shifted her gaze to Zephyr, “Is that right?”
Zephyr shrugged. “I’m not always right, but I know more than you, and thus can make better decisions.” She flew and sat on Ganta’s head. “For example, declaring that Yuwaku was indeed my daughter was a mistake, and it caused me to lose the life of another spirit, and a lot of discourse in the Elemental plane of air. I also had my father storm this world.”
“Forget about the political talk. Are we doing it or not?” Lexi stared at them, then pointed at the maids standing around the walls. “They are getting worried as well.” She then looked at Aella. “You go first, then Ganta, then me and Kaede, right?”
Zephyr flew, grew to a human size, and landed on the bed beside Arad. “Well, how about you all go at once. It would help alleviate a bit of Ganta’s stress and Lexi’s shyness.”
“What?!” Lexi gasped, and Zephyr stared at them with a smug smile.
“Aella is pregnant, and she feels bad about going first. She wants you four to go first, but can’t say it since she is the queen here. Ganta, on the other hand, still feels guilty about doing it with Arad. Aella is her friend after all, and if not for putting on a front, she might’ve already run away while apologizing.” She then pointed at Lexi with a grin.
“And you, some of those maids are your childhood friends and acquaintances. I’ve seen you practicing in front of a mirror for hours to not mess up tonight. Look, some of them are going to grill you alive later.” As Lexi blushed and threw a sharp glare at three of the maids standing by the walls, Zephyr burst out laughing.
“And lastly, Arad here can’t seem to figure out how to deal with his many wives, concubines, and everyone else. Would showing too much affection to Lexi hurt Aella’s feelings? Is it unfair? What about the maids, Ganta, and the other wives who aren’t here?” She flew up, shrank, and sat on Arad’s head for a moment. “There aren’t that many solutions to this problem, but I know of one.”
She jumped down, grew into a human size, and landed on Arad’s lap. “In the bedroom, to him, you’re all equal, you’re all wives. The ranking you have is only for setting order and the management of the empire, not for controlling and managing your private life.”
“Stand proud, you’re all his wives, the wives of someone too great that even I can’t describe him.”
