The dragon's harem - Chapter 1845: The Great Serpent of Infinity

Chapter 1845: The Great Serpent of Infinity
Before Shuten could even think, she found herself once again behind Amaterasu’s shield. Arad had teleported her away with Vorvadoss’s magic and was now fighting Susanoo once more. From where she was, she could only see the destruction cause by those two clashing.
Even though she was a Demon Lord, a demon so powerful that it could kill gods, ruin worlds, and cause enough mayhem and destruction to terrorize multiple worlds.
She couldn’t hope to even get close to this fight, let alone help. Looking back, Lunara stood fast, but she was pale. Ibaraki, who was a bit weaker than Shuten herself, was now looking like a scared hen, watching two giant wolves killing each other.
Amaterasu looked fine, and even the old lady wasn’t fazed at all, and only rested by Amaterasu’s side, ignoring the chaos.
In the battle, Arad had to jump away from Susanoo for a moment and heal. Getting Shuten to safety had caused him a grave wound across the chest. It seems that unlike anyone he had faced before, Susanoo was different, and was a far greater swordsman.
^Is this the serpent supreme sword skills, or is it Susanoo’s ingrained mastery?^ Arad dodged a second slash and moved for a counter punch, only to have it dodged and get his arm slashed.
^Probably a mix of both.^ Arad could see the serpent coiled above Susanoo’s head, so he decided to keep an eye on it.
Even though he was taking a lot of damage, Arad remained calm. This was only one of his incarnations, and with Kali’s nearly infinite divine magic, he could heal as much as he wanted. That only left pain, and Arad didn’t care about it.
Susanoo started moving like a demon. He unleashed a barrage of more than a hundred slashes all at once, each and every one of them aimed at a vital point, aiming to take Arad’s life away.
Dodging those slashes was simple in theory, but hard in practice, because Arad knew that more than half of those attacks were aiming to create an opening and not deal real damage. Dodging them was exactly what Susanoo wanted, and Arad didn’t want to give him that.
He shifted his body into pure void, let the attacks slip right through him, and punched Susanoo in the guts with enough force to make him explode into ash, and he shattered the entire area in the process.
“It doesn’t matter how fast or strong you are if all you can do is swing a sword. A perfect sword style doesn’t exist, because it can never be perfect and still be able to adapt to each fight and opponent.” Arad looked at the ashes with a smile.
“Even if your sword style relies on creating openings and exploiting them, it didn’t allow you to reach if those openings backfired at you.” But then, Arad could spot the serpent once more, and it was still coiled in the shape of an infinity symbol.
“It survived?” As Arad asked, the snake gulped and swallowed a bit more of its tail, causing it to grow longer, resulting in its overall length staying the same, but something strange happened afterward.
Susanoo’s entire skeletal body resurrected from the ashes, and this time, it wasn’t a skeleton, but a man of flesh and bones, ashy skin, and dead, empty eyes. His armor and hair reformed, and at the same moment, the snake halo floated to once again rest above his head.
Arad quickly teleported behind him and then blasted him with a full-power energy breath that was strong enough to illuminate the sky like a second sun. This was the same breath Arad used to destroy a planet by drilling into its core, but now… Susanoo stood unscathed.
^Strange…^ Arad thought as Susanoo turned around and swung the Blade of Solace at his head. He dodged, and then the two of them clashed once more for a few seconds, exchanging hundreds of punches and slashes, and causing enough destruction to make it seem as if the world was ending.
^I see… he isn’t durable enough to survive my attacks, but he has a fast enough healing that by the time the attack ends, he would’ve already healed.^ Arad stared at the smiling, dead Susanoo.
^Amaterasu said that the serpent had rapid regeneration, but could it have grown stronger after it mixed with Susanoo’s own divine magic? A supreme version of rapid regeneration… and from that serpent, I got a feeling that I should know what it means.^
Arad flew in, grabbed Susanoo by the face, and punched him away, then, before Susanoo could land, Arad teleported to him with a void step and crushed him to the ground with a single punch.
^A serpent eating its own tail, infinitely eating, and infinitely growing, a perfect cycle of feeding and growth, stimulation and response. That thing represents infinity, the very concept of what does not end.^ He lifted his fist, and Susanoo was perfectly fine.
^The serpent’s power has indeed mixed with Susanoo’s power and evolved. Those sword skills earlier were a result of that, and now, it has granted him an infinite regeneration speed instead of a rapid one.^
Arad dodged a slash and grabbed the serpent on Susanoo’s head, crushing it in his palm. But the serpent instantly reappeared above Susanoo’s head.
^As expected, I did burn the serpent as well earlier with my breath, so I kinda knew this won’t work.^ Arad jumped back, and made sure to watch the serpent closely, and as expected, it gulped once more.
In the next moment, Susanoo’s moves became faster, clearer, and had less time between each of them. Arad tried to dodge them, but it was getting harder and harder, as if the delay between those attacks became nonexistent.
^It doesn’t matter how fast or strong someone was, their muscles, bones, and body have to have a limit somewhere. If, for example, you start rapidly throwing punches, your muscles are bound to run out of oxygen and nutrients faster than the blood can supply them, resulting in them slowing down or stopping.^ Arad grabbed Susanoo by the face, kicked the sword out of his hand, and then blasted him with a void breath, completely erasing and consuming his body.
His goal wasn’t to kill Susanoo, but it was to taste his flesh and see what it was like, and Arad was right. He could taste it in Susanoo’s dusty flesh.
“Infinite stamina regeneration, how amusing.” Arad lifted eight fingers and showed them to the newly regenerated Susanoo.
“As Amaterasu explained earlier, that little snake ate eight sisters, and each of those girls had a powerful ability. Eight holy maidens should be a better description of them.”
He pointed the eight fingers toward Susanoo.
“Those abilities were weak inside them, but when the snake ate and acquired them, they grew stronger. When it ate the last girl and ascended, all of those abilities grew even stronger, and I bet they became even more powerful when you killed and tamed the snake.”
Those abilities had also mixed with Susanoo’s potent divine blood and lineage, as he was Amaterasu’s younger brother; there was no way he could be anything but a true monster among the gods.
“So now, I guess, you got the Infinite Health Regeneration, Infinite Stamina Regeneration, and might’ve already the supreme sword skill… Those are three, leaving five.”
Susanoo flew at Arad, and this time, he moved even faster, attacking with greater aggression, and the serpent had started glowing with power.
But even then, Arad chuckled. “Jack is going to have something interesting. He had been lacking in firepower a lot, and I believe this would suit him.” His body started to glow with a faint blue aura.
Arad grabbed Susanoo by the wrist, slapped him across the face, twisted his arm, elbowed him in the guts, then pushed him against a boulder and went to town, fist after fist, and kick after kick; he left nothing to chance.
With the last punch, Arad sent Susanoo rolling on the ground, and the serpent flashed. But now, Susanoo didn’t heal; instead, he threw up, puking his literal stomach and organs out.
“I faced someone with infinite regeneration before; killing their very cells with the death curse is best.” Ever since Arad realized Susanoo had infinite regeneration, he started bombarding him with deadly radiation, killing all of his cells.
Even if the cells are alive, if their DNA is destroyed, they cannot perform their tasks. You can’t regenerate something that isn’t broken. Of course, unless the power would regenerate Susanoo into a cancerous mass of horrid and helpless flesh.
Gulp!
