The dragon's harem - Chapter 1859: Abel Getting Locked Up

Chapter 1859: Abel Getting Locked Up
The soldiers swarmed the camp, and Abel walked out of one of the carriages carrying the still unconscious woman. The soldiers knew who he was, so no one tried to approach him, except Alcott. “Do you know? I had an old friend to deal with.”
Abel smiled, “You’re talking about that lone wolf? Send him my ways, I’ve got some girls who would love to take care of him instead of you.” Abel then looked back at the countless corpses he left. “I dealt with those, but you’d better start monitoring those who pass through the lands, especially near the capital.”
Alcott scratched the back of his head. “We would’ve done that… but Arad’s policy is not to bother those who are just passing by.”
“If there is a massive caravan, then you probably should. Leaving one or two guys pass unchecked isn’t a problem, but a whole caravan. That could prove to be a problem.” As Abel looked at Alcott, a soldier approached them.
“General Alcott, we’ve found several documents. Those guys are the West River’s traveling caravan of merchants. They’ve been operating in the kingdom of Ruris for over fifteen years. They are legitimate merchants, but…” He looked at the countless people the soldiers were pulling from the hidden cages. “They seem to have some nasty business hidden under the table.”
“So, it won’t have mattered even if we checked them?” Alcott sighed, and the soldier nodded. “In fact, they were checked at the border and called in to the castle a few days ago when they arrived here. Queen Isdis, under Lady Roberta’s advice, had sent an order to register and tax large merchants, especially those who try to exploit the newly growing capital.”
“Isn’t that going against Arad’s policy?” Alcott sighed, and Abel laughed. “Well, he doesn’t have the last say in all matters.”
That was the reality, while Arad is the emperor and the one ruling everything, he doesn’t make rules. He suggests the rules, but his wives, whom he deems to have more experience and better skills in the needed fields, are the ones who refine and write the law.
This was the main reason many nobles sent their daughters to be his maids. One day, if they managed to at least become mistresses, then their word could change the very laws of the entire empire to suit their needs.
Right now, Lexi’s family was already celebrating the fact that their daughter had managed to become a mistress, and the fruits of her labor were already showing for a while. Aella had saved her entire village, granted them land near the capital, and even funds to rebuild their lives and thrive.
Alcott scratched the back of his head. “Well, we are not the Border Patrol nor the Gate Guards. We are the armed forces.” He looked at the soldier. “Send those papers to the Gate Guards, and they’ll handle the rest. We’ll just bury the corpses.”
The soldier nodded, then looked at Abel. “And him… shall we arrest… no, detain him for now?”
“That isn’t a wise idea.” Alcott shook his head, but Abel smiled.
“Why not? I’ll just get her back home, and you can arrest me.” Abel shrugged. “You can’t exactly mask the death of over a hundred people. And my stay would only last a few days in jail at most.”
Alcott threw a sharp glare at Abel, fully sensing that the sneaky bastard had some wicked plan brewing up. “Fine…” Alcott quickly glared at the soldier behind him. “Keep in mind, he is the son of Lord Alina and Queen Sara’s brother.”
An hour later, Abel was thrown into a cell and locked up. He stared at the shackles on his hand and the strangely fancy room he was in and sighed. “So? Is this a noble prison or something? I thought all the cells here were damp and cold dungeons.” He shook his head, “This would kill the vibe…”
Abel then approached the bars of his door and looked up, his eyes searching for a specific someone. “I’m pretty sure she works here…” Soon, he spotted her. An armored woman sitting at the end of the hallway, reading a book with a tired face.
“Ma’am! Ma’am! Do you have a minute?” As he called, she glared at him with an angry face and then put on a smile. They told her he was a very important person, so she couldn’t risk offending him.
“Need something?” She stood, approached the door of his cell, and glared at him.
“Nothing important.” Abel smiled, “I was just a bit curious. That book you’re reading, it is the legend of Xaviin, right?”
She looked back at her table, then sighed. “Yeah, the Lich Xaviin. It’s not an uncommon book.”
“But it’s a bit complicated, with all of the wizardry crap. I read up to half, but couldn’t understand much.” Abel leaned on the door, and she sighed. “He tried to control and rule a city; his plan was a bit stupid though…” She started explaining.
Abel’s plan was working, and after an hour, he was with that jailer knight inside his room, having a passionate and mutual exchange. Abel only spent a single night in jail, but in that time, he had managed to bed two jailers and one prisoner.
When he got released the next morning, the knights apologized for wasting his time, but he instead thanked them, saying that spending a night in jail was an unforgettable and valuable experience.
Back in Arad’s quarter, and by the time the sun rose, Arad opened his eyes, feeling multiple heavy things resting on his massive body; in fact, he couldn’t even breathe properly. Aella, Ganta, Lexi, and Kaede were all asleep over his chest. Zephyr had turned into a humanoid size, and her massive butt was right on his face, and his arms and legs were all covered by the maids.
“Zephyr…” As he mumbled, she opened her eyes, sat up, and then looked between her legs, where she saw his face. “… can you get off me?”
She smiled, “… how about? No. You’re an easy-to-sit-on chair.” She started rubbing her butt on his face, so Arad opened his mouth wide and instantly sucked her into his stomach. It didn’t matter how large she was.
Arad then gently pushed all of his wives and the maids aside, before sitting up and spitting Zephyr back out. She landed on the ground, shrank to her fairy size, and flew at his face. “Come on! Can’t you let me play a bit?”
“You had the entire night.” He sighed and went to wash his face. In the meantime, the room’s door opened, and several maids rushed in. They were the ones supposed to replace the night-shift maids.
“You say that as if I had done anything but sit and watch.” She sighed.
