The dragon's harem - Chapter 1941: Born A Monster

Chapter 1941: Born A Monster
There are two kinds of vampires in the world: those who hate being one and those who thrive on the blood. Those who are humans turned into monsters, and those who are monsters wearing human skin.
Therisa was born a vampire, unlike her parents, who were humans and got turned into vampires later in life. Naturally born vampires like Therisa and Eris are rare, but they all shared one common trait. They all lacked humanity.
To be born a human, and live as one, to be fragile, weak, and hopeless in the face of danger, then get turned into an all-powerful and immortal vampire, that puts many people in an unstable state of mind where they can’t be at peace with their power and deeds. Many of them, and even after they get used to their power and the bloodshed, still hold themselves back and try to maintain a resemblance to who they were before.
While Therisa saw the life here among humans to be too restrictive, stuffy, and unbearable, her mother found it peaceful and blissful. She hated having to hide her vampiric nature and found it stupid to pretend to be weak in front of those she only saw as cattle.
[Eye Bite]
Poppy felt a sudden itch tickling her eyeballs, and she clenched a furious fist. “You little brat! Do you think your puny blood magic would work on me?” She swung her arm and threw a sharp blade of compressed blood toward Therisa.
Therisa saw the blood slash flying right toward her neck, and she only had a fraction of a second to react. If she were a human before, this would’ve been her death, but she was born a vampire and had the reflexes and cruelty of one. Earlier, when she destroyed the door’s wall, her blood had painted the ground red, and now, she used that blood to slide beneath the slash, losing her lips and nose in the process, almost her whole face.
Poppy knew the fight was over; she had just cut the little girl’s face off. There was no way she would keep fighting. But that exactly what happened, Therisa wasn’t even fazed by the wound, and instead flew at Poppy with a bloodied grin.
“It hurt you, brat!” Therisa’s fist smacked Poppy square in the mug and smacked her to the wall with an inhuman level of force. Even Poppy herself wasn’t born a monster, and she couldn’t comprehend the rabid nature of this little girl.
[Poppy, those who turn into monsters are evil and scary, but those who are born monsters are unhinged and relentless. She never had human morals in the first place, and she only sees herself as a tool in Arad’s hands, an extension of his blood.]
^The fuck does that mean?^
[While her mother hated drinking blood and only did it when she needed to. This little girl had been sneaking out to feed on humans ever since she was born. She hunted behind her mother’s back and was already well used to violence. If you focus enough, with your power as a pricolici, I’m certain you can tell that she had drunk blood from almost every human in this alleyway.]
“You aren’t my equal!” Poppy screamed and punched Therisa so hard that her fist blew a hole through her torso and sent chunks of her spine flying everywhere, and with a powerful shockwave, Therisa’s body was sent flying with a stream of blood.
Poppy had come here expecting to find a crying little girl, a hopeless lamb ready for slaughter, but instead she found a mad dog, crazed for blood and violence. She spat blood out as Therisa’s punch had cut her lips, and then glared forward with a smirk.
“This should put you back where you belong, little girl.” She glared at Therisa, who was two houses away, bleeding profusely from her torn chest. Her little heart had already been torn to pieces, and the chunks were stuck on the walls. She wasn’t a vampire, and if she wasn’t drinking so much blood behind her mother’s back, she would’ve been long since dead.
“We… vampires… are born to serve our lord.” She coughed blood, and giggled.
Poppy stared at her and started walking toward her. “Yeah, me and your Blood Lord are the same kind of creature. Serving me should be just as good, won’t it?”
“Like how the blood cells sacrifice their life and existence to clot wounds and save the body, we vampires are living for our Lord, and we should sacrifice our lives for him, to be a part of his great being.” Therisa mumbled as she tried to regenerate, and Poppy glared at her with a furious face.
“Why serve a Lord like that? It doesn’t matter who the slaver is; you’ll always be a slave destined to die and suffer. It doesn’t matter if Arad is your lord, or if it’s me.” Poppy looked at Therisa’s wounds from afar, determining that the girl’s regeneration isn’t powerful enough to save her life.
“I’m but a single drop of his blood, not your blood. I shall only bleed for him, and I’ll dedicate my life, soul, body, and will to him… with this blood and life of mine, I’m here to exert his will…”
The air felt cold, the blood’s smell grew stronger, and something in the back of Poppy’s head tingled. She doesn’t like the look on the little girl’s face. That face, which was still torn off, bleeding rivers, was smiling in the face of death.
It pissed her off. She had spent decades of her life trying to cure herself of vampirism and regain a normal life, but in the end, she had turned into an even uglier monster… so why is this girl so happy. Why is she living a blessed life as a slave to a horrid Blood Lord?
[Poppy, Run!] Cain warned her, but she didn’t listen. He couldn’t just teleport her away to influence her thoughts too much since Yog might pick up on his existence, so he was nothing more than a voice whispering in her ears, and his words came from one ear and exited out of the other.
“Did your mother fail you this much? She looked like a decent woman to me. I can’t believe that she couldn’t even teach her daughter that being a slave to a bloodthirsty monster is a bad thing.” Poppy glared at the little girl with a raging face. “You had help and support all of your life, you could’ve run away and lived a normal life, yet you threw all of that away to be a monster? This curse of blood that everyone wants to get rid of, and you embrace it?”
“My blood, your blood, all blood, shall be a sacrifice to My Blood Lord, to Our Blood Lord!” Therisa’s eyes flashed red as all blood drained from her body. “I’ll die first, good luck… brat.”
From Therisa’s still hot blood, Arad emerged in a furious fit of rage. Unlike her mother, who failed, Therisa had succeeded. Through her blood and life, Therisa had summoned Arad to her location.
