The dragon's harem - Chapter 2024: Demonic Business

When Han gasped back to his senses in the recovery room, and the first thing he could see was his wife, the referee, sitting beside his bed. “The blade!” He cried and immediately glared at his hand. “What did happen? How many died?”
She looked at him with a smile. “Calm down, no one died. Arad and a little girl managed to deal with the demonic sword.” She then explained what had happened, how the demonic blade’s strongest attack failed to even nick Arad’s neck, and how Kali broke and ate the sword like it was nothing.
“But… that demonic sword is indestructible! Generations over generations of Grandmasters and Elders, all of their efforts and power, yet no one could find a way to destroy it.” Han knew about the demonic sword more than anyone else and was too familiar with its power.
It was because of that knowledge that he hated the title of the Master of Demonic Blade, since that title was fundamentally wrong. Han wasn’t the master of the blade, but a prison, a seal that was supposed to keep the blade’s power and thirst for blood in check.
It was like a curse passed through generations from his grandfathers all the way to him, and in the future, when he grows old and frail, unable to sustain the demonic blade any longer, he was supposed to pass it down to his future, young, and powerful son to carry on the duty.
His father-in-law’s refusal to approve of him as a son-in-law was because of that blade, of that curse. Yet… that blade, that accursed relic, is now gone?
“How… that blade cannot be…” He tried to sense the blade’s location, and didn’t get anything. There was nothing left, not a single trace of demonic power, just empty nothingness. Even his body had now been fully cleansed of the demonic power, and it felt lighter than ever before.
“It is gone, really gone. The blade, the curse, and all of its foul demonic power.” He gasped and then jumped out of bed, feeling his body’s strength rapidly increasing. “With that weight off my shoulders… I feel like I can do anything.”
“You better sit back down, brat.” His father-in-law kicked the door open and glared at him. “That demonic blade is gone, but… that little girl who ate it is an even bigger demon. I’m certain that she only used as much power as she needed to break the blade, and still got far more to spare.”
Han gulped. “How strong are we talking about exactly?”
“To break that cursed blade, she used as much power as six of Bloody Rose would have. She is a literal nightmarish horror.” He frowned and glared right up. “Now, she is in the VIP room. I only wish that Bloody Rose had a good explanation for that.”
“That little demonic girl came with Arad. Is he also a demon?” Han asked with a terrified and worried face, but his father-in-law shook his head. “I doubt it. From what I could sniff around, that little girl is one of his wives; he has many of them.” He scratched his chin. “Shapeshifting, I bet that little girl has a terrifying and ugly demonic face; that cute face is just a façade.”
It was then that the door opened up, and a gaunt man who looked in his early forties walked in. He had long, silky hair that was tied into a ponytail, wore an aloha shirt, shorts, and sandals, looking like he was just relaxing on the beach.
“Who just called my daughter ugly?” Kayden growled, and when Han’s father-in-law replied with a snarl, Kayden punched him to the wall, knocking him out. “You bark a lot, mutt.”
“Father!” The referee cried, and Han immediately jumped at Kayden with a clenched fist. Sadly, Kayden grabbed his fist with ease and glared at him right in the eyes as his extra two pairs of demonic eyes opened up.
“Feral dogs are the worst.” He smacked Han on the ground and then gave the referee a glare. She started sweating, but jumped at him with a clenched fist as well, only to end up smacked to the wall like the other two.
“Kayden… why did you rush ahead?” Lily, his wife, opened the door and walked in, only to find the three bleeding. The Father-in-law had a dent on his face, and his head was drilled into the wall. Han himself was bleeding at the corner of the room, and the referee was only bed, gasping for air with one of her breasts dented inward.
“KAYDEN! What have you done!” She rushed to check on them, starting with the referee. But before she could reach them, Kayden pulled her away. “Don’t get too close to wild dogs. They’ll bite you, so it’s better to treat them like wolves until they are trained.”
Lily tried to run, but Kayde had her lifted up so her legs couldn’t touch the ground. “Huh?” She turned and glared back at him again. “Wait! Did they get you riled up?” Then with a single slap of her hand, she stuck a talisman to his forehead. “Just take a seat and relax a bit, those are people, not wild dogs.”
Kayden blinked a few times, looked around, and saw three people at the brink of death. “Oh, I should probably heal them.” He lifted one finger, and Lily immediately kicked him in the stomach. “Don’t! And put me down! They’ll turn into demons if you use your blood.”
Half an hour had passed, and when Han regained consciousness, he was on the bed, with his wife and father-in-law beside him. Kayden and Lily were sitting nearby, “Hey, you. You’re finally awake.”
Han rubbed his face. “What did happen?” He could barely remember anything, and his entire body hurt. “Wait, that wasn’t a dream!” He cried as he remembered Kayden smacking him and his father-in-law, and luckily, he couldn’t remember him punching the referee’s chest into her lungs.
“You’d better watch your tongue if you don’t want me to do it again. I was asked by my daughter to train you, since you’ve got talent for demonic arts.” Kayden pointed at him, “That body of yours had marinated in demonic magic for decades and had gained both a resistance and aptitude for it.”
“I see… that little girl who ate the demonic sword is your daughter… so…” He threw a glance at Lily, her massive body, red skin, and sharp horns. “You both are demons?”
“I’m a blood Oni, a pure-blooded demon.” She pointed at herself, “Well, I was a human before, so that’s that.”
“Kayden, just a demon. A witch turned me into a demon in the past, like some five thousand years ago.” He glared at Han and opened his six demonic eyes. “So? Want to remain a human and master the demonic arts, or become a demon and push the limits of what you can achieve? The choice is yours.”
“Ah…” Lily waved a hand. “Kayden here sees anyone far weaker than him as a dog, and usually treats them as such. I can treat him with those talisman…” She pointed at the one stuck to Kayden’s forehead. “But, if he starts seeing you as pups while I’m not around, just bark, and that would get him to notice that something is wrong.”
“You look like dogs, and sound like dogs when you talk. So, when you bark, those dogs start trying to talk like human, and that tells me that something is off.” Kayden shrugged.
Han took a deep breath and then asked. “How much weaker are we talking about? If he saw me as a dog.”
Lily answered with a smile, “A quarter of his power seems to be the threshold, and… just to warn you, he is called the Absolute Demon of Destruction, and even got the title of God Slayer.”
Han chuckled, “Well, those are some scary titles.” But… he had no idea what any of those two meant, and if he knew, he would’ve chosen death over getting anywhere near Kayden.
Kayden had killed many gods, and even now, sees most of them as mere dogs, not even worth his time. In power, he rivals Cain without the overgod power, and can even single-handedly deal with Nyar’s avatars.
With a single swing, Kayden could literally split this entire world in half, and that wouldn’t even be him going all out.
Kayden then extended his hand, and blood started frothing out of his palm. “My daughter broke your sword, and even if that thing was a deadly parasite, I’m obliged to compensate you.” He looked at him. “What kind of sword do you use?”
Han hesitated for a second, but then replied. “A Dao…”
Kayden blinked several times. “The fuck is that? Well, this should do.” Kayden’s blood solidified into a war odachi. “Try it.”
“This…” As Han held the blade, he could feel the rush of the demonic power in it, but without any will, trying to overwrite his own. “How…”
“I made it. It is alive, but has no will or consciousness. It feeds off your magic and transforms it into demonic power. You can empower it by either growing stronger yourself, feeding it souls by killing anything, or preferably, slaying demons.”
“No… I mean, this sword is stronger than the demonic blade.” He gasped, and Kayden tilted his head. “Of course it is. I made it.”
