The First Legendary Beast Master - Chapter 1594 Oathbreaker

Chapter 1594 Oathbreaker
Karl’s team wouldn’t be the only one with a tank that had damage reduction, but it was only really a focus for the Druids who used Bear Form or other transformations to fight.
Curiously, Min, who had advanced to a Forest Stalker Druid with a spectral cat form, was taking much less damage than everyone else.
Her form must negate some extra damage on top of what Karl shared.
Technically, Rae was in a spectral form at this point as well, trying to get an edge on the Oathbreaker. But it didn’t seem to make any difference. The damage spread hadn’t changed, even though she was a bit faster than without the buff.
Warbeast had given her extra armour as well, and Rae was in her full glory fighting something so incredibly Stabby.
Opal was not.
That damnable demon kept destroying every attempt at creating a proper Illusionary Domain. The spreading damage simply shattered the spell every few seconds.
It seemed illogical, but the agility type demon was actually a hard counter to illusions.
Cara was thoroughly enjoying the fight. Oathbreaker was happy to try to crush her with the long claws on his feet, and she was happy to try to tickle him.
With [Chaos Vortex] to the bottom of his feet, naturally.
The Demon was showing signs of heavy damage now, and he wouldn’t last much longer. But it didn’t care. It had found the fight that it wanted against Rae, and the concept of [Offensive Adaptation], which had now evolved to
[Predation], was the greatest skill that the demon had ever seen.
If only it could have that skill.
The more it damaged, the more it would do, and it damaged everything, all the time. What better combination could there be?
The group’s healers whistled, and Min stopped her attacks.
“Fine. I will join in. Heals incoming. This is insane, one [Mana Pylon] isn’t going to be enough to keep us going forever.” The warehouse clerk complained.
Unfortunately, the Pylons wouldn’t stack their effect.
Tian hopped up on her back and began to add his own healing to the fray while he played his zither for inspiration.
Karl was definitely getting him more bard class skills after this trip.
The little fox had given up on [Vicious Mockery] for this fight. What could he even criticize? Besides, he didn’t want to get stabbed.
He was small and fluffy, not armoured.
Slowly, even Tian and Min’s mana began to run low, but Oathbreaker was down two arms now, and clearly on his last breath.
He still didn’t slow down.
The boss fought as hard at the end of the fight as he had at the start, and simply collapsed from blood loss at the end.

“Winning! Hey, why are we the first to beat him? Didn’t everyone else start earlier? Does that mean none of them have finished the fight?” Leo asked.
“Do you think that any of the other groups could actually beat that boss?” Dana asked.
Leo shrugged. He hadn’t seen many other people fight, so it didn’t seem unreasonable that most of them would have someone at least as powerful as Karl or Dana.
All they had to do was block most of the attacks, right?
That didn’t seem too hard if you were a superfast type like Dana or Rae.
He definitely couldn’t do it.
“Alright, we need a second dinner. This dungeon is insane.” Swag complained. “I’m with you on that one. Take a break, we’ve earned it. That’s two first kills for us, so we’re for sure ahead of most of the groups.
However, I think that they went the other way around.
Instead of starting with the Plague Demon and going to Oathbreaker, they started with the other three bosses.” Karl explained.
Hawk nodded. [The other three aren’t special bosses. They’re just big Wrath Demons, but not on the level of Carnage or Oathbreaker.]
Dana frowned at the description.
“Hawk, are you saying that the last boss, the one furthest from us, is the
weakest?” She asked.
Hawk landed next to her and bobbed his head in agreement.
[Yep, that’s right. This dungeon is kind, it gets easier as we go.]
He was just happy that the stupid Oathbreaker fight was over. He’d never taken
as much damage as he did whenever they fought one of those things.
Min facepalmed. “We did the dungeon backward.”
Cara transformed back into a humanoid and shrugged. “Or, we did it the right way. We’ve got the hard ones out of the way before we got exhausted. Now, the battles will only get easier as we get more tired.”
Min thought about that as she gently stroked the fur on Tian’s head.
“You know, the badger is right. We did do it the right way. I wonder how many groups got to Oathbreaker, exhausted and battered from three boss fights, and
simply gave up?”
“And why did the demon seem to remember having fought here before? That’s not normal for a dungeon boss, is it?” Burt asked.
Karl shook his head. “It’s not normal. But we’ve encountered that demon
before. Either it’s clones of one specific demon, or the species shares memories. They always seem to remember things they shouldn’t.”
“That’s a bit terrifying”
Cara laughed. “If you think that’s terrifying, think about coming back here
tomorrow and having him greet you by name.”
The Rogue shuddered. “Thanks for that. I really didn’t need that mental image.”
“You’re welcome.”
Opal set out a whole spread of food, and created an Illusionary Domain to form
a picnic spot, complete with tables and umbrellas to protect from the nonexistent sun.
The dungeon’s sky was hazy with ash that never fell, and the sun was just a
faint red glow in the distance.
“So, do we clear everything one boss ahead of ourselves again, and let it come
to us, or are we going to fight it in location?” Swag asked after picking a selection of sandwiches.
“I think that we should clear all the trash mobs we can and see what happens.”
Cara voted.
Swag nodded. “That makes sense. Nobody else tries it that way, so we might find something new if we do it.”
Burt stared at him in pure awe of the level of stupidity on display. Obviously,
the badger was just trying to cause chaos and see if they could pull multiple
bosses at the same time.
That wasn’t logic you were supposed to agree with.
