The First Legendary Beast Master - Chapter 1596 Who Changed It?

Chapter 1596 Who Changed It?
That was the moment that three other groups staggered out of the dungeon. “Fuck, that isn’t possible. Halfway through the third boss, the difficulty changed, and that bastard thing started to regenerate. This dungeon is bullshit. Who fucked up the difficulty setting?” An irate young Rogue demanded.
“We have no idea. Where did you make it to?” The berserker asked.
“We entered in the second batch, so we were on the third boss when it changed.”
The leader of one of the other groups who had just escaped shook his head. “We were on the fourth boss, the Oathbreaker.
The dungeon difficulty changed, and we took a full party wipe. We didn’t even get the healer out safely. He had a lifesaving token that respawned him at the entrance, and he resurrected the rest of us.”
The Immortals nodded. That was common enough. Most Immortals would look for something to save their lives in a situation like that.
The third group laughed. “We were only just started. It changed while we were prepping for the first boss. We took it out, but half our gear is busted.
On the plus side, we downed one of the nightmare mode bosses, and holy hell is the loot good.
Just… don’t go in unprepared. Everything is a boss. They’re all Epic Grade monsters, and the bosses are a full stage higher than your group. If you send a group of Peak Immortals in there, you’ll likely face a Supreme Ranked boss. Who is still in there?”
“One group from the Almeixei Sect, and one from the New Home Merchant Clan. Both are Immortal Spirit ranked groups.”
“So, they’re looking at either Void Stage or low Ascended bosses. That’s going to be gnarly, Almeixei might manage it. But who is in there from the New Home?”
The spectators laughed. “A bunch of newbies and New Home’s resident comedy relief.”
“And you let them go?” He asked the berserker.
“They buffed the Assassin, it was a good fight.” He replied with a shrug.
“You know they’re almost certainly dead, right?”
The Assassin shook his head. “No, I tagged them with my tracking skill. They’re all still alive.”
“So, they’re not dead. Is anyone missing a group?”
Two Ascended Immortals raised their hands. “Our Sects both have groups in there that we haven’t heard from. Like the others, we sent the juniors in for the first chance while we waited to form a group.”
There was a moment of silence, then a System Notice was broadcast to the whole region.
{First Clear Accomplished}
Four vortexes of magic formed outside the dungeon portal, and Immortals began to drop out of them.
They all looked horrified and confused, and they all had horrific injuries on them. The white dragons acted fast, casting area healing to rescue whoever had just left the trial.
“We’re not dead?” One of the new arrivals asked in a dazed slur.
“What happened?”
“Oathbreaker happened. He one-shotted the whole group. Then, we were here, outside the dungeon.”
“A trial ejection? It must be.” The Assassin pondered.
“It seems so. A whole team dying in a dungeon usually means even your bodies are lost. But a Trial will eject you on the brink of death.” The berserker agreed.
“So, are we getting a group to go in and check?”
The berserker smiled and wrapped an arm around the assassin. “Give it a few minutes to see if your minions come back out. I want those buffs for when we
go in.”
Then, the Almeixei Sect’s group came out with frustrated frowns.
“Harder than you thought?” The berserker asked, assuming that they were the ones to finish the dungeon.
They were the first to enter.
“That place is bullshit. We skipped the fourth boss because everything turned into minor bosses. The loot was insane, but we had to kill thirty boss tier trash mobs three at a time to get it.
Fuck that place.
There’s still an Oathbreaker and a Greater Plague Lord that we didn’t touch in there.
Even if we brought a hundred Immortals, we couldn’t kill that thing. Whatever God designed this trial is one sadistic Sonofabitch.”
Divine laughter rumbled through the clouds, and the warrior flinched.
“Well, at least now we know that it wasn’t accidental. I don’t know what
triggered it yet, but it looks like it will eject you on the brink of death if you fail. Now, we’re just waiting for the New Home newbies to come out.
You don’t think that they’re taking a break between every pull, are they?” One of the Immortals asked.
“I don’t think so. It just told us that someone had finished the trial. If it wasn’t Almeixei, it has to be the New Home group. They’re the only ones still in there, unless someone arrived before them and snuck in.”
“That’s possible. Did you send a special team in?” The Almeixei team leader
asked.
“Oh, special is a good word for them. Very special” The berserker agreed.
The Almeixei team leader sighed at the heavy sarcasm. “I should have expected nothing less out of the New Home. But somehow, it looks like they actually cleared the dungeon. Now, we just have to wait for them to come back out.” The Assassin frowned. That was a good point. If they finished the dungeon, they should be back out by now. Even if they stopped to sort and trade loot, the dungeon usually kicked you out a minute or two after you finished the run. He activated his tracking skill again, and shook his head in dismay.
“Uh, they ran away.
I just tracked them, and they’re back in the Clan Compound. I think that one of them has the ability to open portals from inside a dungeon.”
“Seriously? Dammit, now how do we find out what the upgraded boss loot is like?” The berserker complained.
“We can just go in ourselves. We’ve got enough near peak Immortals now. We might as well just go do the trial. Let the children go home and sort out their trinkets while we get the good stuff.”
The group leaders shrugged. “That works for us. The rest of the newbie groups can go in as they want. It’s a trial, not a dungeon, they will come back out alive
one way or another.”
