The First Legendary Beast Master - Chapter 1616 Thor Can't Hold His Liquor

Chapter 1616 Thor Can’t Hold His Liquor
The dinner quickly turned into a party as the residents of the Tiny world decided that Nachtia’s advancement was no something that they could gloss over, hoping to get Karl to do the Karl type things faster.
He would get to them, even if he did it in the morning.
“Our first Cleric to Mythic Rank. Congratulations Nachtia!” Ophelia cheered, getting the party mood started.
Karl cheered and took out both bottles of the wine he had purchased from the Clan.
This was a wonderful moment to test it out, as he hadn’t tried it since he had purchased it. He had tried the one flavour before buying, but the other was entirely unknown.
“Ladies, this is a local specialty of the New Home Clan. I hope that you enjoy it, I haven’t had a chance to properly taste it yet.”
It was only a single small cup per person, and a lot of whining by Button about being excluded from the liquor, but everyone toasted to the event, and sipped at the Immortal Rank wine.
It contained a huge amount of energy, even the version that was made by the apprentices of the Monks’ winery.
Enough that Karl could feel Thor’s power surging at the bottleneck.
He had been holding back, but with the change in both his space and the Tiny World, it had only taken a single trigger to push him past the bottleneck.
That was most likely the result of [Limitless], an old skill from the Packmaster Class. At the time, it hadn’t been a big deal, he had only taken it to get what came after.
But now that Thor and Opal had both had the [Evolution] skill used on them, it was showing its might.
[Limitless] Passive Skill. Beasts Evolved by the Packmaster have an increased chance of surpassing milestones in development.
And now Thor had done exactly that.
Only, Karl had not planned for this. He hadn’t expected a bit of wine to have that much of a growth effect on the Behemoth.
[That’s not what happened.] Cara laughed.
Thor had been repressing his growth so that he could stay closer to Tessa while she was expecting, but he was a complete and irredeemable lightweight when it came to alcohol, and one glass of strong wine in human form was enough to loosen his grip on his mana pool.
That let the Immortal Energy from his space flood him, driving out the old mortal energy, and forcing him up to the next Rank.
And now, there was a storm brewing in the Tiny World.
{Well, what do you know, I could have advanced here instead of blowing up Azov’s mountain.} Remi noted.
Nachtia laughed. “I don’t think that you’re supposed to want to advance in a hidden realm.
It might cause others to notice the Tiny World, and the strongest one here is Karl, who can’t defend it if someone at the Supreme Rank decides that they want to see what is going on.”
Remi shrugged. {We’re still in the house in the Clan Compound. If anything, they’ll think that we’re doing something weird with Tribulation Lightning in our rooms.}
Thor grumbled as he transformed into Behemoth form and jogged off into the plains, where there was nothing around but open grassland and no valuable plants.
Drinking was dangerous.
Nachtia cheered him on as the lumbering behemoth covered more ground in a single step than she could cover with a flap of her prodigious wings.
Thor was rarely in his full behemoth form, but he was absolutely enormous, nearly two hundred metres if you counted his tail, and he was still growing as he began to advance.
“Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to step on your party.” Karl whispered to the black dragon.
“Look at it this way, now we share a birthday, me and Thor. We’ve both advanced at the same time, and you didn’t even have to do anything drastic, just get him a bit drunk so that he stopped holding himself back.
I don’t even think that he was doing it deliberately, he just didn’t want to be separated from his Tessa.”
Karl winked at her. “See, those herd instincts are strong.”
“Just wait. Not more than a year, and I will have fully adapted to Mythic and I will be ready to advance as well. I have the knowledge that I need, it is only a matter of physical development.”
[Hey Thor, since you’re advancing on the same day, you get to share an advancement birthday with Nachtia now. Take good care of your Herd members, and soon you’ll have a whole bunch of Immortals to look after.] Karl joked, hoping to relax Thor before the first bolts of Tribulation lightning hit. The storm was definitely brewing, which Karl didn’t think was actually possible within a separate space like this.
But he could also feel divine attention on them, so clearly they were not so well hidden that the Gods did not notice a Behemoth reaching Immortality.
Thor thought about moving to his space, as that had been the key to advancing without causing a scene for the others. But Karl knew that it was a lost cause. By the time that they noticed the clouds forming for the Tribulation, it was already too late.
The bottleneck had been broken, and the outcome was inevitable. If he tried to leave now, the best-case outcome was that he would be crippled as an Immortal, missing out on the essential energy for his transformation.
Thor settled in around the middle of the grasslands, just in time for the first lightning strike to impact his body.
The energy crackled over his scales, but Thor had [Eternal Lightning] and [Bulwark] both active on himself, with all the damage reduction of a Behemoth.
[Behemoth’s Vitality] Triples Regeneration Speed
[Impenetrable Bulwark] Reduces damage taken by 20 Percent plus 1 point per day of the Behemoth’s Age.
[Limited Invulnerability] the target ignores all attacks under ten percent of its total health, and an equivalent amount of all attacks stronger than ten percent
of its total health.
Between the three skills, his innate Lightning Resistance, as an evolved Lightning Cerro, and the gear that Thor was wearing, he hardly took any
damage from the Tribulation Lightning at all.
Two strikes hit at once, then three, four and five.
All without Thor’s Eternal Lightning even showing any signs of faltering.
