Then he licked his lips and said, “In that case, I should eat what I purchased before it spoils. It can’t spoil after I paid millions for it.”

He said this as he went to the door. Once he reached the door, he opened it, grabbed Lance, and dragged her body into his room.

No one saw him do this because all of his guards had been sent away. This is also why no one was alarmed that Lance died. After all, no one noticed that she died.

This was a good thing because his internal energy was doing this in order to increase in quality. It is a necessary step in advancing to rank 4.

Another necessary step was the change to his energy well. All five energy chambers grew thicker and became stronger as his internal energy continued to riot. This made his energy chambers capable of holding energy of higher density without bursting.

All of these increases to the quality and density of his internal energy also affected his Energy Nexus. After all, it is normal for his Energy Nexus to reflect the changes going on in his energy chamber.

This time, since the energy well was advancing, the Energy Nexus was also advancing. The increase in the quality of energy caused it to become stronger, but it also caused the Energy Nexus to grow some tentacles in this same way that his energy well had grown the energy threads when he advanced to rank 3.

This copy of himself was tiny and see-through like a hologram. It stood still at the center of the Energy Nexus with its eye closed. As all of his life experiences were copied into the Energy Nexus, this small, tiny hologram became clearer and clearer.

Even the memories of his past life and memories of his childhood that he had forgotten were copied. No memory was spared, and everything became perfectly clear to him.

Everything that made him who he was distilled into a tangible form in the Energy Nexus. This transformed the Energy Nexus into the Mind Palace. But it also changed him.

Every event that had ever taken place in his life kept flashing through his mind over and over again. It was as if they just happened to him, not that they had happened a long time ago and that he had forgotten about them.

He kept reliving every little thing that had ever happened to him. What’s worse is that the emotions he felt during those events became much clearer, too.

This wasn’t a bad thing for pleasant experiences. But the clearer sensations of unpleasant events made those events hurt him again. Like that time when Muni tortured them during the initiation program.

During that unfortunate event, he had tried to avoid the pain and other discomfort by taking his mind off the situation. But he couldn’t do that now. Everything was too clear and too raw.

Nothing could distract him from what he was feeling as Muni peeled the skin from his body. The sensation of his skin being separated from his body was as loud as a scream in his ears. It was as if his nerve endings were screaming at him.
