The commander also realized that he had to mobilize all of his troops if he was to have any hope of stopping Amelia. But this was going to be too slow to catch up to the speed at which Amelia was taking down cities.

There was just no way for him to keep up after Amelia had been spending the last nine years preparing for this shock campaign. So instead of asking every warrior from all over the battlefield to rush to the front lines, he asked them to fall back and congregate in one city that would serve as their bulwark.

He made this decision to give up on holding cities in favor of preserving the lives of his soldiers. The city he picked as the bulwark is also one that stands directly in the way of Loki’s inland trip, so this move will also put a stop to the incursion into their territory.

This was a good plan except for a little detail. This detail was that he had underestimated Loki’s speed of taking cities.

Loki was taking down cities faster than he expected, so the city he picked for the bulwark would be hit before his soldiers had completed their mobilization and reinforced the city.

So he had to pick one of two options. He had to move the bulwark city backwards or do something that would slow down Loki now.

Moving the bulwark city will grant his soldiers more time to congregate, but it will also give Amelia more time to jump around, cause more damage, and react to his move.

As for the second option, if successful, he might be able to put an end to Loki’s trip once and for all. This will slow down Amelia’s shock campaign or even cripple her.

The problem with this second option is that he doesn’t have the manpower to stop Loki. He already placed his best people around City A to stem any advancement from Amelia. That has clearly failed, and those strong rank 4 warriors are dead now.

If those three rank 4 warriors were around, maybe they would be able stop Loki by ganging up on him. Now that they were gone, he only had one person to use.

After thinking about his options, the commander of the Martial Body Sect decided to use both options. He changed the location where everyone should meet up and sent orders to make the changes known. Then he prepared to go and stop Loki himself.

He is the strongest warrior in this small world, so he is the best chance of stopping Loki. However, he is not going alone. He is taking some other rank 4 warriors with him to make the fight easier.

But before leaving, he had some preparations to make. He called some people to tell them about his plans, so that the army won’t fall apart in his absence. He also sent word to the sect asking for more reinforcements.

Many of his subordinates protested his plan to go and stop Loki himself. But he had made up his mind, and no one could stop him since he was the strongest.

After making his plans, he set off with two of the other strongest. Each of these two is as strong as the ones that he used to stop Amelia’s expansion. Both of them are rank 4 warriors at the peak of rank 4 and with grade 4 Dao Status. But he did something to make them stronger.

He had them replace their rank 4 Metacs with rank 5 Metacs. This would surely make them much stronger than they were. But it would cut short how long they can fight.

Rank 5 Metacs consume 10 times as much energy to use compared to rank 4 Metacs. Each rank 5 Metac consumes around 100,000 units of energy per minute, whereas rank 4 Metacs consume about 10,000 units of energy per minute.

A peak stage rank 4 cultivator with a talent capacity of 90 units, which is the maximum for a human, will have an energy density of level 16, so they will have a total energy capacity of 2^15 × 90, which is 2,949,120 units of energy.

So, if they use four rank 5 Metacs, which will consume 400,000 units of energy per minute, they won’t be able to last more than 7 minutes of fighting together with the energy that will be consumed by their Core Metac and Life Ability.

Their energy regeneration during those 7 minutes of fighting might be able to extend the fight by another minute, but this will still be too short a time to reliably take down someone like Loki.

Fortunately, there are three of them working together to bring Loki down, and their leader has grade 5 Dao Status. The advantage of numbers and someone with Grade 5 Dao Status filled them with confidence for what they were about to do.

On the other side, Amelia was monitoring the situation on the battlefield. She was doing this inside one of the cabins of a large armored and heavily gunned battleship.

In the cabin, she was standing in front of a projection of the battlefield. This projection was created by the token in her hand. It is one of the privileges of being the commander of this small world.

The movement of her troops was being updated in real time on the map without the need for any external input of information. But the movement of their enemies still needed information from her soldiers to keep track of.

The map doesn’t tell her what exactly is going on the battlefield, though. For example, she can tell when her troops confront the enemy, but she won’t be able to tell if they are fighting or how well the fight is going. All that she can tell is that some of her men are dying.

This is why it is also important for her men to update her with information about their situation. Fortunately, they are doing that and updating her nearly every five minutes.
