Chapter 269: It Is Coming.

Slav went up to the three rocks and examined them one by one. He did that over and over again several times in a row. So it was clear that he couldn’t find whatever it was that he was looking for from the rocks.

This sight made Skarg panic a little bit. He was worried that Slv wouldn’t be able to make the right choice and would doom them.

But Slav wasn’t worried. He was only a little bit confused.

He was confused because, after using the Fortune Seeker for so long, no rock stood out to him. It was something else that stood out to him.

Since he trusted his guts, so to speak, he decided to go along with what he could sense. So he went over to the drawings on the wall and put his hand on the mark of a hand that had been placed in a hidden corner.

When he did that, nothing happened. But he continued to maintain the posture for several more seconds.

Skarg thought that something had gone wrong, so he was surprised when the wall cracked and broke down to reveal a tunnel behind it.

His eyes widened, and his mouth became agape in surprise when he saw this tunnel. Then he said in realization, “So that’s how it was. It was all a trap. The instructions were a trap. Only a true luck cultivator would be able to spot the danger and avoid it.”

Slav nodded in agreement and said, “All of the rocks felt wrong. So I decided to do the only good thing that I could do in this situation.”

Skarg went over and clapped Slav on the back as he said, “Good boy. You are my lucky star.”

Slav was overwhelmed by the praise from his father and puffed up his chest in pride. But he said with modesty, “It wasn’t that difficult. I was just doing what felt good.”

Skarg shook his head and said, “If it were easy, everyone would be able to do it. So you have done very well.”

“But for now, let’s see where this tunnel leads to. You go first and lead the way.”

Slav nodded in understanding before walking to the tunnel. When he didn’t sense any misfortune awaiting him, he went into the tunnel. Skarg and the three remaining human puppets followed behind him.

The five of them went in a straight line through the tunnel, but the tunnel itself wasn’t straight. The tunnel curved and twisted several times, and the fact that they appeared to be going uphill made the trek a little bit more difficult.

After reaching a certain spot, Slav made them stop and wait. There was still more to go through the tunnel, and they hadn’t reached the end, so Skarg was worried when Slav asked them to do this. But when Slav said that he felt that it was a good idea to stop here, Skarg immediately put aside all of his worries.

They waited in that spot for more than ten minutes before there were any changes. And when the change did happen, it was too fast to keep track of.

One moment, they were in a cramped and dark tunnel. The next moment, the whole world twisted around them, and the tunnel faded away instantly. Then a magnificent new world was revealed to them.

This new world was bright and dazzling to the eyes. This was because the whole world seemed to be made of glass and mirrors.

The glass and mirrors were also cracked. So the way that light bounced around in the world was erratic, which made the world extra dazzling to the eyes.

There was also a shining star above this world. The shiny star was golden and looked like it was made out of burning golden flames.

This sight mesmerized the two of them. The human puppets were not impressed, though. Their gazes were as dull as ever, and they continued to look straight ahead without any change in their expression.

So it was only the two people with free will who were impressed with this sight. Skarg, in particular, was very excited.

His eyes were full of excitement as he said, “So it is truly the cave heaven of a divine being. It was all real. It is real.”

The possible loot that he could gain from this world flashed through his mind and nearly overwhelmed him with excitement. The rewards that he hadn’t even received yet or knew what they were also made him glance around warily to make sure that the situation was safe.

He wanted to eliminate competitors and saboteurs so that nothing would interfere with the benefits of this cave heaven. But when he looked around, he realized that the only variable was his son.

Since it was his own son and the one he doted on the most, he put away the thought of killing Slav to silence him. He said to himself, “He is family, so it is fine. Besides, I might still need him for some things.”

Then he looked around and said, “Speaking of which, which direction should we go, and what should we do?”

So he said to Slav, “Do you know what we should do now?”

He said, “Is there something special about the star in the sky?”

Slav replied, saying, “It is the most special.”

Skarg asked in confusion, “What’s special about it?”

Slav said, “It is coming.”
