THE GOD EATER - Chapter 270: Lack Of Memories.

Chapter 270: Lack Of Memories.
Just as he said that, the star began to move. Its position was lowered as it descended from the sky.
It didn’t descend in a slow, graceful manner, though. It came smashing down like a meteor, which scared Skarg.
Skarg’s scalp began to tingle with danger. He wanted to run, but he realized that an invisible force was fixing him in place.
He also discovered that none of the human puppets could move. So not only was he unable to move, but even his slaves couldn’t move him. So he was completely helpless in the face of the descent of the star.
Only Slav appeared to be able to move. But Slav didn’t try to run. Slav only raised his hands to the sky with a look of confusion in his eyes.
This was the same kind of confusion that he experienced earlier in the test of the three rocks. The rules were saying something, but his guts were telling him something else.
Just like last time, he decided to follow what he was feeling. So instead of running, he stood still and waited for the star to descend on them.
Slav felt that something good was about to happen to him, but Skarg only felt danger. As it turned out, Skarg wasn’t wrong about this. When the star descended, it descended with so much force that it caused an explosion of sorts when it smashed into the ground.
The explosion struck Slav, Skarg, and three human puppets with full force. The power of the explosion was so great that it was capable of lifting them and carrying them away. But since they couldn’t move, they had to bear the power of the explosion head-on.
Unfortunately for them, they couldn’t withstand the power of the explosion head-on. Their bodies were shattered and scattered into dust. The dust was finally able to move, so the dust of their corpses was what was blown away by the explosion.
When the smoke and dust of the explosion finally disappeared and settled, the star was nowhere to be seen. Where the star should have been was Slav.
Slav appeared to be fine. In fact, he was completely unscathed.
His clothes were gone, but he was completely fine. There wasn’t even a scratch on his skin. It was as if the explosion of that star had not harmed him at all.
There was still a look of confusion on his face, though. But that confusion slowly disappeared as his eyes flashed briefly with a golden light. These flashes of golden light in his eyes were similar in color to the golden star that had fallen to the earth just earlier.
After Slav regained his senses, he looked around and sighed as he said, “So it has come to this. My plan has failed. But there are some things that I don’t understand.”
“It is one thing for them to hunt and kill every reincarnation of mine with Divine Metacs of the Luck Pathway, but where are the reincarnations of the Time Pathway and the Space Pathway? Where are the Rewind Metac, Space Blink Metac, Space Freeze Metac, and Space Tear Metac?
He looked around the cave heaven, which was the same thing as looking through his memories, but he still couldn’t find those Divine Metacs anywhere. This made him confused again.
He said, “They should still be in my possession. I should still have them if I haven’t used them, or I should have memories of using them if I have used them. But I don’t have either.”
“Why don’t I have any memories of them? Was I injured so badly that I lost some of my memories, or did someone erase the memories from my mind?”
Then he shook his head and said, “Either one is bad. I just can’t believe that I calculated everything so well, yet this is how I turn out. Now everything is gone.”
But he quickly changed his mind and said, “At least I still have the Luck Pathway, and this fallback option. So not everything was lost.”
Then his eyes were filled with determination as he said, “I rose to the top with the pathway of luck. If I can do it before, I can do it again. I, Golden Sun, am not one to back down from a fight.”
What he didn’t say or want to admit was that things would be more difficult for him now. After all, the people who killed him and foiled his plans have gone on to become stronger, while he is broken with only one chance left to change his fate.
Right now, his cave heaven is in terrible shape. It is at the edge of total collapse, and it doesn’t have anything to anchor it anymore, so if he dies one more time, he will die forever and will never have any chance to rise again.
What’s worse is that he is the only one in the Luck Pathway still holding on. All of his allies are dead or have betrayed him. So he is alone and dying while his enemies are stronger and thriving.
All of these make his current situation far more difficult than what he faced back in his heyday. But as bad as things are, he can’t just give up and die. No matter how slim the chance may be, he has to take it.
After encouraging himself, he said, “The first step is to become a divine being again. If I can secure that, I will be able to secure more chances for myself to reincarnate after death.”
Then he chuckled and said with bitterness, “But I doubt those people will let me have my way and make a comeback. It is truly unfortunate to be a loser.”
“The only way I can escape from their sight is if I advance on another world. But first, I must be able to leave this world. So how will I manage that without being a divine being? What a conundrum!”
