THE GOD EATER - Chapter 341: Not Funny.

Chapter 341: Not Funny.
Then the black crow sighed and said, “But while it is my job to kill you. It doesn’t look like it is going to be easy to do so.”
“This brings me back to the earlier conundrum. This conundrum is to guess whether you’re still capable of producing so much destruction or if you’re still capable of withstanding so much destruction.”
After speaking so much, it cocked its head at Loki and said, “Tell me, what is the right answer to that question?”
In response, Loki said calmly, “I already said that you should tell me where your true body is, and I will tell you.”
This time, the black crow didn’t laugh. It stared at him with cold eyes and said, “That’s not funny. It is not funny at all. I take the safety of my body too seriously to laugh at such a joke.”
But this reply only made Loki roll his eyes and say with a voice dripping with sarcasm, “What a shocker! I can’t believe that a corpse lover doesn’t find my joke amusing. Who could have seen it coming?”
The black crow continued to glare at him as it said, “Since you have decided not to be helpful, I can only find a solution myself. It is just a matter of taking a gamble.”
As it spoke, it began to shed black feathers that turned into new crows. So one crow turned into ten, and those ten continued to produce more crows.
All the crows spoke together with one voice, saying, “I know it is a dangerous gamble. I know. Fortunately, I have the resources to make such a gamble.”
As they spoke, more and more crows were made. Then the crows rose into the air to form a dense cloud of birds that blocked out the light of the Sun. This caused a large shadow to cover the whole area.
This large area covered by the shadow was soon covered by a thin black film. The thin black film made the whole area resemble a lake full of black water. White skeletons could also be seen at the bottom of this lake from the surface of the lake.
Then all of the crows in the sky spoke in one eerie voice, saying, “Come, my beloved. Come, the warriors of death. Come, my warriors. Come, arise, and bring death to the world from the darkness beyond. I, Morphious the Black, call you to do your duty.”
As the cacophony of voices thundered from the sky, the darkness on the surface of the ground began to ripple. The surface of the black lake that the whole area had become began to ripple as hands of white bone broke through the surface.
Many skeletal hands soon appeared from beneath the lake of darkness. Those skeletal hands then pulled up the bodies beneath the lake to the surface to reveal skeletal creatures of various kinds.
There were more than ten million skeletal bodies that appeared from the lake of darkness. All of the skeletons had a dark flame burning in their eyes.
The skeletons ranged in size and shape, and it was clear that most of them were not from humans. But the most impressive of them was the giant skeleton.
The head of the giant skeleton alone was as big as a house. Its whole body was as tall as a mountain. It was also dragging an axe that was taller than a five-story building. Each step that the giant undead took caused the whole area to shake.
Of course, Loki wasn’t here to see all of these happen. Right from the moment that the black crow began to create more crows, he had taken off.
He had reactivated his damaged Life Ability and used it to empower himself so that he could run away as fast as possible. So he was already far away by the time the giant skeleton appeared.
Even so, he was able to see the giant skeleton from a distance because it was so big. The figure of the giant skeleton loomed high up into the sky like a god of death. The sight truly reminded him of the figure of the five divine beings that he saw in the previous timeline.
Despite the distance between them being so large, Loki knew that he wasn’t safe from the undead giant just yet. This conviction was mainly because he still vividly remembers what that giant axe is capable of.
He can recollect the capabilities of that axe when it is thrown. So he didn’t dare to relax at all. He continued to run for his dear life while cursing the death cultivator.
He didn’t restrict his cursing to the death cultivator, though. He also made sure to curse that rank 5 talisman master.
His face contorted by anger as he said, “To think she would waste such a trump card on committing suicide when it could have been put to better use against this death cultivator.”
Of course, he ignored the fact that he was the one who forced her to commit suicide, and he didn’t consider the fact that even if she had left the talisman behind, he was unlikely to be able to use it.
If he were being honest, he couldn’t blame her for how everything had turned out. However, he couldn’t hold back from blaming her when he saw the black crows chasing him.
The cloud of black crows was pursuing him and leading the giant skeleton towards him. So it was clear that the death cultivator wasn’t willing to let him go.
This pursuit continued for over ten minutes. During these ten minutes, Loki had spent the time withstanding the attacks of the black crows and trying to figure out a way to deal with the enemy.
The good news is that he found a way to eliminate the danger that the undead giant poses to him. So while shooting down the cloud of black crows trying to get close to him, he allowed one of them to get past his gunfire.
