Chapter 368: Two On One.

As a steward in the Four Directions Sect, she too can freeze the accounts of outer disciples and inner disciples. It is not free to do so, though. She has to pay for this right to oppress the people beneath her in the hierarchy.

So she knows that it is possible for her account to be frozen. And she knows that if her account is frozen, she won’t be able to pay for her Life Ability to activate and kill her target. That will effectively cripple her.

Not only would she lose her greatest power if her account were frozen, but she would also lose the best way for her to earn money. With this kind of threat hanging over her head, she has to do everything to find the rank 4 forger with the mutated Armored Shell Life Ability.

However, the intent and will to achieve something doesn’t equate to the power to achieve that thing. As they say, if wishes were horses, even beggars would ride.

The reality is that wishes aren’t horses, and even kings don’t get to ride them. So, everyone can’t have whatever they want just because they want it, and she hasn’t been able to find the rank 4 forger, even though she was very meticulous and serious with her search for him.

Then she heard a loud roar as the top of a mountain far in the distance erupted in a shower of rocks. She turned to look at the mountain and saw that it was erupting with lava.

As she looked at the mountain, she saw a giant human appear beside the mountain. Then she saw the giant human begin to smash into the mountain.

This sight made her say, “Isn’t that the one called Mount Iris? Let’s go and see what’s going on with it.”

So she began to fly towards the mountain. The group of rank 4 behind her also followed her towards the mountain.

On the other side, Loki had found another guardian. This guardian is the guardian of nature. She is a bird person with green feathers.

The guardian of nature didn’t even let him enter the city before she took action to stop him. She rose into the air and screamed a loud, piercing cry.

Her cry wasn’t directed at him. It was directed at the plants around him. The cry was actually a command ordering the plants to grow and stop him.

So after crying, every plant around him began to grow wildly. The plants enlarged into abnormal proportions and grew at a speed that defied common sense.

Because of the guardian of nature, a forest had grown around. This forest was also hell-bent on grabbing, smacking, and crushing him. All of the plants within the forest were reaching out to him to do one of these things.

However, as enthusiastic as the plants were about killing him, they couldn’t threaten him because they needed to stay rooted in the soil, and he could fly. After rising into the air, he became out of reach of the forest, so there was nothing they could do to him.

When the guardian of nature saw this, she cried out through her beak with a different command. This command caused the plants to grab rocks and sticks and throw them at him.

The plants didn’t stop there. They also began shooting seeds at him through explosive pods. And some of them flung poison secretions at him.

This turn of events indeed made the plants capable of threatening him. But the power of their attacks still wasn’t enough to actually harm him.

Loki didn’t bother with the forest beneath him. He didn’t even look at them. This was because he could still fly higher to avoid the range of their attacks. And even if he didn’t, his defenses were powerful enough to block their attacks completely.

His eyes were only for the guardian of nature, who was looking particularly palatable to him. Fenrir was urging him to take a bite out of her and see what she tasted like, and he didn’t mind obliging it.

He wanted to focus on the green bird person, but someone else was vying for his attention. As he stood there staring at the guardian of nature, the guardian of light had gone to activate all of the giant balistae on the city walls and set them to target him.

There were 10 balistae, and each of them was three stories tall. They looked like siege engines for taking down giant beasts.

Each of the giant balistas needed at least 11 people to operate. But she was activating and controlling all of the giant balistae all by herself.

Despite being short-staffed, she didn’t look overwhelmed by this task at all. She seemed to have the strength of 11 people to operate each giant ballista and 220 arms to operate all 10 giant ballistae at the same time.

All Loki saw was a yellow flash moving from one giant balista to the other. Her speed made her capable of controlling the giant balistas in such a way that all of them targeted him at the same time and released their payload at him one after the other in such a way that he wouldn’t be able to dodge all of them.

Not only was she operating all ten pieces of heavy machinery alone, but she also had time to warn the guardian of nature to stay far away from him. So the green bird person was already in a position to avoid and dodge his gunfire, even though he had never shot at her.
