The inhabitants of this world can’t cultivate and have to rely on their racial advantages. But there are some special creatures that were born with innate super strength.

The special creatures were born by world guardians. These creatures inherited a part of the power of their parents and can easily reach rank 4 in power. This makes them more than capable of killing the rank 4 cultivators.

There are also a lot of these special creatures because of the long history of the world and the proliferation of the bloodline of the world guardians. There are millions of these special descendants and thousands of them at rank 4, which makes them an army that outnumber the rank 4 cultivators 10 to 1.

The descendants of the world guardians were sent after the rank 4 cultivators, while their ancestors, the world guardians, were sent after the rank 5 cultivators. As a result, every invader was being hunted by the world.

This made it so that no one from the five sects had the time and leisure to fight each other. What should have been a three-way fight between the sects and the world had turned into the sects running for their lives.

In just one day, the Four Directions Sect lost one rank 5 cultivator, the Myriad Phenomenon Sect lost two rank 5 cultivators, the Martial Body Sect lost all three rank 5 cultivators, and the Sword Way Sect lost one rank 5 cultivator.

None of the rank 5 cultivators of the Nexus of Truth Sect had died. This was because all three of them had tricks up their sleeves for surviving.

The three rank 5 cultivators of the Nexus of Truth Sect possessed the Shapeshifting Life Ability, the Eye of Illusion Life Ability, and the Shadow Clone Life Ability. So there were two deceivers and one seer.

Their survivability wasn’t a fluke, as even their various rank 4 cultivators had the highest survival rate. The seers and deceivers can hide or avoid danger as long as they don’t kill the inhabitants of this world or expose themselves to the will of the world.

All in all, a total of 7 rank 5 cultivators had died in one day. This is nearly half of the total of 15 rank 5 cultivators. If not for the Nexus of Truth Sect, it would be a safe bet to say that every rank 5 cultivator would be killed in less than a week.

Of course, Loki didn’t feel that the situation was that bad. In fact, he didn’t feel any stress because no one attacked him for half a day. This didn’t change until he reached his destination.

His destination was the largest sandstorm city in the area. When he found it, he went to work trying to find the pope of the wind god religion.

He couldn’t use his eyes to pick out the most important-looking wind elemental because all of the wind elementals looked the same to him. They looked like invisible air.

He had to hijack the mind of one of the wind elementals and have it find the pope for him. When one wind elemental ran out of options and couldn’t go further, he would switch to the next most powerful wind elemental in the city and have them find the pope.

His quest started with an elemental at the edge of the city. From there, he reached the boundary of the inner city. The elemental had to stop here because he was a low-born citizen who couldn’t enter the inner city.

So he used the mind of the low-born wind elemental to hijack the mind of a high-born one and gained access to the city. This high-born wind elemental was able to reach all the way to the religious grounds before he was stopped.

The high-born wind elemental couldn’t continue because he wasn’t allowed to trespass on religious property. So Loki had to jump ship and move into the mind of a priest.

The priest took him into the inner sanctum of the church, but he could go no further. The only way to make progress was to hijack the mind of a bishop.

At this point, Loki had gotten the information he wanted because the bishop knew where the wind god should be at this point in the year. But Loki wanted to see what was so special about the pope, so he had the bishop continue on his quest.

From bishop to cardinal and from cardinal to pope, he finally found who he was looking for. This switch also went from rank 2 being to rank 3 being, and finally to the rank 4 pope.

Apparently, these people were descendants of the wind god and were related to each other in one way or another. Unfortunately for them, they still weren’t strong enough to resist his mental tricks.

After he hijacked the mind of the pope, he asked him some questions. It was during this endeavor that he learned that the wind god had stopped going its usual route and was now attacking invaders.

This made him slap his forehead and say, “So I have been wasting my time all along looking for the world guardians. If I had just indulged my gluttony a little bit, I wouldn’t have wasted so much time.”

“It was a good thing that I found this pope. It knows more about the world guardians than the other clerics.”

Then he chuckled and said, “But aren’t the world guardians of this world a little pompous? What makes them think they can hunt every one of us?”

“With just the four of them? I don’t think that’s going to be enough. No, I don’t think it is going to be enough at all.”

As he said this, he shook his head and chuckled with mirth. His chuckle was one of amusement and he looked as if he was here for a stroll in a park. But his carefree behavior didn’t stop him from taking action, and it was harmful action too.
