What he gained in total was only 30% of the total law fragments and lifespan he could have gained had he eaten the whole world. Since the sword cultivator had a world that was 124 million square kilometers in size and 15,269,468 law fragments, what he gained was 3,340 years of lifespan and 4,580,840 law fragments.

The total amount of lifespan that he could have gained was 11,135 years. If he had taken the deal, he could have gotten 5,567 years’ worth of lifespan, one Divine Metac, and 7,634,734 law fragments.

When he calculated how much he had lost, he could only shake his head and say to himself, ’But what choice did I have? Was I really going to leave him alive after he discovered so much about me?`

’I don’t regret not taking that deal. Even if I gained nothing, it would still be worth it to kill him. What I regret is not killing him properly.’

As he was thinking to himself, he appeared in the second heaven as a golden man. Without even having time to gain his bearings, he was spotted by the swordsmen who had come to avenge their fallen brethren.

The person who spotted him shouted at him, saying, “Hey. Hold on.”

“We are currently performing an investigation into the death of an elder of the Sword Way Sect. We need you to subject yourself to a search. If you’re not who we are after, we will let you go.”

She shouted at him because he was currently far away from her position, and she needed to shout for him to hear her. She was shouting at him just to intimidate and order him around.

But Loki could tell that she was also trying to intimidate him. He confirmed this when she said, “Don’t run away now. If you run away, you will be considered the killer.”

As she spoke, she was running towards him to cover the distance between them. But Loki was also running away from her, so the distance between them was maintained despite her best efforts.

While running away, he took some time to check his surroundings. His eyes panned around him and saw that there were four swordsmen and 7 other kinds of cultivators around him.

He saw that 7 other cultivators were trying to grab fragments of Cave Heavens and were looking through them for anything valuable. As for the swordsmen, he saw them either chasing the other cultivators and trying to detain him, like this woman is trying to do to him.

This made him shout back to the woman, saying, “Just so that I’m clear, how exactly are you going to inspect me?”

She replied, saying, “We just want to check the core of your Cave Heaven and see what Divine Metacs you’re using. When we confirm that you’re not the murderer, we will let you go.”

She sounded so reasonable, which made Loki laugh and say to himself, ’It seems it is a thing with sword cultivators to want to search the core of the Cave Heaven of other cultivators. I bet that she, too, would get angry like that swordsman if I enter her Cave Heaven and demand to check the core.’

He thought this to himself while laughing outwardly, so she didn’t know what he was thinking about. She only had an inkling as to what he was thinking because his laughter was one of derision.

However, she got to find out exactly what he was thinking about when he shouted at her, saying, “Fuck you and your search.”

Then he allowed himself to fall from the second heaven.

The process was slow, and he had to watch her approach him while he was falling. Fortunately, the distance between them was far enough, so he was able to leave the second dimension before she could stop him.

Then again, she hadn’t been running at her full speed. So it is uncertain if she would have caught up to him if she had used her full power. What is certain is that running at her full speed would have cost her some lifespan.

Now that Loki was gone, she stopped chasing him. The next thing she did was to turn towards another cultivator and shout at him, saying, “Hey. Hold on.”

This other cultivator was a woman. But just like Loki, this other cultivator refused to subject herself to this kind of invasive search. Especially since the investigation could quickly turn into an attempt on her life. So she left the second heaven, too.

Every cultivator that the sword cultivators did this chose to give up on the fragments of the Cave Heaven and run away. There was nothing to gain and a lot to lose, so they left.

If there were something to gain, like say, three large continents each with a size of 24.8 million square kilometers, these cultivators wouldn’t have quit. They would have surely called for more helpers to help resist the tyranny of the Sword cultivators.

This would have turned the whole area into a battlefield of various divine beings from various sects and pathways fighting for the benefits. Unfortunately, there is nothing worth fighting for this time around.

Now that everyone else had been sent away, the rest of the Cave Heaven could be harvested by the swordsmen without any need to fight the people from the other sects.

Unlike the divine beings from other sects, they can absorb this Cave Heaven directly. Plus, the spirit creatures in the Cave Heaven contain law fragments that are useful to them.

This makes the fragments of the Cave Heaven more valuable to them than they would be to the divine beings in other pathways. Fortunately, the Cave Heaven has been broken into fragments, so there is no use fighting over it.
