THE GOD EATER - Chapter 582: The Dragon King.

When one of the agitated creatures attacked him, he smacked it aside. It was a simple smack, but the attack smashed the large shark into mush. Then he shook his head and said to the others, “They have been whipped into a frenzy to kill us. The will of Oceania is truly ruthless.”

He crushed the head of another shark by kicking it with his foot. As he did this, he said, “Being able to rally the creatures of the world to defend their world seems good. But, I want to call this move stupid and useless since there is nothing powerful among these beasts that can harm us.”

“However, I might be missing some critical information. So I ask you, is it stupid and useless, or is there some profound meaning for this that eludes me?”

After hearing what he said, Nether Flame first looked towards Money Body to see if the rank 8 cultivator had anything to say about Loki’s question.

When he saw that Money Body had nothing to say against Loki’s line of questioning, he felt safe enough to speak.

So he said, “It is stupid. But I suppose this is a prelude to something else that might be more useful.”

Money Body finally spoke, saying, “Stay sharp. From what I can tell, this world has at least three world kings. Yet, none of them are fighting us right now.”

Ant Hill also decided to pick this moment to talk again. She said, “If there are three world kings, it means that the power of the world has been split between them, right? So the three world kings should be weak and easy to deal with.”

What she said was also what Loki thought. But Money Body shook his head and said, “That’s in the case of a medium world or a large world without dragons.”

Ant Hill and Loki still understand how dragons made any difference. They were certainly impressed that this world has dragons. But they don’t see what’s to be scared about.

But Nether Flame was more informed, so his eyes widened when he heard what Money Body said. His voice was full of excitement as he said, “This world really has dragons?”

Money glanced at him before saying, “Stop fantasizing about what you can do with a dragon heart. Let’s focus more on how to get the dragon heart first. Or at least, let’s make sure that the dragons won’t kill us.”

His warning made Nether Flame calm down. The death cultivator nodded and said, “That’s true. Dragons are very dangerous.”

Ant Hill didn’t know exactly what made dragons dangerous. But she didn’t want to ask so that she wouldn’t look stupid in front of the newbie.

But Loki wanted the information, and since he had already been labeled as the ignorant noob, he had no qualms about doing his part to appear ignorant.

So he said, “What exactly makes dragons dangerous? Didn’t we kill all of them back on our world? So what’s there to fear?”

Nether Flame knew part of the answer to his questions, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he looked towards Money Body to take the lead and say something before he could speak.

Money Body did have something to say. He said, “Dragons are dangerous on their own because of their immense talent. Their talent made becoming divine beings something set in stone for them.”

“But talent becomes mostly irrelevant when we become divine beings. The only effect of talent for us, divine beings, is the efficiency of our life fire. Aside from that, there is no difference between the power of divine beings and dragons.”

“However, what truly makes dragons dangerous is not their individual power as divine beings. The most fearsome thing about them is how the dragon king can combine the power of every dragon into his or her own.”

Money Body stopped speaking after saying this. He let them connect the pieces themselves.

Nether Flame decided to add something to the matter, so he said, “As a world becomes larger and more powerful, it will gain more symbols of authority. It can combine all of these symbols of authority into a single world king or split the symbols of authority among many creatures to create many world kings.”

“In a normal situation, it is always good to have one world king. That way, the world king will have many symbols of authority at its disposal to use and combine however it wishes, the way we divine beings have many Divine Metacs.”

“But for insurance or for some other reason, the will of the world will choose to split the power of the world king and create many world kings. This option will make it so that the death of a single world king won’t make the wield vulnerable.”

“With many world kings protecting the core of the world, we will have to kill all of them before we can access the core of the world. This is the advantage of having many world kings. But it comes with the disadvantage of weakening the individual power of the world kings.”

“However, if a large world is willing to invest in creating dragons and convert all of the dragons into world kings. The strongest dragon among these dragons will become a dragon king who is capable of using the power of every other dragon for itself.”

Loki became enlightened when he heard all of this information. He already had an inkling when Money Body spoke earlier. But what Nether Flame said helped to make everything much clearer.

After understanding what they were saying, he said, “So the power of the dragon king will be equal to the power of a single world king whose power was never divided.”

“That way, dragons help the world to have the advantage of a strong singular world king and the advantage of having many world kings protecting the core of the way. Talk about eating one’s cake and having it. No wonder worlds like dragons so much.”
