The Innkeeper - Chapter 2131 Compensation

Chapter 2131 Compensation
It was as if Lex had been punched in the face with a flashbang that then blew up at the moment it punched him. Yet instead of blinding and disorienting him, the flashbang released an apocalyptic tornado of disgustingly pure and
nourishing energy that was exceptionally easy to absorb, keeping him both immobilised and yet refreshed and awake.
That was what happened the moment Lex lifted the lid, still unable to see what it contained. Yet as Lex’s body was launched across the room as if it had been shot out of a cannon due to the immense force of the energy that had been released, his mind was already racing to try to stabilise the situation!
As he tried to make sense of the chaos, he noticed that he had received a few system notifications, so he immediately checked them out.
New Notification: Detected corpse of Primordial Sun Crow inside the Inn! Triggering a special, timed event relating to the Midnight Realm Management Panel!
New Notification: Primordial Sun Crow is resonating with the Midnight Realm! New Notification: A temporary, one time sale available inside the Midnight Realm Management Panel!
In the time that it took Lex to read these messages, which was basically no time at all, the corpse had grown to a much larger size, though it was kept small due to the system’s influence! Even so, it was releasing an absurd amount of energy each and every second, and Lex could feel that it was beginning to affect the Midnight Realm!
The changes were positive, yet due to the suddenness and severity of the changes, the realm laws began to experience certain instabilities. No wonder Eclipse had warned the Innkeeper to be ready to help with the integration! The corpse was integrating with the realm!
As Lex’s body was pressed against the wall of his office, and as all the guests in the realm suddenly felt themselves be washed in the most beautifully warm energy they had ever felt, Lex quickly opened the system and investigated the Midnight realm management panel.
Of all the possible upgrades that he could buy for his realm, there was one that had its price drop drastically – all the way to 10 million MT!
“Bloody hell, ten million MT! I don’t have enough kidneys to sell to afford that,” said Lex to himself as he read the description of the upgrade on sale.
Primordial Sunlight
Upgrade the Midnight Realm to always shine Primordial Sunlight whenever a star shines upon it, nourishing life and fueling destruction with the most potent of energies! While this upgrade will not spur the production of Primordial energy within the realm, it will drastically increase the speed of the realms maturing process!
The description was simple, but the implications were incredible. More importantly, Lex did not really have a choice in the matter, for this upgrade was likely the only way he could deal with the corpse in front of him. He literally couldn’t even close the box back up if he wanted to, so he was kind of stuck.
With a heavy heart, Lex once again submitted one of his Dao materials to the Inn to convert into MT. This was an absurd and diabolical waste of resources, but what could he do? He was rich in assets but poor in liquidity.
Thus, for the second time, Lex discovered a new Midnight currency. 1 MT was equal to one trillion MP, and as it turned out, one trillion MT was equal to one ME, meaning Midnight Emblem!
That was slightly strange, for points and tokens still made sense but emblem meant something else entirely. Lex innately felt that the ME currency was special, and contained hidden traits and features, yet now wasn’t the time to focus on that!
In exchange for one Dao material, Lex received 13 ME. He immediately transferred one ME into MT, and paid the 10 million MT cost for that upgrade! Lex was hoping that things would calm down once he purchased the upgrade. Unfortunately, that is not what happened!
At least the corpse suddenly vanished, though, allowing Lex to fall down to the ground and regain control over his body. Yet Lex hardly focused on that. Since he was wearing the Host Attire, he was connected to the system and thus the realm itself – not to mention his bond with Lotus which allowed him to know about the state of the realm.
The instability that had begun to appear due to the abundant energy from the corpse fusing in the realm disappeared, which was great. Yet the flow of energy did not drop at all. Instead, a massive, shining star appeared in the sky, far above the Midnight Inn. What was special about this star was that it was not a circle, but in the shape of a crow with its wings expanded.
What’s more, the star kept exuding an enormous amount of energy that was being absorbed by the realm itself, yet the issue was that the realm could not absorb the energy fast enough, so the remainder of it was being washed down onto all living and non-living beings within the realm.
While the energy source was Primordial, the energy itself was not, making it easy to absorb. Thus, in an entirely new fashion, the Midnight Inn once again brought its guests the opportunity to upgrade their cultivations!
Billions of guests immediately experienced a breakthrough. Fortunately, most of them were mortals so that hardly triggered any reaction at all. As if that was not enough, all the plants, all the rocks, the soil, the air, the very space in the realm itself began to experience a rapid upgrade – all without suffering any consequences from the sudden increase in strength.
While everyone was stunned, mesmerised, shocked or awed by the sudden event, the Innkeepers voice gently washed over the Inn, much like the energy of the new crow-shaped star.
“To compensate my guests for the inconvenience you have suffered, allow me to share some of the energy I had reserved for my realm. Please, take this time to focus on your cultivation, lest you make a mistake in your excitement.”
